You can thank the idiocy that is the VCM system in these Honda engines. But why? Did you miss the window for Honda to do this for free? They have a "secret" warranty that will take care of this at no cost to you. If you did, you still didn't have to do this as it is well known that muzzling the VCM system and replacing the sparkplugs is all that is needed. Keep an eye on your oil use for a few thousand miles and the rings will come back to normal. You can tell when the oil consumption gets back to normal. One more thing, if you did all that work, with 84k miles on the clock, you were almost due for the timing belt service. You should have swapped out the TB, water pump, TB tensioner and idler pulleys. You have to wonder why car makers are so stupid and keep trying this idea which has caused problems every time it is used. Every single car makers engine that does cylinder deactivation has problems. Not to mention that the MPG savings are really trivial.
