Red F-150 (1986) Driver's Side Mirror Replacement

- The mirror on the driver's side had got to where it wouldn't stay in place. They'll do that when the get age on them. I installed a parts store replacement for now and blind spot mirrors.
I like watching u fix stuff for some reason, but i learn some things.

I have a 1990 F150 and have to replace the driver side mirror. It looks pretty similar to what you have there. I went to Oreilly auto parts and they had the whole assembly. I’m assuming you didn’t have take off the inside door panel for any reason?

I bought an aftermarket right side mirror for my 89 f250. the mirror is zoomed in and I cant see shit behind me. Anyone have this problem, know where to find an oem passenger side mirror?
I had the same issue getting a set of 2 on amazon, not only do the brackets not work for my truck (96 where the top bracket is flipped) but zero visibility out of the passenger side. I ended up getting one from LMC Truck that was the right mirror (bracket still didn't work for mine but yours is an 89 so should be ok). Get the one that says Convex Glass, I got Part Number 49-6623 for mine, had to tighten the 3 screws under the mirror quite a bit to make it not vibrate but the visibility is fantastic.
@@cameron.carranza thanks for the part number. I modded the aftermarket mirror. I broke out the plate glass and installed a convex mirror in its place. Looks good from 5 feet but i would love to get something proper.
@@user-zf4qs2jy3n same, the LMC one looks closer to factory but does feel cheaper for sure, I'm betting its just chrome painted plastic for the housing
