On Feb 1957 a Northeast Airlines Electra tried taking off from LGA headed to Miami in a snowstorm but due to pilot error and poor deicing never attained enough lift to clear trees on Rikers Island and Crashed near the prison. There were survivors and many prisoners helped the victims and a bunch had sentences reduced or were released.
+tecknos africa and it doesn't make sense that those pilots weren't qualified to fly in a storm cause I thought the airline wouldn't give pilots the job if they aren't qualified to fly in shitty weather
tecknos africa well the de-icing system sure has changed since a certain plane went down due to bad de-icing jobs, and they feel every inch of the wings and tail of the plane to make sure they haven't missed a spot, then they spray the plane with this green goo (anti-icing fluid) that prevents ice buildup for one flight
It's normal. The "buzz saw" sound you're hearing are the shock waves produced as the engine spools up and its fan blades surpass the speed of sound -- in other words, multiple small-scale sonic booms in rapid succession. The blades in turbo-fan engines -- such as those in the A321 -- spin that fast when maximum thrust is set for takeoff and the initial climb.
Once it hits V1 there is no stopping no matter the conditions. The plane has to climb or everyone will explode in a fireball at the end of the runway because there isn't enough runway to stop in time. The only way is up!
Feel the power of those engines, scary and at the same time magnificent
That engine is putting out the POWER !
thats the IAE V2500 for ya
the best part is when you get above the clouds and see the beaufitul sunset/sunrise
yeah it's amazing

What a thrilling takeoff!
Great sounds when it goes into climb thrust

WOW ... that was a serious take off.
Incredible sound! Love the IAE Engines!
man dude that looks scary
More like beautiful
You never find me in a plane in a snowstorm
Why? It's not like planes are crashing more in the winter. Don't let irrational fears run your life
Damn fine pilot!
I love aircraft !
Yeah climb thrust sounds like a buzzsaw!
take off looked scary
Fuck, I thought that plane was going to crash! Neat seats! Wow
This is seriously the most powerful Airbus takeoff I've ever heard... 🤪🤤😂 what camera/audio are you using lad?
Is wanderfull is snow boys mi like the thrust.
I Love it "This."Is really great!!"
omg the power
WHY would they even take off in weather like that?
Wow super 👍👍👍👍
Wow now that's what I call full throttle. Those are rolls Royce engines right
Nah.
+Steven Oravitz IAE V2500
That is epic, RR. I'm not easily amazed
more like 90ish precent power, full throttle you can only hear a slight hum
No these engines are IAE V2533-A5 (Info from channel JahuTheFlyer)
1:47 RAZOR ACTIVATED
Damn climb thrust is so whiney haha. Reminds me of a 757.
smashing engine sound
That was nice.
Lol that snow storm is pretty scary and dangerous
What was the weather like when you landed in sfo?
I was beginning to wonder if they had enough runway....he took forever to lift.
I thought the same like wait it's a long time they on the run way
Only five mark man)
Long take off run
Yay JetBlue got a new plane in their fleet. Now they need a Boeing 737-800 or an Airbus A330 and fly across the Atlantic
737-800s cant fly across the atlantic.a321s can i think
The A321's in their fleet likely aren't ETOPS certified.
They are getting A321LR and A321XLR for transatlantic. London is the first destination starting late next year from JFK and BOS
@@KevinMeno2008 5 years later, my wish came true. However with an A321LR to Heathrow
Nice
How pilots Know if the de-icing is done well ? in the past a plane crashed because of bad deicing
You're talking about when that U.S. Airways aircraft attempted to take off from LGA in a snow storm and killed 27 people right
Jason Andolina
there's another one , pilots didn't have required training to fly in icing conditions , the plane was ATR42
+tecknos africa oh idk about that on I only heard of the one that I mentioned at LGA

Nice....
I don't fly in snow or rain, what if the engine freezes up, for get that.
I mean if I had Mint seats I'd still get on that flight too lol
On 1,56 min (??) Is that noise normal at lower revs? No worn bearing or anything?
Sorry....1,46 min.

One long takeoff roll, mtow maybe
The Rolls-Royce buzzsaw turbines....
thats SUCH AN AWESOME SEAT!! first?
+Elliot Chen I was sitting in Jet Blue's new First Class cabin which they call MINT Class. It was one of the best First Class seats I've flown in.
+Ed Halvey Nice. Is it expensive?
+Elliot Chen Very expensive.
as usual, all first classes are very expensive.
Elliot Chen usually around 559-3000 dollars USD one way. Pretty good deal if you get it under 1000. Much better than most domestic first classes.
cool
Where is this located
As stated in the title, the takeoff is from JFK Airport in NYC.
Tha's scary! If the plane had to abort the take off it may not be able to slow down in time and slide..?
Once it hits V1 there is no stopping no matter the conditions. The plane has to climb or everyone will explode in a fireball at the end of the runway because there isn't enough runway to stop in time. The only way is up!
It’s a small craft . Boeing won’t make that noise , it’s more damp
Scary shit and sounds😳😬
Its ferrari in the air. Sound like engine going to blast ...👍👍😆
Look at you sitting in Mint
woopi doo !!
Sounds like a buzz saw not a jet.
would probably be shitting myself
