    Good n clear documentary.
    Hope the Indonesian authorities know what tragic results it will result having so much palm oil plantation.
    Erosion, drought, flooding, citizens and animals sick with health problems such as asthma, Bronchitis, eczema, hives, cancer, autism, etc. All the result of breathing smog, and drinking poisoned water.
    GDP goes up, health comes down.
    Is it worth it long term?

      In fact, 32% of Indonesia's territory is forest, while Europe is only 18%.

      and also Europe is very hypocritical, they told us to take care of nature while on their continent there are almost no forests

    My father said that the Indonesians were inconsiderate of the burnings. They were causing all the smoke to be blown towards Singapore so that all the haze would appear. There was no rain and the temperature was raised making the situation even worse.

    BOYCOTT PALM OIL NOW!!

      Singaporeans always complain abt the haze problem when they know SG companies own some palm oil plantations as well. SG and Indonesia governments just point fingers at each other. I am a Singaporean btw.

    don't you know?
    1. Indonesian society is a victim of the hazes.
    2. not just Indonesian company that burn the forest. but the Singapore and Malasyia Company is one of the biggest company that burn the forest
    3. Even the center of palm oil trade is in Singapore and the most influenced price regulator is Malasyia and they just blame the Indonesian Government??? how come?

      @nexu6517 9 лет назад

      Indonesia caused the most damage and the government isnt taking the haze problem seriously. And if you are to blame Singapore too, let me tell you, SINGAPORE DOES NOT BURN FOREST. SINGAPORE IS A SMALL NATION AND DOES NOT HAVE MUCH FOREST. THESE FOREST IS FOR RESERVES AND FOR ARMY BASES WHATSOEVER. You need to give me the source where you get the information about Singapore burning forest you dumbfuck

      +Kaneki Ken i did not say singapore burn forest ! read carefully... Indonesian forest is burned... who did it? a big corporation... who own shares the stock of this big corporation? apart from indonesian investor, it could be from singapore and malaysia investor. why they burn? for cheap land clearing... why it should be cheap? because customer want cheap prices. who is the trader? around the world and the central market in Malaysia and the distribution hub in Singapore. and actually they more assign the prices than the producer. I just want to say that... don't all of you blame Indonesia itself. it's regional problem that as a neighbour, Singapore and Malasyia have taken profit from palm oil trade. moreover our people in Sumatera and Kalimantan get the most impact from the haze cause they are closer to the burned point.
      Indonesian government is doing the best for shut down the fire. the fire can not be turned off from water bombing because the soil is peat moss. The fire burned in below of top soil. so it could be a man come down to burning fire and shut down the fire. there is Indonesian officers has fallen to do this job. so if our neighbour suffering, indonesian people feel the same.

    EU, US and China has decimated their primordial forests & wildlife in the name of progress. They have managed to get away scot-free till date. Their forest cover is at about EU 35%, US 31% and China 18%. I have always been profound in saving the worlds lush tropical rainforests. But how are we to stop deforestation when we are the worst of examples? Indonesian & Malaysian palm oil, Brazil beef & agriculture, pulp and paper... sigh.
