    Girl I feel the hype that you felt! This masque is the best!!! I have 4c type low porosity hair as well and It’s bra clasp length. Detangling my hair used to be my least favorite part of wash day but this product has made it so easy and less time consuming!! I’m just like where has this been?! You’re gorgeous by the way and your hair looked as happy as you ❤️.

    I've been using this throughout my entire 6 year natural journey. It leaves my hair feeling softer than anything I've ever tried on my low porosity, 4A curls. My hair has gone through various stages of health, protein overload, and moisture overload. This is the only product that's consistently worked through it all. I hope they don't switch up the formula much.

    Hi Chanelle, I just watched this video GREAT VIDEO AND THANK YOU!!! I was wondering if you could recommend a moisture shampoo and conditioner for type 4 hair that will give it moisture. Honestly I am looking for a deep conditioner that I leave in all day, not a leave in because my hair just laughs at them. I just want my hair to be healthy and strong and to grow.

    • @haileychanelle
      @haileychanelle  3 года назад +2

      HEY! I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Design Essentials Almond Avocado is a great shampoo. I would also recommend Kera Care sulfate free shampoo. I find both to be very good for detangling and easy on the hair. TGIN Shampoo has been recommended to me many times but i have not gotten around to trying it yet.
      I sit under a hooded dryer for 20-40 minutes when I DC, depending on how much moisture I feel my hair needs. I use the Shea Moisture Manuka Honey and Mafura Oil Mask as shown in the video. It is my go to even to this day. I also have become equally fond of the TGIN Honey Mask when I want a protein free DC. I personally do not see an increase in benefit for my hair if I sleep in a deep conditioner other than Aussie Moist. So, I am not sure which DC to recommend to you for that, I'm sorry.
      However, when I am doing a wash n go, a midweek co-wash, or just being lazy, I will leave in regular conditioner all day. When I do that, I use a cheaper conditioner like Aussie Moist or Texture ID Coils conditioner.
      Let me know what products you try and what ultimately works for you! 🤗

  • @jollofforbreakfast
    @jollofforbreakfast 4 года назад +5

    Hey..! This is a great review! But when evaluating your hair when wet (and dry), I don’t think you have 4c hair. Type 4 sure, but 4c hair has micro-ringlet coils that are too small to “curl up” on each other, and you have naturally defined curls. If you want to see what 4c hair looks like I think you should check out channels like KandidKinks, NappyFu, or Chizi Duru! I say this because your review might be a little misleading to girls who’s hair texture is much much tighter than yours.

    • @haileychanelle
      @haileychanelle  4 года назад +7

      I appreciate your comment! I will be doing a series on getting 4c hair to curl. Society tells us we have the most unruly, unmanageable hair, and that is true. It is also true that our hair can be trained to do a lot of things. Also, I follow every single one of them and that’s how I realized my hair had the potential to curl. When they are moisturizing their hair, if you look closely, you can see their hair tries to clump. However, they prefer “dry styling” not wet styling. Thank you for bringing this to my attention though as these are videos that need to be made to shed light in the 4c community!

      CurlyGurlChanelle I really appreciate how respectful you’re being about this! but I have to agree with Tari, your hair looks more 4a to me. This is also all to say that hair typing is a social construct and doesn’t really serve much significance but I do think hair typing helps people of your “hair type” envision what a style make look like. Like I’m low porosity and 4a and this video literally reminds of myself especially when I tried this product (bc it is bomb affff you’re right lol), but I wonder how someone of a tighter hair texture may engage with this video. Especially since your hair has no product in it other than the deep co and it’s able to form circular curls like that, without being styled. Your hair is gorgeous btw and I appreciated you making a video for the low porosity girls bc I find that I struggle finding videos that are helpful sometimes, but I wanted to also add to this discussion. 💕

      Kristen Ukeomah
      I love this! I love these discussions! The more the merrier! I love to hear how people view hair because it helps me know who I am catering to.
      That being said, the most common misconception on RUclips right now is that 4c hair is not only unruly, hard to deal with, but also that if your hair curls than it absolutely cannot be 4c hair. A lot of people believe the title 4c is being used just to get views or likes. 4c people understand the struggle of being made fun of for being the only category of hair that “doesn’t curl” and I make a lot of wash n go videos in hopes of helping those people. I find it interesting because 4c is not actually part of the original hair typing system. It was constructed as a result of a group of people acknowledging that their hair was different than the other types. 4c then became an identified category of being the group with “the tightest curls or zigzags of the hair typing community”. It was never said that 4c hair does not have the ability to curl. It is just that our curls are slightly harder to manipulate. Instead of being satisfied with my hair not curling, I follow a routine that gets my curls to cooperate. I have extremely tight coils and zigzags, much smaller than the circumference of a drinking straw. Since no one has all of one type I will also acknowledge that I have sparse groups of 4b hair. But I am mainly 4c. Thank you so much for commenting! I am glad the review helped you!

    • @jollofforbreakfast
      @jollofforbreakfast 4 года назад +1

      CurlyGurlChanelle Your hair curls so easily though...like just water alone and I can see defined curls. My curls are less than the circumference of a coffee straw. Super super tight. But to each their own I guess. Good luck with your channel.

    Is this a hair mask or a deep conditioner? I have low porosity hair too I am looking for a protein hair mask to use once a month it says hair masque on the tub

    • @haileychanelle
      @haileychanelle  3 года назад +2

      Good Question! Technically they are classified as two different things but you'll often see the RUclips community use them interchangeably. A deep conditioner is a more intense conditioner/moisture treatment. A masque( or mask) is a moisture strengthening treatment that caters to damaged hair. Both are applied to the hair in the same way and typically require heat(or leaving the product on for longer) for better penetration . This product is a mask and it uses hydrolyzed rice protein as its strengthener along with other ingredients. I use masks, protein conditioners, or deep conditioners that are made for damaged hair because even though I may think my hair isn't damaged, more then likely there's a strand somewhere that can benefit from the product. I hope that answers your question! Let me know if you try it and wha you think!

    • @haileychanelle
      @haileychanelle  3 года назад +4

      Jodie Marie94 it’s not protein based, it simply has protein in it. Products that are protein based are the ones like green beauty’s protein treat or aphogee.
      tbh I find this to be a mild amount of protein. You’ll notice that these products with protein don’t say how much protein and there is no rule of thumb for how much protein low porosity hair “should have”.. Don’t go by what everyone assumes is a rule for hair. Do what your hair needs. I have low porosity hair and my hair thrives when I use products with protein. I use this every time I shampoo. Building protein helps maintain moisture. To make easy to keep track, I simply use products that already have protein and moisture combined and if I feel I need a bit more protein then I’ll do a treatment. I hope that clarifies things!🤗🤗
