I’m teaching myself to play piano after being a self taught guitar player for 45 years, I’ve given up on trying to read music and as I’ve done all my life I play by ear, I like how you explained it very easy for me to understand, love the fact that you can play different inversions of chords on a piano and change the bass notes so you’re not just playing the root all the time

I wanted to sing this song and wanted the 'easy' way to play it. Sure enough, when I found your tutorial, it uses the 'magic 4 chords' of the pop song standard. Transposing it to D made it much much easier... But, this is not why I wrote this comment...I wrote this wanting to compliment on your beautiful voice...so soft and soothing, I could listen to your voice all day, aside from your perfect piano playing of course.
Please don't hold back on the singing. I can tell that you are so focusing on teaching us on the piano part, you supress on letting your voice out...it is such a beautiful voice...let it out please...I am sure that I am not the only one here who wants to listen to you. Wow. No other word to say. I love so much your tuto. For my part im a natural, music is in my genes. I started at 3 years old playing by ears, and still today, but that make of me a raw pianist since I do not know how to read (I usually hear the tone and match it) but recently I've found you, you are calm, reassuring and by just looking at yours fingers, I find it so beautifull. My fingers are so long I could probably almost double your reach, but i'm missing the technic since I always played by hears. My mom tried to put me into lessons when I was 5 cause after hearing only once a song I could play it, but teacher said that was worth nothing since I was playing while looking at the ceiling. Never got into further because they didn't push me eniway to learn read music and got me out of the lesson cause it was kinda useless, you know at 3-5 when you have a gift you don realise it pretty much daaa. Now at 36 im falling back in love with my gift and realise I could have been a piano master or as I say in french proof that its never to late. But believe in your kids and push them (not harder than they can get, you dont wanna scrap them either). Aujourd'hui si ca ne serait de mes parents qui me m'ont pas poussé à fond (mais qui croyaient en moi) aujourd'hui je n'ai pas peur de dire que je serais une virtuose au piano parce que j'ai un don. Mais il n'est jamais trop tard. Its never to late. Aujourd'hui je compose mais ma lacune, je manque de richesse et de connaissances élémentaires et je ne peux ni lire ni transposer mes notes sur une partition papier, je connais les bases mais sans plus, I like to say that I play RAW with no technique and can't put my creations on paper... only mp4. Your videos and you collegue''s one makes me learn a lot in every ways. You guys are so beautiful playing piano, I like you both without even knowing you. Keep on going, you inspire me. I dont know the speed others are learning would be curious cause I think I do very great in learning the cords and running up and down, and thumb tuck and all that stuff go pretty easy reel quick

I just picked one up for free. Check your classifieds, there are usually a few people trying to get rid of their old pianos when they upgrade or if they’re moving. If they need to get rid of it quickly, they’ll just give it away.
If you’re getting a used one, make sure that it’s not trashed. The one I got was from a piano teacher when she was upgrading so she kept it in great condition.

Helpful tip! That intro is just 2nd inversion triads! Knowing this really helped me figure it out because I just had to get the handshape down instead of memorizing all the notes
