My style of teaching is completely different than the "old style" and this woman's style. I personalize instruction to the student, but my personality and musical tastes are in the film/late romantic arena mostly, with some easy listening and soft rock thrown in for good measure. I can be tough on more advanced students, but it has more to do with the lesson content rather than something intense coming from my own psyche, etc.

Love your teaching technique. I've been playing for about 52 years (really) but I had NEVER tried to actually learn how to play. Never took lessons, just played by ear so I can only use one hand. Now, before I go home, I want to learn how to play for real and yours is one of the best techniques I've found. Love it. Love ya! (my wife and kids always force me to use earphones when I practice. LOL)

I like how you sing with each chords that you play. I find that very effective in internalizing the sound of the chords and the sound of the notes that are in harmony with each chords that you play because you are actually the one creating the sound yourself by singing it.

Seriously, I *ABSOLUTELY KNOW* that The GOOD LORD showed me this channel!!!! I say this because, I have wanted to play piano since I was about 5-6, and I got a mini keyboard at 8, and played by ear....But never had any lessons....I FINALLY got A Piano, and although, ummmm, I am older, lol, I am learning to play, and I have jumped around soooo many channels trying to find one that speaks to me, and this one does! There’s some that I just don’t understand what they are explaining, and it’s not that they are wrong or teaching wrong, it’s just everybody is different, teaches different and learns different, and we just need to find the one that works for us individually🙂

Advice to beginners : Learn songs with metronome. It will really help you in the future. I've been playing piano for a year and now gonna try these songs with metronome on.
