  • I wanted to have a small, good quality amplifier module with an onboard volume control. I'm afraid this not the one I was looking for.
    It has a very noticeable noise level. It is very likely a design issue of this board.

    I have this amp PCB layout as well. I only run them with 8 ohm loads. I am aware the board does seem to have shielding issues and very likely the source of the noice.

    Unplug the aux cord not the power. If it still has noise with aux cable unplugged then it's the amp. It sounds more like your audio device or cable is bad.

    Makes a hissing noise when quiet. I'm playing this through my own PAM8610, so I'm getting it double.

    One minor point. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES can the 2 - connections to the speakers be allowed to contact each other. In your video they are very close or touching. Most of the other reviews seem to indicate this little amp is pretty good but they are very poor quality reviews. I do wish people would use proper speakers in cabinets, even the best amps sound crap without.

      You are perfectly right. As you can see at 2:40 I did have tried it with a proper speaker set with the same result.

    I realize this wouldn't have much to do with the noise level but it is an 8ohm stereo amp that was pushing 4 ohm speakers.
    Is there a cure for the internal noise of the amp?

    i purchase mine on ebay and my problem is shutdown on half volume, but it has a good quality of sound more bass. this amp is good for portable speaker too...

    hello my friend i have this module and i have the same problem. I watched training videos on RUclips and set up the same circuits, they worked smoothly, but the sizzling did not go away for me. However, according to the videos and the comments made by some people, there is no problem. I guess we are unlucky people :)
    I'll buy another one tomorrow, hopefully it won't break this time.

    • @sharedinventions
      @sharedinventions  2 года назад

      No. It will not work for sure. Big capacitors (in a µF range) are good to buffer energy. We have one on the board for that. It has no effect on high pitch noises.

    the two black aligator clips should not touch. also check the board if there is a short between the 2 negative screw terminals.

      Thanks for the feedback! It is not obvious from the camera angle, but the ground terminals were separated at the test, and I cannot find shorts in the board either.

    Most common noise problem are grounding ; bad insulation; interference etc
    But I'm thinking of human error in this case

    Probably counterfeit capacitors, noise source there.

    • @sharedinventions
      @sharedinventions  4 года назад

      Might be, but it has to be some pF capacitor marching the high frequency noise.

    I put 6.3v 220uf capacitors on each input channels and it resolved the noise to acceptable range almost no noise.

    • @sharedinventions
      @sharedinventions  2 года назад +1

      That is a reasonable idea, worth to try. On the other hand, introducing a capacitor on the signal might also mean filtering out frequencies.

    These things are RF Nightmares. They toss out soo much RF it's not even funny. Terrible IMO. Why do you have the two speakers sharing a common? That appears wrong.
