I love this song so much. It's much more than just a meme as some people take it. There's actual, beautiful, unforgettable melodies all throughout the song, including the solos. It may be a lot at first, but once you hear it enough times, you just internalize everything. I can sing along to every single twist and turn in the song and even the solos. After you get to that point, hearing it is just as easy as hearing a 3 minute pop song.
@@Michael-r8h Think over time they got burnt out on its virality on only being known for it. Their entire catalogue is just as hard and crazy but most people only know Dragonforce for that one song.
@@Dreampeixera Well even with hating it, Herman still react to some covers of it and give credits to some people managing to do it with different instruments or arrangements, so it's not totally like he doesn't want to heard about it anymore haha.
It’s so cool you guys checked out TTFAF! Judson was not expecting the vocalist lol. His head snapped at Richard like “this isn’t harsh lyrics” lol. Got em! I’d love to hear a piano cover of it.
Lol, he does not know about Guitar hero because he was learning Moonlight Sonata and Clair de lune. Maybe he would have understood if you asked him about Piano hero.
I kid you not. I was learning Wish you were here on acoustic guitar yesterday, and then you open this video with that. Spooky. So pretty on piano. Through the fire and flames sounds like the chorus could be the theme tune to a cartoon show, it’s got the feel of adventure.
You can show him Unleash The Archers to see if he's into modern power metal. The video for awakening is cool because it's a live session and they just filmed what they were playing with their hands.
I feel really old that you're not considering DragonForce modern power metal LOL in my mind Dragon Force is modern and hammerfall and Blind Guardian and Stratovarius are old school
@@sakidickerson brother, I'm older than a mountain lol. I was talking "old" in the music sense, even if they are not old, they are closer to classic metal (Dio + gallops on the guitars) than modern influences like djent and groove. metal.

should show him some Blind guardian stuff, got to see them earlier this year and what a show it was. maybe one of the softer songs like curse my name, bard's song or harvest of sorrow before moving on to stuff like mirror mirror, brigth eyes or nigthfall. maybe even one of the longer ones like somewhere far beyond or wheel of time
First time I heard Through the fire and flames, My mind instantly jumped to a sped up version of Garth Brookes, Thunder Rolls and I still hear that today.
Made me love Wish You Were Here once again man, that piano sounds perfectly!!! Make him hear "Heroes Of Our Time", hell of an epic song and lyrics. Greetings from Argentina😎
Some powerwolf would be sick for him to react, between the theatrical feel, the operatic like singing and the keyboards adding a huge layer to the riffs and drums, I think he would dig it. Also, I can't believe he hasn't reacted to Dance of Eternity by Dream Theater that will break his brain. Also we need merch that just says PROCEED RICHARD.
Herman Li is a really fun guy. He has his own RUclips channel and he often posts videos of himself with a guitarist covering the guitar solo to this song. You should definitely try and have a chat with him.
Now that you've introduced him to Power Metal and Japan, show him Angel of Salvation from Galneryus, came out around the same-ish time but it's really different in orchestration, also shows what Japan was doing around the same time/genre and explain why the initial release is Japan
I'm already rubbing my eyes and ears when Judson comes to listen to the speed heavy power metal of X Japan at some point (be it "Kurenai" last live version, "Rose of Pain" or the epic orchestral prog🥳 "Art of Life" live 1993) I think it would be a Japanese speed power metal band that Judson would really enjoy
*Maidiac incoming* Did I hear you mention Band-Maid? Please do! Domination, official live version is my request :D (just subscribed because this I want to see/hear!)

I can never get over how goofy power metal is, despite how monsterous the musicians are. This song was perfect for a guitar hero game, no doubt.... Love how Judson got exhausted during the solos, I was feeling tired too 😂
It was THE song to conquer on Expert in Guitar Hero III back then. And once you've achieved that there was surviving the final guitar battle vs the devil too... And the song fittingly enough was called "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" 😅
Y’all need to check out them doing Fury of the Storm in Japan in 2011, absolutely insane skills and normal speed. TTFAF has a tempo of 206bpm for reference.
Just idea appeared to review My Own Private Alaska band, where piano is the main instrument. For example "Die For Me" song. Very interesting how pianist will react to that.

You should definitely show Judson the Dragonforce song "Where dragons rule" it has one of my favorite piano intro and outro of theirs. As for slower songs, I highly recommend one of their many ballads, Trail of Broken Hearts, A Flame for Freedom and Dawn Over a New World to name a few.
i love the reaction to what i'd call a "meme song" although i wouldnt give the band the credit they deserve. but like richard said, its been everywhere around the internet and i dont wanna know how many keyboards and guitar hero plastic guitars got destroyed and fingers got broken while people tried to play this on the highest difficulty in guitar hero back in the day :D

Judson's reaction to the endless solos cracked me up! Can't wait for the piano cover!!
i know, right? piano cover or riot :D
Glad you did the album version and not the radio cut everybody else reacts to 👏
Yeah, but that cut gives us the music video with the keyboardist headbanging and the "drink my beer while Herman goes on a crazy guitar solo".

Holy shit this is the most apt dragonforce analogy ive ever seen

"No, its power metal"

Helloween "Keeper of the Seven Keys"

ok dont sing it, just do the solo then
