I love this song so much. It's much more than just a meme as some people take it. There's actual, beautiful, unforgettable melodies all throughout the song, including the solos. It may be a lot at first, but once you hear it enough times, you just internalize everything. I can sing along to every single twist and turn in the song and even the solos. After you get to that point, hearing it is just as easy as hearing a 3 minute pop song.
seen these guys on this tour and the 2 guitarists, the bassist, and keyboardist all came together like an X and switched their left hands to each others instruments while the solos and shit were going! I was like, "Holy smokes!!!!"
LOVEBITES and Swan song with the Chopin intre is nice as well and a band that I have started to listen is Shiver of Frontier with the metal "cover" of Beethoven's Eroica
Lol, he does not know about Guitar hero because he was learning Moonlight Sonata and Clair de lune. Maybe he would have understood if you asked him about Piano hero.
should show him some Blind guardian stuff, got to see them earlier this year and what a show it was. maybe one of the softer songs like curse my name, bard's song or harvest of sorrow before moving on to stuff like mirror mirror, brigth eyes or nigthfall. maybe even one of the longer ones like somewhere far beyond or wheel of time
You can show him Unleash The Archers to see if he's into modern power metal. The video for awakening is cool because it's a live session and they just filmed what they were playing with their hands.
I feel really old that you're not considering DragonForce modern power metal LOL in my mind Dragon Force is modern and hammerfall and Blind Guardian and Stratovarius are old school
@@sakidickerson brother, I'm older than a mountain lol. I was talking "old" in the music sense, even if they are not old, they are closer to classic metal (Dio + gallops on the guitars) than modern influences like djent and groove. metal.
I kid you not. I was learning Wish you were here on acoustic guitar yesterday, and then you open this video with that. Spooky. So pretty on piano. Through the fire and flames sounds like the chorus could be the theme tune to a cartoon show, it’s got the feel of adventure.
Some powerwolf would be sick for him to react, between the theatrical feel, the operatic like singing and the keyboards adding a huge layer to the riffs and drums, I think he would dig it. Also, I can't believe he hasn't reacted to Dance of Eternity by Dream Theater that will break his brain. Also we need merch that just says PROCEED RICHARD.
Made me love Wish You Were Here once again man, that piano sounds perfectly!!! Make him hear "Heroes Of Our Time", hell of an epic song and lyrics. Greetings from Argentina😎
*Maidiac incoming* Did I hear you mention Band-Maid? Please do! Domination, official live version is my request :D (just subscribed because this I want to see/hear!)
I'm already rubbing my eyes and ears when Judson comes to listen to the speed heavy power metal of X Japan at some point (be it "Kurenai" last live version, "Rose of Pain" or the epic orchestral prog🥳 "Art of Life" live 1993) I think it would be a Japanese speed power metal band that Judson would really enjoy
Herman Li is a really fun guy. He has his own RUclips channel and he often posts videos of himself with a guitarist covering the guitar solo to this song. You should definitely try and have a chat with him.
I can never get over how goofy power metal is, despite how monsterous the musicians are. This song was perfect for a guitar hero game, no doubt.... Love how Judson got exhausted during the solos, I was feeling tired too 😂
i can‘t help it… since i‘ve seen her cover of this song (and Herman‘s reaction to it), i always have Tina S before my eyes🙃. go check her out if you haven‘t, yet.
I think Judson might appreciate the orchestration in Rhapsody of Fire a bit more but I mean, it will still feel like a lot but at least Turilli is way more classically minded in his playing. Helloween and Gamma Ray are some other candidates where there's some fast stuff but also enough mid-tempo bangers that are far easier to get your head around without doing a line lmao
Now that you've introduced him to Power Metal and Japan, show him Angel of Salvation from Galneryus, came out around the same-ish time but it's really different in orchestration, also shows what Japan was doing around the same time/genre and explain why the initial release is Japan
i love the reaction to what i'd call a "meme song" although i wouldnt give the band the credit they deserve. but like richard said, its been everywhere around the internet and i dont wanna know how many keyboards and guitar hero plastic guitars got destroyed and fingers got broken while people tried to play this on the highest difficulty in guitar hero back in the day :D
It was THE song to conquer on Expert in Guitar Hero III back then. And once you've achieved that there was surviving the final guitar battle vs the devil too... And the song fittingly enough was called "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" 😅
Just idea appeared to review My Own Private Alaska band, where piano is the main instrument. For example "Die For Me" song. Very interesting how pianist will react to that.
Hit him some Seventh Wonder. More specifically, The Edge of My Blade would be a fantastic song. Also, Sonata Arctica, with Victoria's Secret and Don't Say a Word.
Y’all need to check out them doing Fury of the Storm in Japan in 2011, absolutely insane skills and normal speed. TTFAF has a tempo of 206bpm for reference.
You should definitely show Judson the Dragonforce song "Where dragons rule" it has one of my favorite piano intro and outro of theirs. As for slower songs, I highly recommend one of their many ballads, Trail of Broken Hearts, A Flame for Freedom and Dawn Over a New World to name a few.
He should've watched the videoclip while listening to this song. Also, Judson needs to listen to some Faith No More, I think he might really like it, although he may already know them
Judson's reaction to the endless solos cracked me up! Can't wait for the piano cover!!
i know, right? piano cover or riot :D
Glad you did the album version and not the radio cut everybody else reacts to 👏
Yeah, but that cut gives us the music video with the keyboardist headbanging and the "drink my beer while Herman goes on a crazy guitar solo".
@@HeavyTopspin And the hair flips.
Top comment
Specially for a technical song studio versions are a must for reactions instead of any other versions.......
@@HeavyTopspin it misses key parts of the song though, it's not whole
Like drinking from a firehose
Holy shit this is the most apt dragonforce analogy ive ever seen
I don’t care what anyone says, this is a banger.
Funny enough, both guitarrists hate this song.
@@Dreampeixera I'm assuming because they hate having to play it live? I could imagine lol
-They're from Japan?
-No. They're power metal.
😅

Herman Li should react to this :-)
Great rendition of Wish you were here.
For japanese power metal, try Galneryus. Lots of classical elements in some songs
This! Would be cool to hear his take on the song Angel of salvation which is a metal song with lots of themes taken from Tchaikovsky
@@Vreth6 precisely! Thought about that one but it's very long XD although it's probably the best song for them to react to
I would say Struggle for the freedom flag would be a nice one from them
LOVEBITES and Swan song with the Chopin intre is nice as well and a band that I have started to listen is Shiver of Frontier with the metal "cover" of Beethoven's Eroica
X japan rose of pain! Or art of life are good options too
Lol, he does not know about Guitar hero because he was learning Moonlight Sonata and Clair de lune. Maybe he would have understood if you asked him about Piano hero.
Beautiful rendition of wish thou wert hither

100% Seconded!
Just saw them live, they're the best metal band out there. I say that as a die hard Maiden fan.
Yes this need to happen the video is awesome and inspiring
I feel really old that you're not considering DragonForce modern power metal LOL in my mind Dragon Force is modern and hammerfall and Blind Guardian and Stratovarius are old school

Watching him go from giving confused glances to grooving with it was cool.
I kid you not. I was learning Wish you were here on acoustic guitar yesterday, and then you open this video with that. Spooky. So pretty on piano.

Your all's chemistry and humor is very enjoyable to watch. I always look forward to new videos!
Hearing "Wish You Were Here" at the beginning was a very enjoyable experience
That Wish You Were Here piano bit was sublime! Worth the watch just for that. 👌
Love the Shirt!! Also love this video, react was brilliant & thank you for actually playing the full version

I agree
13:26 These moments make me crack up, I feel like I’m watching a therapy session.
Love the Floyd intro. One of my favvvv Pink Floyd tracks. Could've just taken a nap to that.
Nice shirt. Shout out to Dissection. Awesome band and The Somberlain is a incredible album.
Consider Strapping Young Lad's "Almost Again" at some point. Great reaction.
You gotta show Judson a live version of DragonForce, it's even more ridiculous and over the top in person
Beast in Black? Blind and Frozen.. not the same thing but still fun!
You don't need to say anything Judson, the body language said more than you could, even though it's not a usual thing coming from you🤣.
Love Judsons reactions!
Jiminy Crickets indeed! Judson's take on a piano cover would be cool.
I can't figure out which Band-Maid song I'd like to hear. So many of their songs are just good rock tunes.
12:32 "There's a lot going on man."
succinct...
Made me love Wish You Were Here once again man, that piano sounds perfectly!!!
Make him hear "Heroes Of Our Time", hell of an epic song and lyrics.
Greetings from Argentina😎
Tetris on cocaine 😅😁
I'm concerned for Judson's spine
Helloween "Keeper of the Seven Keys"
Day 2 of asking for Diablo Swing Orchestra
Celebremos lo inevitable
Celebremos lo inevitable
Voodoo Mon amour
Superhero Jagganath
The song that Judson played at the begining ufff awesome
Imagine waking up and seeing these guys reacting to one of your favorite songs when you were 12 years old. Made my day
I get the cold in here line, my boy oughta have some goosebumps after that floyd cover.
I been waiting for this moment
Everyone had this song as their profile song on myspace when it came out.
"sing it" he says, lol!
ok dont sing it, just do the solo then
This song gets better every time you listen to it
note* i only love 1 Dragonforce song
this is the content i sub for
Granted it's not heavy metal, but I would love to see Judson's reaction to some Coheed and Cambria!
"Jiminy Cricket, dude..."
Yeah that seems an appropriate reaction!
you have to show him Angra from Brazil
Sweet Dissection shirt, Richard. Love black metal
*Maidiac incoming* Did I hear you mention Band-Maid? Please do! Domination, official live version is my request :D (just subscribed because this I want to see/hear!)
Richard, today is the 30th anniversary of Divine intervention by Slayer
I just gonna leave it here :))
UNBELIEVABLE that I heard live wish you were here 12 hours ago in my town , Rome! Gilmour gig!
Nice!!
Judson needs to listen to some Helloween so he can experience some of the OG Power Metal roots, they have a very diverse catalog.
can you leave the audio of Judson hitting the piano keys during the song in? Would be interesting hearing him nail the notes on the fly
I was thinking the same thing
Richard trying to stay focused and not headbang is hilarious
1:Operation ground and pound
2:Fury of the Storm
3:Black winter night
Many more amazing songs - please do more DragonForce!
You gotta show Judson Fury of the Storm after this joint. Just as fast and bombastic as through the fire and flames
Thanks for Pink Floyd Judson!
Richard, Judson, I’m gonna have a nice lunch break watching this 🗣️🔥
Judson needs a ‘I like noises!’ T-shirt
Or a Oh! Japanese females! t-shirt😅
I'm already rubbing my eyes and ears when Judson comes to listen to the speed heavy power metal of X Japan at some point (be it "Kurenai" last live version, "Rose of Pain" or the epic orchestral prog🥳 "Art of Life" live 1993)
I think it would be a Japanese speed power metal band that Judson would really enjoy
Finally somebody listening full song
I'd love to see a reaction to Yngwie Malmsteen - Far Beyond The Sun Live (With Japan Philharmonic Orchestra)
we need the live reaction now
Herman Li is a really fun guy. He has his own RUclips channel and he often posts videos of himself with a guitarist covering the guitar solo to this song. You should definitely try and have a chat with him.
I remember a top 10 hardest bosses of all time list and the guitar hero 3 version of this chart was on it lol.
They played with Baby Metal.
Helloween is a power/speed metal as well. Show Judson one of their´s songs. ;)
Somewhere out there, Sam is screaming, "IT'S C#!! IT'S C#!!"
I can never get over how goofy power metal is, despite how monsterous the musicians are. This song was perfect for a guitar hero game, no doubt.... Love how Judson got exhausted during the solos, I was feeling tired too 😂

So when's the piano cover coming?
; )
You're right Judson, there's a lot. 😅😅
You should show him Above The Winter Moonlight, it’s got a very old school sound especially with the synth and isn’t one of their standard songs.
He gotta react to my heart will go on next time
i think that Stratovarius - Black Diamond is a very good option if you want to show him more power metal
Now that you've introduced him to Power Metal and Japan, show him Angel of Salvation from Galneryus, came out around the same-ish time but it's really different in orchestration, also shows what Japan was doing around the same time/genre and explain why the initial release is Japan
I think he would enjoy Lordi - Hard rock hallelujah
Power metal and prog metal, also known as "the two subgenres of power that can escape the minor keys."
i love the reaction to what i'd call a "meme song" although i wouldnt give the band the credit they deserve. but like richard said, its been everywhere around the internet and i dont wanna know how many keyboards and guitar hero plastic guitars got destroyed and fingers got broken while people tried to play this on the highest difficulty in guitar hero back in the day :D
Its literally everywhere if this was 17 years ago 😂
I saw Disembodied Tyrant last night. I can confirm that Judson is the 8 string guitar player
Finally!

Let's get some "heaven's damnation" on here richard! 😉
Well it was about time.
Hit him some Seventh Wonder. More specifically, The Edge of My Blade would be a fantastic song. Also, Sonata Arctica, with Victoria's Secret and Don't Say a Word.
I picture knights galloping to battle on horseback when I hear this song. Lol

great shirt
I am here for it….DF
Helloween, please!!!
Allegaeon-Biomech-Vals No. 666 or Behold (God I Am) might tickle his fancy.
Recommend checking out Gamazda - Through The Fire And Flames piano cover, it's quite impressive.
I love it when Midwest Max Joseph and Broke Eminem break out the top shelf shit.
I get it.
