The best part is that there's no way to reproduce the Official Studio version. The "guitar scratch" at the very end was Herman's E-string snapping mid-note! The producer liked the effect so much they kept it.
The Devil went down to Georgia was the actual final boss battle in GH3. A guitarist by the name of Steve Ouimette made a hard rock/heavy metal version of the song in which the the fiddle parts of the song or played using an electric guitar. Y’all should look up the GH3 final boss battle. DragonForce Through the Fire and Flames was DLC but was indeed the hardest song to beat and Xbox 360 had an achievement for beating it on expert called The Inhuman Achievement.
not only was it a DLC song but you got to sample it for yourself in the end credits after defeating the final boss. all in all I miss the golden age of Guitar Hero games where when you beat the game you were given the option to play along with the end credits song while the end credits were rolling.
There were no DLCs back in the day it was the "encore" song, it was the song after the boss battle, the guitarist played atop of a mountain of amps and stuff.
Def not dlc, neither of those songs are in the dlc list, it was always at the bottom of the main song list, Trust me I spent countless hours trying to beat that song, good times.. good times
They're still pretty great live. It's just the singing that might seem off at times at this point, but even then, Marc is still fine. I never witnessed them back then, but the Horrors of Grasspop '09 are long gone
If they want a live reaction they should do Fury of the storm cause the pan the camera away in the solos in fire and flames live, but fury of the storm you see it all and it’s epic
Just getting ready to say this. Just remember, no matter how good you are at something, somewhere there's a 12-year-old Japanese kid that can do it better. lol
Herman Li, the lead guitarist for DragonForce, is a GOD. He's also a good content creator, in the online space. He streams, and uploads a bunch of stuff here on RUclips, usually on the official DragonForce channel. Edit: also for the Guitar Hero parts, the fast notes are really impressive, of course. But as someone that played a ton back in the day, the most impressive part is being able to hit the slow notes. You can muscle memory and zone in on the fast stuff, it's hard to lock on the slow stuff.
I'd love to see you guys react to Nightwish - Ghost Love Score live at Wacken. They are a symphonic metal band and is definitely something different than other metal you reacted to. Also, I love that you guys threw in the Guitar Hero version as well.
Yes!!! Nightwish is my absolute favorite! I have asked them a few times to check out Nightwish... maybe they will soon since I see several people mentioning them. 🤩🤩🤩
Playing in Guitar Hero hurt me fucking fingers to hell and back and I still never finished the whole track. But the lyrics to this song is still so dear to my heart, whenever I feel like I’m up against a hard thing in life I start humming this song.
Guitar Hero was my shit, I had them all. Then it died and I hadn't played it for like 8+ years, had a conversation about old games and trends, remembered Guitar Hero and got nostalgic, learned that Clone Hero was a thing and it was popular and growing right now (about 3-4 years ago) and still going strong today. Discovered channels like Acai, UKOGmonkey, JasonParadise, randyladyman. "Through The Fire And Flames" is warmup compare to how insanely difficult songs exists now. Add overcharts, mod charts and so on. They havn't seen anything yet 😈 I play Clone Hero everyday now at 31, and I'm better now than I ever was when I was like 16 and played Guitar Hero religiously. Like I went from struggling hitting 3-5 notes consecutively to comfortable at expert over summer break (ca 9 weeks here) :P
I played drums recreationally and had a dumb little band in middle/high school… I’m now 21 and play drums on Clone Hero and this on drums is still hellacious
Definitely one of the best tracks to review for reaction to insane guitar skills.. I'm looking forward to the day you guys discover Nightwish and see Floor's completely INSANE vocal range. . . "Ghost Love Score" is one of the best with a killer ending. 🤘🎸😁
Thing is, guys, the "official video" doesn't even have the whole studio solo! If I recall, there was a second part of the solo that wasn't included -- making the whole song at least 7:30 long. And guys, check out Tina S playing this on guitar! She's a freakin' monster on lead! Edit: In case y'all were wondering, how someone gets that good is hundreds, if not thousands of hours of practice, as well as insane pattern recognition. Trust and believe, someone that good? They ain't just gonna pick up GH III and make no mistakes. That dude spent _a lot_ of time playing that game.
Exactly. Me and my friends could all do it on expert, but it was only because we were competitive with eachother and as soon as one could do it on hard, another had to try outdo them by doing it on expert, then another had to get a higher score, etc. ALLL summer long playing the same song over and over just to get better at it than our friends. And if you couldn't beat them at one song you just mastered another and challenged them on that lol.
HOW DID I MISS THIS VIDEO!!!!!! This was great. My buddy played this on Guitar Hero in college and nailed the 100%. We all got together with some beers and watched him for like 3 hours until he hit it hahahaha
I went to two of their concerts with this lineup on their Fire and the Flames tour. It was the most insane concert, spent the entire time in the wildest mosh pit I have ever experienced - especially with this song. Also the Guitar hero version is the full song- the actual clip (for some weird reason) was cut right back.
It always made me smile when rapping FAST started to be one of the ways you measured someone's talent, because we did the same thing with guitar, bass, and drums in the 80s with heavy metal. It was understood that this stuff was hard to play really well, with so many roots in classical music, and if you wanted to really show off, you got yourself able to play really difficult stuff faster than anyone else. Game recognize game, it was the same back then.
I don't listen to much Dragonforce anymore, but I still listen to "Soldiers of a Wasteland." The Bridge/Solo is one of the best guitar pieces I've ever listened to.
Also agree with you about that bridge! I've always wondered how many other people loved it as much as I did. Just something about it that makes me feel like I'm powering up or something like that lol. And I don't know why, but for some reason the very first time (and every following time) I heard that guitar part, I created this whole epic scene in my head of a marshal/cowboy on horseback riding all alone through the dry desert wasteland on a mission to seek revenge or something lol. Also, it was like an epic 80's/90's movie style montage scene 😂🤷🏻♂
You have to react to the GOAT now: Tina S. She has a cover of this that even blew away the lead guitarist Herman Li. Her cover of Beethoven Moonlight Sonata is her best. Her version of For the Love of God is also amazing.
I think what's crazy about Tina S cover is that the guitar solo in this song was DUELING guitars, both Herman Li and Sam Totman, but the track she got had both guitar solos going simultaneously, so she sort of did both parts of the solo BY HERSELF on her one guitar.
Your reactions had me laughing so hard. Starting out headbanging and by the time you were halfway through the song, everyone was just still, staring at the screen with that "wtf is happenning" look lol.
I remember seeing them at OzzFest, I think they where after Chevelle so it was some time ago and when they started ripping everyone in the crowd was just standing in place looking at the stage. In concert, it is unreal how fast these dudes are. It was forever ago but I still can see it plan as day. Incredible musicians
I suggested this band and song to you a while back and I missed that finally did it. So glad you did. The guitar is crazy. But what about that 10 mile run the drummer did. Wow.
Dragonforce is crazy good.....but if you liked the speed "Power Metal" type of music like this then I can highly recommend checking out Unleash the Archers. A couple good songs to look into are Awakening and Tonight We Ride. Love the reaction guys! Keep it up!
you guys have to experience Babymeta - Road of Resistance (Live in Japan) ... guitar parts are created by Herman Li from Dragon Force. Incredible live perfomance by the japanese band called BabyMetal. oh i loved playing this song on guitar hero back in middle school in like 2006, i'm 31 now damn. this song was the last one to play on the game like a final boss.
You guys gotta check out Pantera again. Mouth for War is a good representation of their style (groove metal). Its mid-tempo metal with some swing to it but its still heavy
Groove metal these days is 1000x better than Pantera and Pantera doesn't even sound groovy relative to the current genre. Nor are they heavy like at all in the current day.
You gotta see their live performances (the more recent ones lol). Props to them and especially the drummer Gee because they play like this for hours live
The first time I heard this song I remember being in middle school when it came out and I remember being big and Iron Maiden at the time and I remember when I first heard the song I didn't think much of it at first but then it got to Herman leaves the trading off back-to-back guitar solos and I was sold instantly love your reaction guys and definitely recommend you check out some Iron Maiden for sure songs like Where Eagles Dare the trooper and Run to the Hills will melt your mind

In case anyone missed it like Cartier family did in the vid 5:08 the sound he makes on his guitar sounds exactly like pac man eating pellets around the maze. Dragonforce are well known for making unique guitar sounds including a reving car engine and many other video game references
You guys adopt our stuff, well adopt yours, there is no appropriation, we already appreciate each other. This channel has done more to fight racism than any politician in our generation. Rock on cartier Family
I remember the first night I played Guitar Hero back in college at a party. I literally didn't care about the beer or girls. I was sold on Guitar Hero because I played guitar. I made my damn fingers bleed that night lol. I bought it the next day and played it for days until I finished the game on expert. My 3 roommates were all going for it as well. I remember 2 of my roommates got stuck on "Cowboys From Hell" while my other roommate and I were stuck on "Bark at the Moon." I finally beat it and screamed through our apartment "BREAK OUT THE BEER! I DID IT!" That game was so addictive.
I don't know if they were ever on Guitar Hero, but a group you should definitely check out is Beast in Black. Their song "Blind and Frozen" is jaw-dropping.
The best part is that there's no way to reproduce the Official Studio version. The "guitar scratch" at the very end was Herman's E-string snapping mid-note! The producer liked the effect so much they kept it.

I still play clone hero today man it’s still a ton of fun especially with so many custom songs now
Misfits - Last Caress, Astro Zombies or Hybrid Moments 🤝🏻
My man in the grey hoodie smiling like he just fell in love. I should learn his name, he's my favourite of the bunch. Always good vibes.
“It’s the solo, I’m sorry.” That had me laughing my ass off.
Hey Tae, I played the Michael Jackson dancing game on the Wii too you’re not alone 😂
Same
I remember the first night I played Guitar Hero back in college at a party.
I had to do a performance to this song with choreo, and you’re right, it’s an exhausting practice 😅 obvsly not the same but still.
The head bop cannot be stopped...
