The best part is that there's no way to reproduce the Official Studio version. The "guitar scratch" at the very end was Herman's E-string snapping mid-note! The producer liked the effect so much they kept it.
The Devil went down to Georgia was the actual final boss battle in GH3. A guitarist by the name of Steve Ouimette made a hard rock/heavy metal version of the song in which the the fiddle parts of the song or played using an electric guitar. Y’all should look up the GH3 final boss battle. DragonForce Through the Fire and Flames was DLC but was indeed the hardest song to beat and Xbox 360 had an achievement for beating it on expert called The Inhuman Achievement.
not only was it a DLC song but you got to sample it for yourself in the end credits after defeating the final boss. all in all I miss the golden age of Guitar Hero games where when you beat the game you were given the option to play along with the end credits song while the end credits were rolling.
There were no DLCs back in the day it was the "encore" song, it was the song after the boss battle, the guitarist played atop of a mountain of amps and stuff.
Def not dlc, neither of those songs are in the dlc list, it was always at the bottom of the main song list, Trust me I spent countless hours trying to beat that song, good times.. good times
If they want a live reaction they should do Fury of the storm cause the pan the camera away in the solos in fire and flames live, but fury of the storm you see it all and it’s epic
Herman Li, the lead guitarist for DragonForce, is a GOD. He's also a good content creator, in the online space. He streams, and uploads a bunch of stuff here on RUclips, usually on the official DragonForce channel. Edit: also for the Guitar Hero parts, the fast notes are really impressive, of course. But as someone that played a ton back in the day, the most impressive part is being able to hit the slow notes. You can muscle memory and zone in on the fast stuff, it's hard to lock on the slow stuff.
They're still pretty great live. It's just the singing that might seem off at times at this point, but even then, Marc is still fine. I never witnessed them back then, but the Horrors of Grasspop '09 are long gone
Just getting ready to say this. Just remember, no matter how good you are at something, somewhere there's a 12-year-old Japanese kid that can do it better. lol
Playing in Guitar Hero hurt me fucking fingers to hell and back and I still never finished the whole track. But the lyrics to this song is still so dear to my heart, whenever I feel like I’m up against a hard thing in life I start humming this song.
I'd love to see you guys react to Nightwish - Ghost Love Score live at Wacken. They are a symphonic metal band and is definitely something different than other metal you reacted to. Also, I love that you guys threw in the Guitar Hero version as well.
Yes!!! Nightwish is my absolute favorite! I have asked them a few times to check out Nightwish... maybe they will soon since I see several people mentioning them. 🤩🤩🤩
HOW DID I MISS THIS VIDEO!!!!!! This was great. My buddy played this on Guitar Hero in college and nailed the 100%. We all got together with some beers and watched him for like 3 hours until he hit it hahahaha
You guys adopt our stuff, well adopt yours, there is no appropriation, we already appreciate each other. This channel has done more to fight racism than any politician in our generation. Rock on cartier Family
Thing is, guys, the "official video" doesn't even have the whole studio solo! If I recall, there was a second part of the solo that wasn't included -- making the whole song at least 7:30 long. And guys, check out Tina S playing this on guitar! She's a freakin' monster on lead! Edit: In case y'all were wondering, how someone gets that good is hundreds, if not thousands of hours of practice, as well as insane pattern recognition. Trust and believe, someone that good? They ain't just gonna pick up GH III and make no mistakes. That dude spent _a lot_ of time playing that game.
Exactly. Me and my friends could all do it on expert, but it was only because we were competitive with eachother and as soon as one could do it on hard, another had to try outdo them by doing it on expert, then another had to get a higher score, etc. ALLL summer long playing the same song over and over just to get better at it than our friends. And if you couldn't beat them at one song you just mastered another and challenged them on that lol.
Definitely one of the best tracks to review for reaction to insane guitar skills.. I'm looking forward to the day you guys discover Nightwish and see Floor's completely INSANE vocal range. . . "Ghost Love Score" is one of the best with a killer ending. 🤘🎸😁
I went to two of their concerts with this lineup on their Fire and the Flames tour. It was the most insane concert, spent the entire time in the wildest mosh pit I have ever experienced - especially with this song. Also the Guitar hero version is the full song- the actual clip (for some weird reason) was cut right back.
Your reactions had me laughing so hard. Starting out headbanging and by the time you were halfway through the song, everyone was just still, staring at the screen with that "wtf is happenning" look lol.
Guitar Hero was my shit, I had them all. Then it died and I hadn't played it for like 8+ years, had a conversation about old games and trends, remembered Guitar Hero and got nostalgic, learned that Clone Hero was a thing and it was popular and growing right now (about 3-4 years ago) and still going strong today. Discovered channels like Acai, UKOGmonkey, JasonParadise, randyladyman. "Through The Fire And Flames" is warmup compare to how insanely difficult songs exists now. Add overcharts, mod charts and so on. They havn't seen anything yet 😈 I play Clone Hero everyday now at 31, and I'm better now than I ever was when I was like 16 and played Guitar Hero religiously. Like I went from struggling hitting 3-5 notes consecutively to comfortable at expert over summer break (ca 9 weeks here) :P
I played drums recreationally and had a dumb little band in middle/high school… I’m now 21 and play drums on Clone Hero and this on drums is still hellacious
You have to react to the GOAT now: Tina S. She has a cover of this that even blew away the lead guitarist Herman Li. Her cover of Beethoven Moonlight Sonata is her best. Her version of For the Love of God is also amazing.
I think what's crazy about Tina S cover is that the guitar solo in this song was DUELING guitars, both Herman Li and Sam Totman, but the track she got had both guitar solos going simultaneously, so she sort of did both parts of the solo BY HERSELF on her one guitar.
I don't listen to much Dragonforce anymore, but I still listen to "Soldiers of a Wasteland." The Bridge/Solo is one of the best guitar pieces I've ever listened to.
Also agree with you about that bridge! I've always wondered how many other people loved it as much as I did. Just something about it that makes me feel like I'm powering up or something like that lol. And I don't know why, but for some reason the very first time (and every following time) I heard that guitar part, I created this whole epic scene in my head of a marshal/cowboy on horseback riding all alone through the dry desert wasteland on a mission to seek revenge or something lol. Also, it was like an epic 80's/90's movie style montage scene 😂🤷🏻♂
Fun fact: this song is from the perspective of the demons who go out to battle God’s armies. The demons are tired of fighting and long for victory and peace while watching humans burn in hell. Nice song indeed.
Yes!!! You guys are tasting metal! \m/ I saw Dragonforce years ago in Fort Worth: they play just as fast while deeply imbibing. It was impressive! Metal!!
I remember seeing them at OzzFest, I think they where after Chevelle so it was some time ago and when they started ripping everyone in the crowd was just standing in place looking at the stage. In concert, it is unreal how fast these dudes are. It was forever ago but I still can see it plan as day. Incredible musicians
Dragonforce is crazy good.....but if you liked the speed "Power Metal" type of music like this then I can highly recommend checking out Unleash the Archers. A couple good songs to look into are Awakening and Tonight We Ride. Love the reaction guys! Keep it up!
you guys have to experience Babymeta - Road of Resistance (Live in Japan) ... guitar parts are created by Herman Li from Dragon Force. Incredible live perfomance by the japanese band called BabyMetal. Babymetal is composed by 3 young japanese girls and a freaking band called "Kami band" who is mixing power metal and j-pop music. i'm sure that you are not ready for what you're about to see. Clearly one of the best experience in my entire life is watching this video. you have to react on this one
Bros, let me tell you what the difference between every other video and this one was. Y’all had so much respect for the level of musical talent that you didn’t dare pause the utter chaos coming through your ears. I literally aced this ONE TIME on Guitar Hero 2 and it took me about four months and three guitar controllers. It is absolutely nuts.
I suggested this band and song to you a while back and I missed that finally did it. So glad you did. The guitar is crazy. But what about that 10 mile run the drummer did. Wow.
Thank you to #BrvndonRhone for doing it on his channel! Please CartierFamily REACT to Eminem Ft. Jack Harlow & Cordae "KILLER (Remix)." It's a remix to a song dropped on Music To Be Murdered By Side B (You guys might want the lyric video.) 💜💜💜
You guys gotta check out Pantera again. Mouth for War is a good representation of their style (groove metal). Its mid-tempo metal with some swing to it but its still heavy
Groove metal these days is 1000x better than Pantera and Pantera doesn't even sound groovy relative to the current genre. Nor are they heavy like at all in the current day.
Yes the drumming in this song is nuts as well if you wanna see how nuts I'd suggest checking out Junna and her drumming cover of the song legitimately certified as the drummer from dragon force's favourite drum cover of the song
My favorite Wii game will always be Starwars the Force Unleashed games. You swung the controller to swing the lightsaber, punched with the nunchuk to force push, had lightning and choke abilities, it was incredible
In case anyone missed it like Cartier family did in the vid 5:08 the sound he makes on his guitar sounds exactly like pac man eating pellets around the maze. Dragonforce are well known for making unique guitar sounds including a reving car engine and many other video game references
oh i loved playing this song on guitar hero back in middle school in like 2006, i'm 31 now damn. this song was the last one to play on the game like a final boss.
This song is amazing. The instrumental skill is undeniable but the lyrics are incredible. A true poem brought to song. Read them on their own, sometime.
This is the condensed radio version. The actual song is about 7 and a half minutes long. So yall may want to just watch the lyric video so you can get the full version.
Search for Tina S, if you want to see a 15 year old French girl completely shred both guitar parts of this. It has 30 million views so....yeah it's that good.
Nice to find a channel that has variety of quality content, keep it up bros! Also if you want to be mindblown look out for band called Nightwish and floor jansen , you wont regret it!
Check out Valley Of The Damned, Fields Of Despair, & Once In A Lifetime by them too. DragonForce is considered Power Metal. A lot of the subjects are about different mythologies, vikings, wars, etc. it’s usually uplifting though. You always want to just kick ass after listening to it. Early influences were Dio, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Rainbow, Yngwie Malmsteen, etc. You guys should also check out bands like Gamma Ray, HammerFall, Helloween, Iced Earth, Manowar, Powerwolf, Sabaton, Seven Kingdoms, Unleash The Archers, etc.
Having played Guitar Hero 3, I'd say that if you're counting across all difficulty levels (and most people wouldn't), "Raining Blood" actually beats out "Through the Fire and Flames" due to having a less dense but also less predictable pattern. (Also, the first time I played the latter was over the ending credit sequence, where you aren't scored and can't lose, so it just feels epic no matter how bad you are and that feeling kind of carried over to when you can play it normally.)
Lmao im not ready for raining blood when i eventually make it there on my expert run, i had enough of a shit time with on hard, but that probably wont be for a while, Before I Forget is walling me for some reason
Right at the very start of the guitar solos (around 5:10), you can actually see the whammy bar of Herman's guitar flying off the guitar and hitting the other guitarist (maybe Sam Totman?) - so like TheLastGarou said elsewhere: no real way to reproduce this version of the song - they literally played their instruments to death to make it.
Lemme tell u a true story about DF. They played in a club in germany , like 15 years ago . I worked in this club that time. The asian guitareplayer (Hermann Li) was so drunk , he couldnt even walk alone. Me and another guy from the club helped him to walk on stage. His bandmembers helped him to get his guitar around his neck. But as soon as he has to play , he did it like he never drink a drop of alcohol. We stood there , our mouth wide open and couldnt believe what we saw.
Hey guys I’m a new viewer. I love you guys already, you remind me of me and my friends. Anyways I know this may be a little out of the ordinary for your guy’s normal reactions. However, I would highly suggest you guys checking out soundgarden. Really any song will work but I would start off with something that really shows off there talent. If you guys do decide to check them out I would suggest one of there first big songs called “outshined”. Thank you
Congrats, you have unlocked Level 2. You're now ready for Tina S.'s cover. Can't wait to watch you leaving the room and coming back in sheer disbelief...

This is the condensed radio version. The actual song is about 7 and a half minutes long. So yall may want to just watch the lyric video so you can get the full version.
Take me back to the 5 yr old mw headbanging of this masterpiece🤘
Search for Tina S, if you want to see a 15 year old French girl completely shred both guitar parts of this. It has 30 million views so....yeah it's that good.
Nice to find a channel that has variety of quality content, keep it up bros!
Also if you want to be mindblown look out for band called Nightwish and floor jansen , you wont regret it!
This song i remember from guitar hero it always makes me tear up when I hear this amazing masterpiece of a song.
"heroes of our time" is my personal favorite song of theirs. check it out sometimes
That's why we call it speed metal 🤘🏽
The Devil Went Down to Georgia was a metal cover and it's the final boss song at the end of Guitar Hero 3.
Seein yall geeked up about the talent it took to write and perform that song is truly great
Having played Guitar Hero 3, I'd say that if you're counting across all difficulty levels (and most people wouldn't), "Raining Blood" actually beats out "Through the Fire and Flames" due to having a less dense but also less predictable pattern.
Thanks for listening to it first and not stopping it 100 times mid song...
THAT IT!
IM MOVING THE COFFEE TABLE AND GETTING OUT THE 360
Back in my highschool days around 2007, if you can play this on any instrument you are considered a god.
I was waiting for this song for so long.
