Music Teacher Reacts: DRAGONFORCE - Through The Fire and Flames
While I know the song well, this will be my first time dissecting the way that I do. My editor is in love with this band and has been begging me to react to them and here we are.
Sending Love,

The only thing that hurts my feelings is that there's 2 mins of solos missing. This song and operation ground and pound live are also super fun to watch cause these guys are all epic
There's another guitar battle that is just as epic as this one in Operation Ground and Pound, definitely worth a check out and one of their more underrated songs.
That title is amazing haha
If we go about guitar duels and dual solos my recommendation is Versailles some amazing pieces.
Hey DJ..talking about the drummer, Gee Anzalone..he did a reaction video to a drummer by the name of Junna, and said it was the best cover video he had seen of someone playing this song. Might want to check her out when you have the time.
thats david McIntosh , Gee joined way later buddy
@@hansele666 Gee joined later, but he reacted to Junna's cover and said it was the t best cover (apart from his own) that he'd heard :) But you're right Dave was the original drummer, and one of my fav drummers of all time, total beast.
Definitely check out Tina S cover of Through the Fire and Flames. Herman Li himself reacted to and loved it!
Yes ! Tina S had 15-16 years old on the video. She mastered it.
100% agreed
yes!! she is a phenom...
Cole Rolland was amazing at it too.
I actually saw DragonForce live in 2019 and they were absolutely awesome! I loved it and was in awe
Please react to Japanese female metal band called LOVEBITES, they already toured with Dragonforce back in 2019. LOVEBITES sounds like Dragonforce but with mix of Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Metalica. Recommended songs: Holy War, Swan Song, Edge Of The World
Thanks

Fun is how I tend to describe Dragonforce. Their lyrics are cheesy as hell, but they're all incredible musicians and the songs are just fun to listen to. I could be in a terrible mood then listen to a few Dragonforce songs and that cheers me right up.
As an avid Powermetal fan, I find a lot of Powermetal is like that. Super cheesy but the stuff you listen to when you need a pick me up or just wanna have a good time.
It might be cheesy but damn if it doesnt make me wanna fight evil to save a fantasy world from darkness
A song that touch your heart, always make me cry of how beautiful it is.Grettings from Argentina.
Hearing you talk about Dimebag, I still remember being fifteen and hearing the guitar solo from 10's on The Great Southern Trendkill. Still gives me chills.
Dude I feel ya…. Floods for me. Floods is amazing
@@TempleMusicAcademy the entire Vulgar album is my shit ; i grew up on this album
I can’t believe you had never seen this video before. (“Hold my beer.”) Watch Junna’s drum cover next.
Okay, I'm not even 6 minutes into this and I'm cracking up. My dog thinks I'm nuts 🤣 Love this. Please keep them coming!
Simply jaw dropping
Nice to hear you speak so well of Dime. I went to Jr High with Phil Anselmo (Clifton L Ganus in New Orleans). He got kicked out after a few months (LOL), and went to a different school. After getting out of the Military, I moved back home and hooked up with Phil at a bar called Kagan's on Decatur St (French Quarter). That night he had Dime with him and we sat and drank all night. HAHAHA Dime was ALWAYS very cool every time we saw each other. His brother was awesome as well (RIP Vinnie). The late 1980s till about 1997 was the absolute best time to live in the French Quarter. EVERYBODY lived there and EVERYBODY was like family: Perry Farrell, All of Marilyn Manson, Trent Reznor, Lenny Kravits, and a ton more. Phil didn't live in the quarter as his family owned an Italian Restaurant and he lived by them. Damn I miss those days (beating GG Allin unconscious with a mic stand LOL) Meeeeeeeemoreeeeeez! SHOUT OUT TO THE REMAINING "Alchoholic Sluts" (KISS Cover Band). Hey Glen if you see this!
I've been on a bit of a random journey over the last year - I became aware of the hillarious bassist Dave504 very recently, and then through him The Dooo, and then seen Herman Li through their interactions and collaborations with each other in the last couple weeks.
This is the first time I've actually seen Herman Li playing in a band, and also Dragonforce - as you say, highly entertaining and fun to watch and listen to, loved this
9:23 If I'm not mistaken you can see Herman's whammy bar fly off just as the guitar battle starts.
Edit: Maybe it's just a piece of it? but something flew off for sure
Yea he breaks his whammy
lmao I watched this a million times and I have never noticed it wow thats so funny
that's because he uses the whammy bar to make the Pac Man noise, it was always kind of a mystery to me in the music video because he's not actually shown doing it on camera (that part is simply all black for some reason) but he still throws away the whammy
I recommend this for guitar beginners
Dragonforce! YES! 🔥🔥🔥They are speed metal on speed. Lol. Everything about their style is epic. Love it!
Ok, I'm 34 and going back to all my teenage music, I'm slowly re discovering it. I was a pure metalhead, but by the time I started to listen lot of other music. After I rediscovered the brutal beauty of black metal, now I'm into the bright power of power metal. So, I'm watching this video, and you said watch a video from Nevermore. Man, I MUST THANK YOU. How can I forget Nevermore. Thank you a lot. What an epic times. This moment is very emotional for me. Thank you, really 🙏
The only reason i started learning guitar was to play this song cuz its super cool
Herman and Sam actually wrote the guitar section of "Road of Resistance" for BABYMETAL. They made it super technical and said they were so happy it wasn't one of their songs and they'd never have to play live, but then they played it at least once with the girls from BABYMETAL at some awards show in England, I believe. I know I've seen the video of it on here somewhere. They probably needed a bit of practice to get it down since it was at least a year or two after they originally did it that they were playing it again, but as I recall they had no issues.
This song is just so good and fun. A straight up power metal song you can rock out to, and I have! Never played it on Guitar Hero (never put enough time into the game to get to that point), but I can imagine it was insane to attempt!
As others will tell you there's over 2 mins of solos missing from this version
This is maybe the greatest rock song ever
A react channel with some interesting insights, and a good sense of humor. Carpel tunnel, lol.
What a breath of fresh air.
Cool video :)
The “i do NOT sound like that” was amazing 😂
lets see you do it Teacher
Hmmm 🤔 got me thinking, how about jalapeno ice cream! Love the idea of Salmon! Yum 😋
Another fabulous reaction! :D I just love your sense of humor-and your vast knowledge is obviously amazing!
As soon as I watched this reaction I thought, hes gotta hear Galneryus!! (My apologies if you’ve already reacted to them and I didn’t find it). Anyway, they’re an AMAZING Japanese power metal band with a phenomenal singer and an inhuman guitarist-hell, the whole band is utterly outstanding!
Here’s my initial recommendation: “Angel of Salvation”.
ruclips.net/video/nsi9HEmZl9Y/видео.html
I promise you’ll love it!! 🎸🇯🇵
So, the term you were looking for is referred to as a false harmonic, but you described it well. And yeah, Dime was a master of false harmonics. His signature Washburn guitar was tailor-made for those.
i can finally play this after 2 months of 6 hrs practice of hermans part to get it perfect by ear after almost a year of playing guitar :) it is playable but its hard :D
You should check out Junna's drum cover of this song she's a little Japanese drummer she absolutely kills it and her energy is amazing
Herman Li has a video of some of the guitar tricks and such they use
also there is a Japanese drummer Junna who dose an epic drum cover of this
The guitar War... hold my beer
Funny you bring up salmon taste ice cream....i saw it in the freeze at the local food store earlier in summer, one detail was that it said (in to small letter mind you) that it was for dogs.
Merely a suggestion 😉
I'm sitting here watching a random video of some guy reacting to a song I'm learning, nah don't thing I'll give this guy a like, stops to mention how to do the PAC man noises, refers to the god himself Dimebag, yep, instant fan right here, liked, subscribed, carry on good sir 🤘🤘🤘
Best Shampoo commercial ever.
This Guitar Duel is Great but the 1 from Opperation Ground & Pound is just as Amazing! But even more hilarious.
I normaly just go on Herman Li's Twitch and watch him live! He's so much fun and shit its fast
Now watch them do it live, it's even better / completely insane !
Honestly Dragonforce has so many Great and Iconic songs lol
ZP and Marc are both Excellent, someday I hope to have both of them together on a Dragonforce album.
I am Heavily into Ayreon and often think what a collab would sound like with Arjen writing the Lyrics.
13:34 yes Inhuman Rampage is the name of their album that through the fire and flames was on . So it makes sense lol
All the members in Dragonforce, They're all droids sent from another planet to show on what parts of the instruments they're missing out on lol
You should definitely check out more Dragonforce. Operation ground and pound next or Heroes of our time ?
Some stuff from the newer singer a d drummer as well you should really check out . Edge of the world is an adventure you need to check out for sure. If you want to hear Death metal vocals mixed with high pitch . It's the ultimate prog song. The Game is an awesome track , every song is awesome. Have all the album's they're just amazing.
11:37 I feel like I’m playing sonic vs shadow game lol
Dime bag is timeless haven't checked out many of your videos just wondering if you've done one on Michael Angelo betio anybody that can play left-handed right-handed and a double neck guitar at the same time it's just unbelievable
I haven’t done one on him just yet! I totally should
@@TempleMusicAcademy either floods or cemetery gates
I think you'd enjoy seeing the dooo playing because his bag of tricks even for people on omegle is crazy
Probably a pinch harmonic to do that whammy shit
"when he plays the guitar it looks like he is having a stroke" lmao
Mate, I definitely recommend you to react for dragonforce fury of the storm live. You’ll be certainly amazed.
Wish the reactions to this song used the longer version
about guitar sound, for me lot
of whammy bar and harmonizer 🤔👍👏
Swept and tapped arpeggios and scales lolol
Please check out LOVEBITES - Holy War Live in 2020!
Female metal band from Japan that opened for DragonForce in their UK tour! 🤘🤘
ruclips.net/video/TkNEnNohBsI/видео.html
Looking forward to react on The Dance of Eternity by Dream Theater.
Finally someone who knows that this is a short version and that Guitar Hero is the original length.
Right before the pandemic shut down the world the guys were touring with the highly talented Japanese band Lovebites.
Recommend checking out "Holy Wars" Live 2020... They're inspired by Helloween, Maiden, Priest, Slayer. No more spoilers 😉
ruclips.net/video/TkNEnNohBsI/видео.html
Its funny, you can see in 9:23 his whammy bar fly off, and in the last part in 13:15 I think that sound is from a broke string.......I think his string broke....
You can also react to fury of the storm live
You should check out a parody version by Fraser Edward's called stop saying we sound like dragon force
I think Herman's ring is his sound manipulator that's why you can't see the foot pedal thing
Bru, this is the music video, obviously they are not playing with pedals, because it's not a live record lol
Do a reaction of The Blade by Sion.
Or any other song that is sung by Howard Jones.
Ha!
"Thanks google"
Epic
Another Dragonforce to watch is "Valley of the Damned live" ruclips.net/video/M0TplIeZoYg/видео.html Especially watch the 5:30 to 6:00 minutes
Must do, must do, must do
Lovebites Scream for Me live Daughters of the Dawn
If you want to see amazing sweep picking, 2 of the best guitarists you'll ever see
Must see, must see, must see

Check out Galneryus - Whatever it Takes (Raise our Hands!)

Herman has a line of signature oscillating fans..... Sam has a signature line of beer steins... Gee (not in vid) has a signature line of machine guns.
Hey DJ if you think this is crazy, check out Fury of the Storm, also by Dragonforce
Check out unleash the archers - awakening
yes!! finally a reaction from music experts, I really appreciate your comments on this music genre.
Can you do for the next reaction?
Try to reacts Isyana Sarasvati - Unlock The Key (Official Lyrics Video)
She is our Queen of Progresif Metal, she have basic as a classical/opera musician, and she combined it with some metal parts, sounds interesting, right?
Oh yeah, all the songs, she composed it by her self.
Try to check it out, thanks me later. Cheers ☕😁
Dude should react to Psyopus Insects live.
I wonder if you could melt salmon flavored ice cream over a hot bagel for the equivalent of a bagel with lox / cream cheese 🤔
Solid theory. Or….liquid?
Ya gotta have texture bro, solid for sure 🤤. Damnit now I’m making Homer Simpson drool noises
Mmmmmm. Salmon. Ice. Cream.
React to Iron Maiden - Fear of the Dark live in Rock in Rio 2001
Fun fact, Herman also owns multiple 27 feet guitars for some for high stuff
Fret* damn that about correct
Auto* lmao
Skeletor Souls needs to be either a song or band or both.
This would b so good for a hxh outro
Will there ever be another reaction to DRAGONFORCE? fury of the storm live... I would love to see you react to that...
I think there should be more! I’m glad you guys enjoyed it! ❤️
@@TempleMusicAcademy the Japan one please
Please check out *Kick It by NCT 127!* It is a really interesting combination of R&B, Hip Hop, and Rock. Whats cool is that the guitar sound is actually someone saying something and they pluged it in Alterboy!
Check out awakening, by unleash the archers
This is a song about working your way to carpel tunnel. Lmao.
man nice video, and I recomend you the "2020 em uma musica" from lucas Inutilismo, its friking awsome
It's so good to see Wierd Al still out there singing his heart out.
If you like lots of lead guitar and keytar, Sonata Arctica. Unlike most fans, I won't tell you where to start because every persons' music journey is different. Look for Wacken, For The Sake of Revenge Live and Live in Finland. They have music videos on their channel and tour documentaries. They've been around 25 years this year being their 25th Anniversary. They've had lineup changes. The 1 major 1 that so-called fans haven't moved on from being Jani despite it being over 15 years ago. Jani is in Insominum and Omnium Gatherum and The Dark Element. Tony the lead singer goes hiking with Tuomas from Nightwish.
This may be a year late, but I am so happy to see someone mention Sonata Arctica
Hey 👋 music teacher 👨🏫 question 🙋♂️ when are you gonna be doing a RUclips video on runtime Jonathan Miller told me about runtime and he said Runtime is just the length of time a song plays for. It starts at @ and then stops when the audio is finished and the song is completed. :) so can you please do a RUclips video that explains why runtime is very important in the music 🎼 🎵 industry and also why runtime is very important and also music 🎼 teacher 👨🏫 sir please tell us why runtime in music always on each every track always have to start at 0:00 and stop 🛑 when the audio is finished?
God! I swear it's like watching Weird Al as lead singer....
Sam's a good player bro
React to fury of the storm live vevo
Df are so over the top man. 😜😜
Next react dragonforce fury of the storm
Okay, you’ve reacted to the original. Now your next stop should be two young phenoms who did covers of this song.
The first would be Tina S on guitar. She was a young teenager covering this on guitar and she actually did both guitar solos simultaneously. Herman Li finally reacted to her cover and his reaction was “OH SHIT!”
The second one to watch is a young drummer named Junna who did the drum cover of the same song. Dragonforce drummer reacted to her and his jaw was dropped and he grinned from ear to ear. He also acknowledged Junna’s cover as his favorite. Junna even included a nod to Sam drinking his soda. She is a thunder ball of energy and very entertaining to watch.
You won’t be disappointed with Tina S or Junna!
My brother and I have a rivalry who's has better guitarist better DragonForce or Sabaton. I'm for DragonForce and I'd too see your reaction too[ DragonForce-Razorblade Meltdown].
What's your super power?
Herman Li: full body turrets.
But how is that a super power?
Herman Li: hand me a guitar, hold my beer and watch.
*Shred God Mode ACTIVATED*
OH SHIT....full body turrets
If you haven't then please react to the dooo!!!!
haha so funny....................
Check put Cole Rollands cover 👌
you had me with the ice cream till you said chunky
REACT TO THE DOO
REACT TO THE DOO
REACT TO THE DOO
REACT TO THE DOO
He is the king of finger tapping
Producer: So, how many solos would you like in your song?
Dragonforce: Yes.
Hahahah! Why do you think it's dubbed 'Nintendo Metal'? 🤣
There is speed metal, then there is meth-head speed metal, then there is DragonForce.
try Tina S AAAAAAAAAmazing
Interesting fact - with the song, Herman actually broke one of his strings - but the band still rolled with the recording and used it in the album. So the ending of this song is like 99.99% impossible to recreate (not going to say 100, as I bet somebody will manage it one day). Either way - all these years later, it may be a meme on the internet - but it doesn't stop it from being an awesome track.
What part of the song was that
