On one day, she was walking home from school when she saw people running and heard one singular scream. In those days, you coupled cars together by rolling them down a small hill to gain speed and slamming them into the train. Well, someone had called for a cease to fix something and the other end never heard it. While he was standing in front of the buckle, the car's collided. The buckle locked. It cut him completely in half and his body was crushed in the clamps. However, the pressure of the action left blood flow in the upper body so he was alive. My mom knew him better than anyone so they asked her to talk to him for 30 minutes while they contacted his wife so she could give her goodbyes. From my understanding, that was not a fun conversation at all. However, he remained awake and alive for 40 minutes or so until his wife came, they finished things off, and then they uncoupled the cars, killing him immediately. There was no good solution. Welcome to accidents with trains.
I can see one! CALL THE FUCKING PARAMEDICS, they would have been able to at least stabilize him instead of just going “welp he’s cut in half better call the wife to have her see her husband in pain as well as to see him die”
That black bear definitely was being predatory, but saying that 90% of black bear encounters are predatory is a bit misleading. Most of the time, when you stumble upon a black bear in the woods, it'll run off, as they're very shy and non-aggessive towards humans unless extremely hungry or sick. That being said, you should never take your chances with any wild animal, and if you see one, it's best to either get away or stick close to your group.
I've gone skiing and snowboarding. Falling head over heels down an actual ski slope is bad enough, I can't imagine falling down a friggin' MOUNTAIN. I did accidentally ski off an ice covered boulder twice as tall as me one time, though. I was probably 13 or 14 at the time. Skied right off at full speed, somehow managed to land on my feet. My dad just about had a part attack watching it.

You witness the destruction of everything, the wind already pulling bits and pieces of your surroundings towards the spinning death, and you know its going to get to you eventually. It would be almost apocalyptic, you'd believe if the world was going to end.
Lets say you sleep for 8 hours. Is it possible to spend those "entire" 8 hours dreaming and be aware of it? In other words spending life in a dream. Could we be aware, in a dream, that we have 8 hours to do whatever we want? Also yes, most of the time when we dream, time flies by so fast in the real world. But sometimes it doesn't.
