NONE of these are "haunted" houses at all. They ARE simulated torture which more Torture than anything else. These Torture houses should NOT use "Haunted" in there ads or title(s). I work and build haunted houses every year and I also help run and "act" in them too and we have NEVER nor will we EVER do stupid shit like that.

The thing about Mckamey mannor is that it's not classified as a haunted house. The literal term for it is "your personal kidnapping and torture" the entire town where it's located is actually in on it. It's actually something I want to do because I love stuff like that

im the type of person who physically cant go to haunted houses because my first instinct is to swing.
though if i rewound time to when i tried my first haunted house (i was young i wasn'y prepared) i would most likely end up playing along with the actors. first room was a ghost girl singing-i'd sing along- second hallway was hands that grabbed you-i would have given then a highfive- third room is a guy in a hockey mask and chainsaw-i would have called him a jason reject- and it was the third room young me was done so we went out the entrance.

This list is insane! I couldn't even stand it if one of them just touched me. If they touched me, they would get a fist in their face or worse. I'm just saying, that stuff is just wrong!
The problem is if you hit them you'd get arrested for assault you have no way of protecting yourself besides hoping the employees won't go too far.

I'm all up for haunted houses since I loved to be scared every now and then, especially on Halloween. But I strongly feel that the actors should never touch the patrons. Ever. And agree that these places shouldn't even be called Haunted Houses to begin with.
I would never go to any haunted house that required that I sign a waiver. Fuck that shit. I go out to have fun.
I lived in Ticonderoga New York and the old fort was turned into a haunted house. When I was a kid on of the actors there tried to get in my face to scare me and I pushed them away.
If I went to any of these . . . I’d give them an immersion of a classic beaten. I hate being touched or someone getting in my personal bubble and don’t react well to any of that.

The McKaney manor, or however it is spelled was too crazy for me. I actually got a light beating and was kicked out for busting the nose of one of the people working there. Oh yeah, they use physical violence if you defend yourself. I was screaming out profanity, racial slurs, death threats and all kinds of shit before I threw punches. I am the type of person that doesn't run from the source of fear, or freeze, but I just try to destroy the source of the fear. Whenever there is a spider on my wall or ceiling, I smack it with a show over 50 times. One time, there was a rather large spider on my bed, but I had no shoe nearby, so I took one of the knives I always have within arms reach in case of an intruder and slashed at the 8 legged freak (props to you if you've seen Eight Legged Freaks. It was actually the first movie Scarlett Johansson played in.). There is still a hole in my sheet and mattress, which I am too lazy to fix and too broke to replace at the moment.

The consent form you sign doesn't give you permission to "deck them in the face" It gives them the permission to do what they do. It's your consent for them to do so.
They aren't giving their consent for you to punch them. So that would be extremely illegal and you'd most likely get sued and go to jail for assault.
I'm sorry you disagree with these places but simply don't go to them. Don't advise friends/family to go to them. But you can't and won't stop me or anyone else who WANTS to WILLINGLY go to these places and sign the forms to go to them.

Okay, okay, if there are safe words or the like, then fine, let them go through with it. But what about the one at the very top of the list, the #1 spot? That one has no safeword, and the only way you leave that house is if you're injured and need medical attention. And that's not even mentioning the risk of serious diseases from the forced feeding and such.
I'm sorry, I know it's none of my business. I just don't understand it; are people really so willing to throw their lives away for a *thrill*? The idea that this is how bored we've gotten -- how desperate for stimulation -- worries me. : (

To answer your question Yes some people are willing to go through that for a thrill. Just like some people do Extreme Parkour for thrills. But not everyone wants to. Most people don't. But those that do wanna do it should be allowed and thankfully are allowed.
Even without a safe word I still feel this way 100%. And If you've done research you'll see that many people have gone through the #1 house and came out fine.
At the end of the day you should be able to do whatever you want so long as what you wanna do doesn't hurt or stop others from doing what they wanna do. This included
The most disturbing moment in my experience with haunted houses was when I went to a local event where we were outside in a corn maze and I was with my brother. There was this guy that stepped from out of the crops into the pathway and he had a chainsaw. He chased until my brother yelled the safe word (ᵕ≀ ̠ᵕ )
McKamey is extreme torture in its own way. It shouldn't even be considered "haunted", more like "fucking life terrifying torture experience". I would only go into one of these if you gave me a glock. But seriously, I would never, and I mean NEVER go into that place. Fuck that crazy ass shit.
I would love to go in it... With:
1. Bronze knuckles.
2. 5 knifes.
3. SWAT gear.
4. A U.S MARINE.
5. 3 fully loaded revolvers.
6. 99 bottles of pepper spray, because fuck it.

Once you willingly sign that waiver they can do whatever it says they can do. It's 100% legal and protected by law

No waiver can protect someone against holding someone against their will that is illegal no waiver can change that once you want to leave and do not allow you to do so you could sue them. Just hire the right lawyer. These places should be illegal.
@@jacob41057 Except stuff that can violate health and safety laws they should keep some of that shit artificial (I.E the Urine should just be apple Juice or something) also some of the fears can cause people to pass out from the fear which could put them in danger.
I work at Nightmare on 13th in Utah. These "haunted houses" you've seen. They're not haunted houses but torture houses. I mean if it works for you great, but i think it's much more worth it, to go to a real haunted house that can scare you like that, without going to the torture route. I've made people fall to the ground, i made them scared so much they kicked and punched me (accidentally) to me, that's more impressive.
Same, I've made someone go into the fetal position in a corner and he started crying. It was fitting because it was Halloween night and the place had a huge line outside so I had my work cut out for me

I don't know who I feel worse for at McKamey Manor, the patrons or the workers. At least the patrons only have to go through once.
Scare kingdom in the UK had me traumatised for weeks but it still effected me for 6+ months
When i was a kid there was this trailer. Going in you could grab a candy or a spider ring from a table that cuts the trailer in half lengthwise. It was filled with fog and on the other side was a guy dressed as a demented chef. He wielded a large butchers knife and said "Go ahead!!! Take one!!!" being 5 i was terrified and ran out sobbing
I can really recommend "Ghost Assasin" and Gorgeous Freeman. Especially the second one, if neither of you is a Starcraft fan :)

I loved rollercoasters, though I until I was 14, I was too terrified to go on upside down ones. But when I finally did, I wanted more. Then a famous rollercoaster at my local theme park had a crash, causing girl to loose both her legs. This crash had happened just a month after I had gone on that same rollercoaster, and I had had nightmares about it and how it could crash at any moment with me on it. I guess that crash knocked me off the deep end, even though I wasn't even in the park at the time it happened. I haven't been able to go on even a small rollercoaster since, the nightmares are just too much stress for me to even try.

I feel like Haunted Houses should be legally required to have a Safe Word.
i'd rather fall down some stairs and break something before i'd go in a place like that. i can't do it anymore after that time i got chased by a guy with a chainsaw. i was so scared and upset that i had to be carried out by someone. i'm the type who would forget the safe-word and end up in the hospital or something.

Martin D. Honestly It hasn't changed. I think these types of places are perfectly fine because it's all about consent. If i wanna pay to go through a place like that I should be allowed. No one can tell me not to.
Me signing up and paying to go through that hurts NO ONE but ME!! No one else is being forced to do it if I go. Or if any other individual decides to go for that matter. It's our choice not anyone elses.

I actually had a friend that went into #1 I'm way to big of a pussy for that, but they only took him out after a few hours when he had a panic attack and basically couldn't breathe.
I'll just stick to Universal Studios and their Halloween Horror Nights. Last year they had an Alien vs Predator themed maze and it was fucking awesome. Imagine walking into a barn and boom there's a Queen Xenomorph towering over you. I'm a nerd for practical stuff like that.

The basement haunted house is very much legal. You can only enter if you're 18 or older. Every guest signs a waiver, and there is a safety word. Each guest is given a safety word if the experience becomes too much. That being said, the basement doesn't actually torture you it just feels like it does.
It's completely legal and safe. You are not in any real harm. If you were, then this place would be shut down immediately. The only place that needs to be shut down is Macamey Manor.
