- This video covers a new method that I discovered which allows for one to Dodge and Perfect Block 100% of the time. By following the strategy that I talk about in the video, you could potentially go through the game and take almost zero damage. You’re using the guard command.
That makes you block regardless.
You can see in the “before using strategy” clip. You blocked everything that wasn’t dodged. Same as after.
That’s as intended. You’re giving up your attack to guarantee a block, and pressing the guard button at the right time gives a dodge.
The “70-90% if you want to guard”… that’s just missing the input and letting it do what the guard command does. Putting the controller on the ground for that attack would have the same effect
But you cant just guard all fight. You need to attack.

Dexterity is the stat that affects dodge rate, not Agility. Agility only affects turn order, and only occasionally (the types of jobs used precede Agility).
You are also at the level cap throughout the entire video, which inherently affects the amount of Dexterity you have. Actually doing this strat with a fresh file in a speedrun (which barely levels at all) would have given this video far more merit.
And even then, you will realize that you can't guard forever. This is basically useless unless it is found you don't have to use Guard for that turn at all.

Dude, you’re just guarding the whole time. That’s not a game breaking strategy, that’s a feature people have known from day one - the window for perfect blocking is larger when you activate guard at the cost of being unable to attack, i.e., you’d do better to activate guard for 2-3 party members and have Kasuga and Joon-Gi running crit damage.

So, it’s basically you press the circle ⭕️ button when the enemy is able to lunge an attack at you ?

As to your question, yes you press the right face button (circle button if on Playstation) right around the halfway point of the animation of the enemy attacking you (anywhere between 45% to 60%) if you want to dodge the attack. If you want to Perfect Block the attack then you need to Press the right face button somewhere between 70% and 90% through the duration of the enemy's attacking animation. I hope this helps! This video makes no sense since you keep hitting guard as your turn....which will always be a perfect block or miss.
Thanks for checking out the video! As to your statement, you are incorrect. First I will explain that the reason I am even guarding is in order to "waste" my turn in order to make the battle go faster and have the enemies do their turns which I intend to either dodge or perfect block. Now to explain guarding: guarding does not ensure either a perfect block or dodge; it simply reduces the damage you take. If you do not click anything after guarding and you get hit, it will not say perfect guard, meaning you did not perfect guard. If you do nothing and get hit 15% of the time you’re gonna lose every fight…..
This might be weird, but it could explain that dodging i was doing back then during the yokohama dungeon.
When the enemies were attacking, i spammed the circle button like no tomorrow in order to perfect guard when the enemy was attacking, and i was noticing i was dodging more than usual, which was pretty weird. Of course most of the time was perfect guard, and also it depends on your agility regardless of the timing, but still, it was odd.

The real question is why dodge is easier then pb despite it being worthless

How would I practice at this? I’ve been trying to dodge and I’ve been getting no luck.
your character must have high agility stats .
To practice, it depends on your party's strength, but just go to any battle that you essentially take no damage and will be able to survive without attacking for 50+ turns then just do as I do in the video and have all of your characters guard over and over and when it becomes the enemy's turn and they attack you, then do as I say in the video to either dodge or perfect block: Dodge being press guard 45-60% through enemy attack animation and Prefect Block being press guard 70-90% through animation. @@usercurrentlymissing For the strategy demonstrated in the video, high agility is not a requirement. It does help if you miss the timing window as then the game will roll your evasion chance which is influenced by Agility, but this strat for Dodging is essentially a glitch, and the strat for Perfect Blocking is based on the game's input lag and just how the game determines when the enemy's attack made contact with your characters. You can’t “practice”. He’s just using the “guard” command. It makes you guard, and dodge if you tap at the right time, but at the expense of attacking.

Why/how do you have the class symbols in the skill list?

As to your question, the job symbols you are seeing in the skills list is because those skills are skills that come from the job indicated by the symbol, while the skills with no job symbol are character specific skills that you get by leveling up the character. In case you are not aware, each job has two skills that can be acquired by ranking up the job and once acquired, those skills can still be used even if you switch jobs, I call them universal skills. They are indicated by a red circle to the left of the skill name when viewing the skills list of a job and if you want to know more about this, I go over Jobs in a lot more detail in my video on the Best Jobs for every character. So that is why you will see multiple job symbols in my skills list because even though I only have the character on one job at a time, I have acquired multiple universal skills on all of my characters. For leveling should I stay in my first game and level first? Or go straight into new game plus I need a in-depth vid specifically on what to do straight away after beating story I feel like no one talks about this

I have been informed that by increasing the difficulty you gain more XP from defeating enemies so maybe that would be useful as long as it does not considerably slow down your ability to defeat enemies. I beat the game so long ago and I do not quite remember what your options are right after beating the game. This video is pretty misleading seeing as how different attacks whined up in different ways so it's hard to get a perfect guard at different times but honestly the thing that killed me about this video is the music, You're trying to show people how to guard in an action game and you have it sounding like you're reading sad stories online.

@@tharakornkanchannel1975 Yes to fully upgrade a weapon to EX EX, it will cost around 100M yen. That might sound like a lot, but by using the methods listed in my video on the Best Money Farming Methods in the game, it should not take you long.

@@tharakornkanchannel1975 Well it depends on how strong your party is and how fast you can clear the tower. If you are strong enough, then the fastest method would be clearing the True Tower, but for most that takes too long and requires too much focus to be an effective farm. Clearing the Final Tower is pretty good as well, but how fast can you do it? If you are still taking 30 mins to an hour to clear it, then the Sotenbori Battle Arena with Megumi method I show in my money farming video would maybe be better for you. I hope this helps!

Thanks for checking out the video and I am sorry for your confusion. To try and write in words the method, if you press the right face button on your controller (circle button for PlayStation) at 45%-60% of the way through the enemy's attack animation when they are attacking you (works against basic attacks, skills, and debuff status applying moves), then you will dodge the attack. Alternatively, you can press the right face button at 70%-90% through the enemy's attack animation if you want to Perfect Block instead. The timing windows, especially for dodging, are pretty tight and will require memorizing the attack animations of all enemies in order to master it, but it is well worth the time considering it would allow you to go through the game and take almost zero damage. The reason I said almost is because you can't apply this method to perfect guard or dodge the cinematic attacks of bosses. I hope this clears up any issues! But dodging will just take up an action, that will make the fights last much longer. If there is an advantage to using up actions to dodge, you didn't explain it in the video.
dodge occurs during the enemy turn, not requiring the player to use guard/dodge as their turn's move.
meaning, you should still be able to hit the enemy and perform the dodge strategy altogether.
@@dudestop5331 Yes but you would only get to attack on your following turn b/c you'd use up a turn dodging anyways. So it still just elongates the fights when instead I could be doing damage
@@ReneeTopanga They say "guard" in the video, but they don't mean the guard action that happens during your turn (appears on the right side of your actions), they mean the same button you use to perfect block during an opponent's attack, which should've been in the tutorial.
They only select guard during their turn because it doesn't have an animation, so it speeds up the video. You can do this without using up your turn selecting the guard action

How to get sarfifice stone
Thanks for being here! As to your question, there are only two ways to get sacrifice stones that I am aware of and you can only get one from each way and sacrifice stones are one time use so you can only use them twice in the game and then they are gone. The ways to get them are from a gold safe in Kamurocho and from a Part Time Hero Rescue Quest.

@@tharakornkanchannel1975 For the Final Millennium Tower, no just having max level and max Job rank should be enough on its own. However, for the True Final Millennium Tower you will need at least max level and 2 max jobs for each character, unless you want a really tough experience. It might be possible to use the strat I show in this video to make it through most of the tower earlier than you would be able to otherwise, but you will find yourself in trouble when you run into the bosses who do cinematic cutscene attacks that can not be perfect blocked or dodged.
