The way the game's designed the non-base classes are actually viable and none of them are low tier by endgame. The only person who really needs to be in his base class to top tier wreck is Kiryu tbh
Barmaids ultimate weapon increases skill damage but increases mana combine with armor that powers mp cost . I use barmaid and bring over idol , housekeeper skills as well as scattering of flowers from kunoichi
I like Zhao with breaker. With the weapon that gives Mp on buffs. And the accessory that heals on buff. You can top yourself pretty easily. Zhao's gangster class also has some breaker like skills but a heavy damage. But what I like is hangman twist. Which buff the team with CRIT chance.
Depends on how much time you want to spend on farming those stat boosters, the best job for each character could change entirely in this game. Stat booster are so fast and easy to farm in Yakuza 8, since some mini bosses in Hawaii and Ijincho 100% drop these boosters, and these bosses DID respawn with just a few simple taxi resets (premium adventure only) The term you use "super late game". not sure what about your current stat on everyone. But for mine. i manage to reach 2000 magic for Kasuga, and 2000 atk for Kiryu, 1k agility for both to make sure they go first (agility not the most important, i just want to go first), my usual combo would go like this: Kasuga: Dondoko beam --> The ladies use Substitution jutsu on Ichiban --> Dondoko beam again Kiryu: Dragon god / Ultimate / Relentless Dragon's Dance --> Substitution Jutsu ---> Dragon god Most legend bosses would die in 1 or 2 shots with this combo Considering the above strategy, i would say CHEF is the most OP job for Kasuga because of it's 7-star weapon. It increase skill damage. you won't notice the difference when the stats are low, but trust me, when your magic reach above 1k, the difference in damage is HUGE. Chef could work for Kiryu too, but action star feel better to me, cause it has high HP, and the unique 7-star weapon of action star increase physical damage, which is everything Kiryu needs. For the ladies, just use Kunoichi because it has the highest Agi stat, and substitution jutsu ofc. If you just want to play the game casually, then i really agree with most of your choices, especially Chitose, my favorite gal :D
Always use Chef for Kiryu so he can use his Essence of “I am the manager” and proceed to beat up every Karen in the area. It’s not about being viable it’s about sending a message to all those who dares to complain about Chef Kiryu cooking
Adatchi's best Job is the action star, no question. With the best weapon, increasing his attacks massively, and some attack boosting gear, using heavy beat down is like 3000 damage. On top of action stars move being able to double your physical attack on your next turn, using sub jutsu he can attack for 6000 comfortably. Plus he's a beast so his health is massive too.
I love de concept behind Dragon of Dojima, but it suffers of the same issue as Sujimancer, the lack of a weapon. Weapons are just too strong in this game, no weapons means less damage and no brands, my Kyriu ended up as a Samurai. Anyway this game is not hard to a point where you need to go full meta, so i say just play what you like.
Linebacker is my favorite choice for Adachi though I agree that Samurai is another decent option. With linebacker he has a massive amount of health and it’s fun to get the enemies mad at him while the rest of my party nukes. This worked well against the final boss on the island. However, I mostly use him because he makes me laugh.
I'm sure I mention it in the video but I can't remember. I don't use the linebacker or tennis ace jobs so I didn't consider them for this But I've heard a lot of people say adachi linebacker is great
I did find it interesting though that while Adachi is overall pretty mixed on base, his Arrest skill is good if you just need to get a non-boss goon who won't evade (or if they can, are stuck in place via a status effect) out of the fight ASAP, you could absolutely cheese level gaps if you abused this, and Detective's Grit could certainly feed into the tank role they want you to try and prop him into, but I think could be an overall good emergency button if he suddenly takes a butt load of damage and he's GOING to die unless you use it.
I dont know why but for some reason I love Aquanaut on Tomizawa. I doesn't play to have the best builds just to have fun and I have Aquanaut on Tomi cause i think it fits him well.
aquanaut on zhao is really good because with his armor and the best weapon at max hp you do insane damage, even higher than samurai adachi. To top it off you can heal when you're not full hp so you're also helping out the party bring over hangman's twist from breaker, the heal from gangster, explosive arrow from samurai and some blade skill (at max bond that super from pyrodancer should do a lot of damage) and there you go I feel like if you use anything else there's no point because there's someone that can do it better
Desperado is the only class that has fire, water, pistol, blade, healing and grapple. The only one missing is electric damage, you should get it from another class as a inheritance skill and you have something to tackle literally any enemy.
In my playtrough, I made Tomi an aquanaut, Saeko an idol, Kasuga a Desperado, Seonhee a Night Queen, Chitose a Tennis Ace. Adachi is still a Detective, Zhao a Samurai, Kiryu is an action star, Nanba a pyrodancer and Joongi has his original job.
My jobs in the finale chapter: Ichi: Aquanaut Adachi: Linebacker Chitose: Housekeeper Tomi: Desperado Joongi: Hitman Kiryu: Dragon of Dojima Saeko: Idol Nanba: Host Seonhee: Tennis Ace Zhao: Samurai I've played with all jobs minus the ninja one, Night Idol, and Breaker. I think they did a great job with most of them and all can really succeed depending on the role you want to give each character, especially considering you have freedom in which skills you want to inherit (Host Nanba with powerful Homeless Guy skills is S tier). Been watching your videos for about a week now. Finally just subbed. Next video, upgrading weapons to their ultimates guide. I can't find any videos on where I need to farm and how to upgrade each weapon to its ultimate form. I noticed the beat weapons are leveled from 5 star weapons.. I'm confused lol.

You talk about ultimate weapons and armor a lot in this video but i think you glance over 2 of the most important, Aquanauts Ultimate Armor Poseidens Wetsuit grants him the ability to not worry about resistances when attacking, making it an amazing choice on kiryu, not to mention his ability to become a powerhouse with magic AS WELL as physically while healing and buffing, also Ocean Kings Board reduces Ice Resistance so if you have Tomi Chitose or any other frequent ice dealer it adds up. Aquanaut is Kiryus best job imo The second one you didnt even touch on is Zhaos Ultimate Weapon The Treasured Sword Of Heaven And Earth and let me tell you this thing just shits out damage, having the same Ability as Posiedens wetsuit allowing you to not have to worry about resistances on split attacks (i.e Fire Arrow Resists gun but not fire counts as full resist) Combine this with the Fact Gangster Zhao has one of the highest attacks in the game and you have Gangster Zhao Clocking in as one of the strongest physical Attackers in the entire game, also Blinding Viper is the only move in the game that drops accuracy so when combined with a seal of debility EX hes incredibly strong against bosses especially those with lots of resistances
Ignoring resistances isn't very strong. You want to be exploiting weaknesses not just doing normal damage vs things normally resisted. Ichiban suoer beam beats everything in the game anyway imo
For example Big Swell Right tentacle resists fire but is weak to gunfire, Big Swell left Tentacle is weak to Fire but strong against gunfire, so I can't use Burning Arrow on one tentacle or the other without doing minscule damage, this is a problem for all physical attackers besides Zhao and Aquanaut Kiryu, with attack buffs, Zhao is doing somewhere around 4k damage a hit with +50 and attack buffs and Kiryu is throwing out Unresistable Ice Pine Bamboo Plum into Unresistable Ice Shadow Dance the damage starts adding up If I wanted to spam Dragon God (also Unresistable) and Dodonko Beam all day, I would. But why Even try new team setups and compositions in the first place if that's how you decide to play, Just discovered what an absolute monster Seeonhui is on Tennis Ace with Assassin and Kunoichi Skills. May Even be better than assassin I'll have to upgrade her Needles to 50 and see
@gabeolson817 the issue is the game is so easy there is no need to worry about resists. I just 2 shot both tenticals and 2 or 3 shot thr big guy without even looking st resists. Maybe if resists were stringer and enemies had more hp it would be good but as it us just summon and use dondokobeam = win
I personally think 2 things here. First: I think you overvalue revives, support abilities and homecooked dim sum being Zhaos’ only good reason for him being. Second: Undervaluing Idol and it’s personal armour. Having idol with massive AOE defence debuff with a chance to charm on the turns you don’t need to heal is good BUT the strength comes strictly from not needing ANY healing on other characters. Letting everyone else focus purely on damage. This is where Zhao comes in as one of the best damage dealers. With low agility he acts last always. Letting the idol heal him back to full giving him double damage on physical attacks making him basically the single best physical attacker with any class (desperado is my personal choice for Devil Twister) All in all though I don’t think anything you said is wrong necessarily because personal bias will always dictate a bit of this stuff. Good video, enjoy the content and also Nanbas personal gear is dogshit, just have an idol to heal back to full with 1 cast of concert.
@@purplatypus7405 I mean it does it’s job and it’s obviously best in slot if you’re using him as homeless guy but any other class I wouldn’t use it. Also what’s the thoughts on the rest of what I said? Not trying to be argumentative just discussing :)

For kiryu go action star for the move that doubles your next physical move, and use essence of dragon god to 1 shot a lot of encounters. Worked really well on my underleveled ng+ legend run
Awesome video my friend. Any chance you could let us know what Sujimon you have equipped, and where to get them, and also, how much of a time commitment is required on Dondoko Island to get the Beam. I ask because I am not a huge fan of Dondoko, so I would like to know how long I have to torture myself to get the Beam lol
I have videos that touch those topics maybe not directly but are close. The dondoko takes roughly 5-10 hours The sujimon are the legendary ones. I used legendary musk I got from beating the side quest
@@purplatypus7405 Awesome, thank you so much 😊😊. I might have to forgo the beam since I just don't find enjoyment in Dondoko and probably won't get into NG+.
Dragon of Dojima lacks weapon, so my Kiryu ended action star, which synergies pretty well with his DD skills. Hmm... Joongi has been a tricky one for me... he lacks power/strenght in hitman, as well as in gunner. Sooooo he went Samurai for me. Because he is naturally fast, so Samurai's lack of speed didn't cripple him too much. Seonhee has been my night queen... Kunoichi lacks strenght and as a night queen (with some kuno skills), she's been able to hit as hard as her masculine counterparts... Ichiban works surprisingly well as a chef with the ultimate weapon being so broken, even though he is a little glass cannon.. Adachi, don't know, he went through every class with me, but he never shined... :/ Tomizawa is good as a host, but he is not the magical powerhouse Nanba, Saeko nor Chitose can be. Chitose works better as a magic user surprisingly... I kept her as heiress or kuno for too long.... too bad... Zhao lacks speed too... especially in his gangster class, so I always kept him as a pyrodancer and he did pretty well, always hitting fast and hard. For me, Pyrodancer is THE class you can always put characters you don't know what to do with ;p never a bad choice ! Samurai and chef are mostly good for their skills, but I would not recommend keeping anyone in those classes. (or only a few exceptions)
No way. What makes something a best class for somebody are the attributes of the best weapon (and armor) in the game and how they effect certain abilities. Any answer that's not Cabbie Tomizawa, Kunoichi Chitose, and Assassin Seonhee feel off. Housekeeper Saeko is an acceptable answer, though Barmaid Saeko is really good if you want consistent high damage against everything, including the Amons.
Each character and generic job as a armor only it can equip. Most of the character armors are pretty easy to find by playing through the game and opening thr chests in the final areas of the main game. The others I made a short video on explaining how to get them but a online guide will give more specifics as mine was pretty generic
Pyrodancer having lifesteal and chef having bleeding abilities on Samurai would help with the 7 star weapon making status last longer. Idol is a job to take skills from there's going to be turn where you don't need to heal and you could be on a damaging job with healing skills carried over. Tennis Ace gives you AOE attack and magic down. Adachi if hes a tank needs linebacker since it gives abilities for him to gain aggro. Also you said your not using linebacker but you have it level 28 on Nanba
I mention it on nanda. I'm not using linebacker I had it equipped on him so I could read the abilities while he was on my backline. I've never actually used it. Same situation with sonahee and tennis ace
The later in the game you are the more worth it it is. In legend mode I can level a job up to 30 in one fight but I wouldn't spend hours grinding in the early game.
Objectively this is very wrong and you should feel ashamed! No it's totally fine she is very powerful on that class I just like how synergistic her special armor is with the geodancer ultimate weapon. For most of my playthrough Chitose was a kunoichi
Hi!) Can you answer one question please. Is it possible te get hello worker job back somehow? I wanna rise it to the max,but it changed to freelancer at some story point. Thanks.
If you want the hello worker outfit, sadly it's too late, as it was a emailed code to players who signed up to the newsletter, if you are talking about the skills and all that, freelancer and Hello Worker are the same
Question, I hear you say "Unique Armour", at each character, does this mean the unique job armour, or does each character have an unique piece of armour themselfes? If so, where can I find these pieces of armour?
@@devwallee2008each job has their own ultimate weapon (7 star) which is the strongest weapon for their respective jobs as they have the highest damage stats and good unique effects. The get their ultimate weapons, you need to craft them and the materials required to craft one are usually their base ultimate weapon (5 star), some crystals, one empty cough drop tin, and either a shark fin or a squid tentacle. For Ichiban, I'm creating a Hero/Sujimancer build. By ranking up Sujimancer class so I can inherit its skills into my Hero class. Meaning I'll have busted blunt attacks, busted status ailments, busted healing and buffing (cause of his personality gimmick), and busted AOE special moves. Truly the best of both worlds.
sure. any character can be an ok chef however chef I think is not good until the late game when you get the big weapon/armor and can bring over better skills.
Im using Sujimancer as well now on Kasuga its just way better than hero if you have all kiwami's the default class just do every types of elemental damage, support like natural hight ive tryed it was regenerating 350 hp per turns lmao so good but hard to set up cause a weird circle but hes big, global revive /heal, and utlimate of 80 mp just select everyone like Kiryu dragon god strike, very saled default class if well invested.

I love playful splash with the jelly fish
I personally think 2 things here.
First: I think you overvalue revives, support abilities and homecooked dim sum being Zhaos’ only good reason for him being.
Second: Undervaluing Idol and it’s personal armour. Having idol with massive AOE defence debuff with a chance to charm on the turns you don’t need to heal is good BUT the strength comes strictly from not needing ANY healing on other characters. Letting everyone else focus purely on damage. This is where Zhao comes in as one of the best damage dealers. With low agility he acts last always. Letting the idol heal him back to full giving him double damage on physical attacks making him basically the single best physical attacker with any class (desperado is my personal choice for Devil Twister)
All in all though I don’t think anything you said is wrong necessarily because personal bias will always dictate a bit of this stuff. Good video, enjoy the content and also Nanbas personal gear is dogshit, just have an idol to heal back to full with 1 cast of concert.
I've seen nanba not die over a dozen times thanks to thst armor. I think it's a bit busted
@@purplatypus7405 I mean it does it’s job and it’s obviously best in slot if you’re using him as homeless guy but any other class I wouldn’t use it. Also what’s the thoughts on the rest of what I said? Not trying to be argumentative just discussing :)
8:51 damn I didn’t know Adachi was him 😂
I like pyrodancer on tomi early game for aoe regen and ailment cure, saved my but in some of the harder fights on that chapter, cabbi was great for its jawbreaker move when i just couldnt hit weaknesses to
yo nice videos ! i wish you made a guide or a list of best/ top wepons and gear to the most op jobs
I talked about that stuff in the job breakdowns but no need for a video on them. Each job had an ultimate weapon and a unique armor those tend to be BIS
I have Adachi assigned as Desperado and that is powerful
Great Info Plat. Is there a video on the skill inheritance you used for Chitose?
I am using Zhao with samurai job, dragon ascension from his base job and cutlery slash from chef . I think he is pretty busted in every scenario .
I find most characters are busted but I found him less busted than some others personally.
@@purplatypus7405try Zhao with his gear jacket extra DMG if his health is full . He deals gr8 DMG only second to kasuga.
In this video you meationed character specific armor
And job at our
I know I can get job arnour from dungeons from your other video
Wher is there character specific armor you mentioned not job based
That part I don’t get
I using all your the best jobs as you say in this video
Just trying to find that character specific armor
You talking about about armor they start off with in game?
Can you explain that please?
This is helpful. Thanks.
I think Night Queen has a physical lighting hit, but that’s not terribly helpful for Kiryu
For kiryu go action star for the move that doubles your next physical move, and use essence of dragon god to 1 shot a lot of encounters. Worked really well on my underleveled ng+ legend run
Yeah thats what my new video was showing off. its kinda nutzo
@ratchet2007 less mp used
@ratchet2007 beyond MP save it also increases total damage done as it gives you more time to buff or debuff enemies
The dondoko takes roughly 5-10 hours
The sujimon are the legendary ones.
Tomizawa is good as a host, but he is not the magical powerhouse Nanba, Saeko nor Chitose can be.
You might not find this shocking but I don't agree with your take.
i use idol for chitose

who is the best for the desperado job?
Probably joongi or kiryu
You mentioned a few players armors. Did they have custom armor I missed out on when upgrading?
Each character and generic job as a armor only it can equip. Most of the character armors are pretty easy to find by playing through the game and opening thr chests in the final areas of the main game.
The others I made a short video on explaining how to get them but a online guide will give more specifics as mine was pretty generic
Outside of Kasuga and Kiryu, the women are far stronger characters than the men.
Honestly they have so many buffs and can take down crowds easily.
@@purplatypus7405 Sonahee is a great Tennis Ace. Grand Slam is a must have.
I believe you I just am not using those jobs@@txgoldrush
Nah icl i 1000% enjoyed freelancer the most for ichiban, dealt the most damage in my hawaii team easily
Is it worth leveling a few jobs to 30 for each character or just focus on one job?
The later in the game you are the more worth it it is.
In legend mode I can level a job up to 30 in one fight but I wouldn't spend hours grinding in the early game.
How about the other hero 7star weapon? Is someone using?
Is it wrong if I put Chitose in Kunoichi instead ?
Objectively this is very wrong and you should feel ashamed!
No it's totally fine she is very powerful on that class I just like how synergistic her special armor is with the geodancer ultimate weapon. For most of my playthrough Chitose was a kunoichi
@@purplatypus7405 Thanks for the reply ! Which character should be recommanded for the cowboy ?
Hi!)
Can you answer one question please.
Is it possible te get hello worker job back somehow?
I wanna rise it to the max,but it changed to freelancer at some story point.
Thanks.
Its the same freelancer is hello worker
If you want the hello worker outfit, sadly it's too late, as it was a emailed code to players who signed up to the newsletter, if you are talking about the skills and all that, freelancer and Hello Worker are the same
Question, I hear you say "Unique Armour", at each character, does this mean the unique job armour, or does each character have an unique piece of armour themselfes? If so, where can I find these pieces of armour?
Both yes.
Unique character armor is found in chests in the final dungeons of the game.
Unique job armor is found in the Tokyo and Yokohama underground
@@purplatypus7405 ah! alright thank you! I also couldn't help but, what are the best weapons for each job?
@@devwallee2008each job has their own ultimate weapon (7 star) which is the strongest weapon for their respective jobs as they have the highest damage stats and good unique effects.
The get their ultimate weapons, you need to craft them and the materials required to craft one are usually their base ultimate weapon (5 star), some crystals, one empty cough drop tin, and either a shark fin or a squid tentacle.
To get the base ultimate weapons, you have to complete all your teammates drink links for their respective exclusive jobs or defeat the minibosses (enemies with crown on their icon) found during freeroaming for the generic jobs.
This is a great plan in theory. However you cannot inherent sujimon skills
@@purplatypus7405 Bullshit! You're fucking serious?!
@@purplatypus7405 Wow...I'm fucking mad now...
@@StarForce99you can vice versa though
@rockrobster27 wait what...? So there's a chance!
Would zhao make a great chef ?
sure. any character can be an ok chef however chef I think is not good until the late game when you get the big weapon/armor and can bring over better skills.
@@purplatypus7405 how late in the game im lvl 40 chapter 10
@@asmabalaska2428 once you have their armor and their weapon then chef is good
Do a best weapons for each job video please
I feel that's a little self evident since their are ultimate weapons. Maybe I'll do one for the few jobs that the ult isn't thr best
@@purplatypus7405 how do I know which weapon is the ultimate weapon ? Is there a indicator
@johnkennedy3782 there is only one 7 star weapon for each job besides hero which has 2 so that one has 2 ultimates kinda
@@purplatypus7405 oh ok thanks a lot
Im using Sujimancer as well now on Kasuga its just way better than hero if you have all kiwami's the default class just do every types of elemental damage, support like natural hight ive tryed it was regenerating 350 hp per turns lmao so good but hard to set up cause a weird circle but hes big, global revive /heal, and utlimate of 80 mp just select everyone like Kiryu dragon god strike, very saled default class if well invested.
Where does the unique armor come from? I know there is job armor, but at some point do you start getting unique armor for each person?
Each character has an armor specific to them. You will get them in chests near the end of the game. I think chapter 12 or later. The ones for kiryu and ichiban are for finishing the respective dungeons in Tokyo and hawaii
@@purplatypus7405 I did get the Kiryu and Kasuga ones. Didnt realize everyone had one, I'm just getting to chapter 12 now. I spent way too much time in the dungeons and am way over leveled at 55-60 😬

I love these games but the turn base kills it makes it to long
