I reallyyy think this should've been a game pack, especially considering how much they lack in cc... its a great opportunity to make matching family clothes or something but ofc not! why not just deliver the bare minimum? 😒😒
I thought I was the only one that was pissed about the missed opportunities with the houses like they had all those beautiful houses and buildings that could have been functional
It's been a bit since the drop of Growing Together, but I wanted to share my opinions about the pack itself. 1. This pack isn't worth $40 wait for a sale. 2. This probably should have been the Parenthood refresh. (That's right, I said it. Seems they did actually put in some love into milestones and the interactions between pets, babies, infants, toddlers, and children as well as what all you can actually do --- that's why I'm not saying base game update.) 3. The INFANTS being so bare bones in base game is rude and so is the changing tables not being base game as at least 2 are directly connected to base game sets. (For me, after playing infants since they dropped and in pack, I understand that the infants shouldn't get milestones in base game as that is the selling point of the pack, BUT infants should have come with 1/3 of what they can do in the pack. Like learning to crawl and sit up should have been base game, but carriers in the pack. Feels like a forced move to get the pack for those extra interactions. ) 4. CAS has a few really cute/good items, but it's straight ugly. We've seen it all before. Seems like leftover designs from other packs? (Basically it all seems rather uninspired like do you actually want to dress your sim in this over other items in the game?) 5. Build and Buy: some of the stuff is really cute, but a lot is the generic blocky /plain stuff we have already. Plus objects from other packs that were recolored. That's SAD. (Why is the baby playmat and carrier basically the only two things that came with it for infants? Probably why they locked changing tables) Overall, I do enjoy playing with the gameplay/testing out to see what milestones there are. Plus there's surprises with the gameplay I wasn't expecting. The rest of it just doesn't seem like an expansion. Of course, I have nearly everything for the game (minus a couple kits and Batuu) so I feel Parenthood is so close to what was given with the pack. I'd say I'm not disappointed with what I was given, but certainly not worth $40.
What I hate about the changing tables, is that BEFORE the infants update in base game the adults changing a diaper would make the diapers disappear, as well as baby bottles. Now, AFTER the update, the diapers are thrown on the floor, incentive from the Sims team to shill over $50 to buy a changing table.
I stand by the fact that we shouldn't be getting new worlds with expansion packs *unless* they provide a good bit of new and unique gameplay. If this pack would have came with built in townhomes or apartments in the world then I'd be a bit more understanding. However, we're literally still getting basic worlds with a gross amount of shell buildings. New worlds should come with free updates or at the very least "kits" if you want to have worlds that are basically the same as others but slightly different.
I like the set dressing. That doesn't bother me. But the vibe of the world is urban, the style of the homes are suburban and that clashes. I wish there were townhomes and duplexes. And I wish all of the water was accessible. That there were beach lots and some of the shells were rabbit holes.
@@TanyaOwens Set dressing is fine, the last thing we need is the same issue with Sims 3 where there was so much unused space that places felt barren. However, I wish that they were a bit more creative and open minded on how the spaces were used. It sucks when you have a lot surrounded by a bunch of shells and then a random patch of open space nearby. It feels like you don't have much space to place in and you start to think about what you could have rather than what you do have. I feel like San Myshuno was a really good example of good set dressing. The focus of the lots were on point and the shells/fake areas were around the playable area to enhance the gameplay rather than obscure it.
Totally agree! Much like SimYin stated many times over, this should have been a Game Pack. Scrap the world (it really did not do much justice to the game in my opinion), go all in with fleshing out gameplay and rich CAS/Build/Buy, and then make it a true game pack with a game pack price tag on it.
@dayvonrose7787 I don't think that problem would be replicated in the Sims 4. Lots and neighborhoods automatically fill up the second your sim enters them. Townies kinda just exist in limbo until then. So having less shells wouldn't impact that. They should just be more strategic with where they place shells. Having a whole downtown area where the only thing to do is go to a food stand is silly.
They ALWAYS fake us out. Did the same thing with HSY. They made Copperdale High look lit in the trailers and when that pack came out, that high school was bland and boring af.
I’m a Bay Area native, lived there my whole life. It baffles me because this looks nothing like San Francisco and what’s even more confusing is that EA headquarters is IN THE BAY AREA! They operate out of the place they were trying to emulate in this pack and still got it wrong. Lol 🤦🏾♀️
Not only that but the world lacks a lot of the things that makes San Francisco iconic and a lot of those things could’ve added to fun lore and storylines
I visited my sister in San Francisco and got to tour a lot of the city. This world is so far removed from a lot of the interesting and diverse areas in the real-life San Francisco. And then the lack of apartments/townhouses? Another huge missed opportunity.
When it comes to furniture, they need to make more matching sets... We always get such random pieces that hardly match anything else except the what? 2 - 3 other furniture pieces they made for it? I'm VERY disappointed that we didn't get any new kitchen counters or matching cabinets either. 😔
I couldn't agree with both of you more! When we do get kitchen counters, we don't get any matching cabinets! We have SOOOO many single counters that have no matching cabinets and when building, it's very restricting! Especially for console players like myself! I literally use the same 2 kitchen sets because everything else doesn't have a matching cabinet to go with it, or it's just really tacky looking.. It's very unfortunate.
There's so much with this pack that doesn't sit with me; - about half the stuff in the pack would've been better as base game (one of the cribs in the pack literally matches a base game item!?!?) - I realized there's literally only 2 hairs new hairs for guys, and there's so little clothes for them -world is disappointing There's many other stuff, but I just had to rant a little bit because I'm on console so it's not even like I can get cc or fixes for bugs in the game
Totally agree! I feel like High School Years was better designed and/or more interesting than this. There is nothing here that screams 'Expansion Pack', with it moreso screaming 'Game Pack' or 'Base Game Update.'
I feel like a lot of the ea game changers are definitely biased and not pointing out the lack of everything in the new expansion pack. This was sooooo refreshing because I don’t think it’s that great! I feel like they just fluffed up the pack to make it look waaay better than it is. And the way they did the toddlers update feels like you HAVE to get the pack in order to have a full fun experience. With everything from the ea app being busted to the missed opportunities in this pack this just doesn’t hit right.
Absolutely agree, the only Game Changer I was willing to give a shot was Plumbella, who was very objective and critical of the EP. Even she gave it like a 5 o6 6 out of 10 at best, with her original score being a 3.5. Just so much lacking and I'm tired of some of these Game Changers serving as walking advertisements forsaking any sense of candidness and truth in their reviews.
NEVER trust a game changer. They really are no more than EA employees. Of course their "opinions" are biased (especially if they helped out with that pack-- I'm that should have been more than obvious). I mean, I hate that game changers are EA slaves, but well if you're only source of income is producing content to promote a product what are you gonna do? They're given bullet points of what to and not to say, probably have to send their script of what they're going to release-- even Plumbella, but yes I do think Plumbella is the only one who is more objective. That's probably why LGR refused to agree to continue with that program.
22:40 this had me cackling. Family dynamics seem cool but I’m still against it being tied to a pack and only for family. They could have updated the relationship panel to include roommates, friends, aunts, uncles, etc and then really created a dynamic for all types of households. There’s also so little? I guess it depends on how it works but if they opened it up for friends and romance they could have some things like Competitive, Uninvolved, Combative, Open Love, etc.

Wow what a world?!!! Apartments/city houses, decks and a bridge you can’t interact with! That’s what I’ve always wanted, a set! A world that looks staged in a life simulation game. The cars rile me up. A rec center which is like a typical previous community lot. Empty spaces everywhere, nothing to do. Is that a water park? 😂 We serious? The subway doesn’t even work as a teleporter? ΑΤ LEAST. The fake buildings look more fake than my snake bff. For 40$ it should’ve ton of CAS for everyone. Did you check the traits? I think you’re too nice with your rating but I trust you so I know you ain’t saying bullshit.
Absolutely agree with you on these points! This expansion pack is looking like a 5/10 at best so far. Still waiting on more in-depth gameplay, but I don't see things getting much better honestly.
Genuinely there's a bad map, bad cas, bad build and buy, and okay gameplay... how is this worth 40 bucks 😭😭😭 I'm so tired of the sims this all just seems like shit that should've been added in a base game update
yes i didn't go over skin details i was limited on time but I will say thats a great addition to the game but i don't think those personally should have been in the pack but with the update !
The milestones system should have been in the base game why i had to buy an expansion pack for my sims to get memories. The Sims 2 and 3 have memories in the base game, but now they are making us pay for something as basic as that.

-I like the CAS. BUT that’s the kind of style I gravitate towards with my sims. There could have been a lot more CAS but I do like how they look. And I totally understand that it’s lacking and not to everyone’s taste. -I hate the rec center build. It’s big and ugly and we got so much BB for it so that took up precious space for other BB that we actually needed, like kitchen counters. Everyone has been kissing lilsimsie’s ass about it saying they love it but babe it’s so ugly. -Hate the wasted potential with no apartments or multi-family homes. I’m always putting sims in apartments, especially if I’m doing like a young mom with a kid, 10/10 times they’re in an apartment.
Lilsimsie lies or is straight up decietful. The wedding pack was glitching and visably broken as she played it and she just kept pretending that it wasn't happening.
They need to either hire some new builders or find different simmers to do the builds besides the same game changers that have been doing them for the past couple years. There is way too much talent out there for the sims team to be relying on lilsimsie and the other two they always use. The builds are well decorated but boring and sometimes even aesthetically displeasing.
Lol I just said on Tori channel, they be giving us clothes like we are all old men. They should partner with Nike, Jordan etc because EA already has the license for those brands on NFS. What I did see from gameplay is a lot of changes that we have to use mods for like sleep overs & family relationships. This is a major update for console players & pairs well with HSY & Parenthood packs. With those 3 packs you get close to gameplay changes we can make on PC. The world is cool, I normally rebuild everything so I don’t rate that as I will always change it but the tree house sounds nice for the kiddos. There’s a mod that will change your welcome wagons to house warming parties & will invite over your friends & family instead. LittleMsSam made it.
im disgusted with the little amount of stuff that we got w infants in the base game and imo i believe that bu summertime they’ll start neglecting infants, i get it they just released but they expect me to pay for stuff that shouldve been added to base game for them? no. im so emotionally burnt out on sims 4 because of this. its just disappointment after disappointment w the sims.
seeing the map for the first time just made me laugh out loud, after all the hype they were giving it and they gave the community this?? i love that you pointed out how they didn't include the townhouses because i paused the video to look it over and that was ALSO pretty much my first thought and i am so frustrated with all these stupid empty shell homes that are just set dressing!! in every single world we get its just, set dressing, empty shells, etc! its also so obnoxious how its like the sims team ALWAYS seems to do that with the most interesting places on a map, like there's no way they don't know how much potential 'bay area townhouses by the water' has. and 3 HAIRS for children??? in a 'growing together' pack??? shameful.. i wouldn't mind any of the comments telling you you're negative, yin, i appreciate your honesty and love we're keeping it real here, because it's just a fact that EA has let the community down again and again!! you also offer your genuine opinions about things you like/appreciate too so i think people are focusing too much on any (deserved) criticism. toxic positivity IS very much a real thing, and it is JUST as bad as too much negativity, and in my opinion we have a LOT of it in the simming community. too many people who seem almost eager to turn a blind eye to this totally unapologetic greed + behavior we've seen from the sims team/EA. i'm over it, i've BEEN over it for years tbh. if nothing else, even if we totally disagree, i think that all of my fellow simmers DESERVE better whether you've been playing since the sims 1 or just picked up the sims 4 yesterday.

sorry but i am SICK of having shell houses next to my sims- if it’s in the main street of my sims house then it should be playable, even if they are empty lots- worlds need to be bigger. if performance is a concern then don’t fill the lots but lord jesus we need more lots for those who can run it 😔
they should have just made 2 seperate versions of the game. One for people who can actually play the game, and the other for people who have shit pcs who really shouldnt play the game but do anyway. Instead of trying to spread the game out to both spectrums.
How they didn’t give the changing table to base game left me with a sour outlook on EA. The male cas be lacking for a decade now and I’m just not surprised. The lack of townies and homes in this world with families is awful considering they should be making about growing together. Where is the daycare career no apartment complex...a lot be missing but something they didn’t miss was the asking price they charging a premium for a copy and paste experience. I will compliment the added dynamics to the social scene of the gameplay the memory system and compatibility with other sims is great and I praise this even though a lot of core additions could’ve easily been a base game update. If you want family gameplay this expansion is essential. If you are more into just young adult gameplay etc this pack is a miss
Them putting so much work into a subway station that you can't use to travel from one neighborhood to another is so funny to me. Like, that's common sense, if there's a bus or subway station, we should be able to use it to make our sims travel.
No wonder they made separate kits for menswear. EA giving such male CAS slander and then gatekeeping more clothes behind such tedious paywalls that don’t really add anything for male sims. Clothing wise I can see how it’s similar to Eco Lifestyle but I also saw a bit of Snowy Escape with how loose and baggy these tops are. I don’t mind it at all but have they forgotten how to make more tighter fitting tops for men’s as well? Such a missed opportunity for some more tucked in shirts or more tight fitting polos and tshirts

I always run to your page when new packs come out because you honestly always bring the truth. CAS is disappointing, I’m really shocked there’s no shoes!
The packs are never worth the asking price. Coz they cant fill out a pack to save their life. They ALWAYS put so much work into one area of the game and then the rest fall between the cracks; and even the area they put a lot of work into always has missed opportunities. I can make do with what we are given, and enjoy it to some degree(just as so long you own nearly every pack), but I can never really truly like the game as a whole and I can never stick up for their decisions. There are already 2 competitors that already have my future money, so if sims 5 doesnt bring us their best game yet and REALLY step it up, my money will be elsewhere as I have 2 other life simulation games to choose from and I'd guess they could both very well be the better of the games.
It feels incomplete. I’m disappointed with the lack of things to do. And the new lot type is just a fancier library. At this point I might as well just sit and play with Barbie’s cause the amount of imagination this game takes I might as well not play at all.

I was really hoping for a memories system like The Sims 2. Where the memories are in order from birth til death. They tell a story but I find the milestones don't exactly tell you a linear story 😢
There is a changing table in the Rec center. It was In the bathroom. I thought they said there were art classes held at the Rec center, was that a lie?
Yes a lie. They sold it as there will be many classes happening on different days… reality is it’s just sims show up for specific activities on different days.

I agree look at Sims 2 and 3 so much more in depth gameplay and way better packs granted Sims 4 has better graphics but the other games just have so many small details, and things that make them awesome. Sims 4 just feels empty compared to the others
Oof, this pack feels so sad and empty. The CAS is severely lacking. The world is so uninspired, inaccurate, and full of set dressing. I definitely think the Build/Buy from Parenthood and/or High School Years was a lot stronger (just got Parenthood and WOW, the items are much better designed and cohesive in my opinion). The new gameplay looks like a base game update so far, but we only got to see a little bit of it so far as some benefit-of-the-doubt on EA's part. Call me a stickler, but this is just looking like another overhyped disappointment that is not at all worth $40. I would not even be interested enough to get this at half-price. 🤷♂
Idk to me it doesn’t feel like they really added anything to the game with this pack. The milestones, relationships and infants in general feels like it should’ve been a basegame overhaul so what’s the real selling point of this pack? We’ve seen the world before, we’ve seen the cas style, we’ve seen the build/buy. The newest thing was that little water park and even then it’s giving the same animations as the sprinkler from Seasons. Smh
I hear you about the movie part but for me I personally think for movies I excepted it so it didn’t get hurt and say movies are one of the only things I’m okay with being rabbit hole but would be cool to play in it
I sadly can't play on pc cause it doesn't know the game is installed but I did play on console and I found an issue with the splash pads. Sims in a group can't play in the water together even in the same house hold. How did they miss this? I metionedd this on AMQ.
i really like how compatibility makes interacting with sims a different experience everytime but i dont agree with how they handled this lackluster world and how they paywalled infant features that should've been base game
I HATE kits but I would rather buy a kit with the water park stuff (with more swatches and themes like dinosaurs, fairies and all the occult), than this "expansion" pack, who comes with no apartments.
I'm only halfway through and in all my years, I've never loved a sim reviewer more than I'm loving you right now. I appreciate your honesty and not coddle feelings. You're saying exactly what the sims team needs to hear.
You shared an awesome review and are the person i was hoping for to review this. Something I was hoping for within family gameplay as allowances and every sim having their own money. Just imagine your kids saving up and mowing the elderly neighbors loads for money saving up for their dream bike. Your teens trying to buy a dress for prom or sneaking out at night and hanging out at like a gas station with their friends, so their parents ground them and take away their allowance. Your couples deciding, they don't what to share all of their finances because the mom is always buying baby clothes. I also wanted more neighborhoods play such as gigs for teens and kids like mowing lawns, cleaning kitchens, Helping them with their I Also, preteens I understand they can't do much more than children and teens and they would kind of just be in the middle but that's the whole point, Imagine First crushes, first heart breaks, first day of middle school, first day of high school before they age up, the rebelling starts, getting annoyed at their parents randomly, wanting to be alone, their first phone, periods, stealing their siblings outfits, and looking up to them, Also a mood lit that says "I'm not a kid" just because they do that. I would also like "mid adulthood" Skipping from young adult to adult is just crazy to me, I need something more, but I don't know what.
I literally cannot for the life of me get my sims to carry the infants in the back carrier! 😭 it lets me choose which one i want but it doesn’t give me the option to put them in the carrier , so frustrating
As a cas player I honestly disagree that cas is bad. I would use this a lot especially the hairs. I've been wanting more hairs for black people and we finally got it. I wish we had like shoes tho. And the skin details should've been basegame as well as the changing table.
There was a changing table at the rec center. It was in the bathroom 😂 but I do agree with you with everything you’ve said especially the part of making the subway entrance a travel point. That wouldn’t be hard to do. They already have the code.
They bring growing together, but no update on the family tree like aunts, uncles, cousins, and in-laws. That would be the best update to the base game itself since they brought growing together.
Great review your honesty is refreshing and the fact that your criticism of Growing Together is in line with Plumbella makes it that much easier to trust her as the "main" group of game changers.
Atp I’m about to stop playing the sims bc this game lags so much and the “adjusting graphic setting” keeps popping causing me to restart my game smt I’m tired
I am a vanilla player and have been playing since the Sims 2. I have to say the best results were when they pushed out more surveys, not only did that show they cared about our opinions but they got an idea of what the community wanted. I don’t believe everything needs to be in base game because it’s never been that way but I do think it would be worth it to have more depth. They should really speak out and explain their process and why corners are cut in various ways because now a lot of the community sees them as cash grabs and lazy
When I open my game I didn't even get the intro you know what you're seeing right now on your main screen before you jump into gameplay I didn't even get the welcome
It's extremely generous to give the world a 6. It's one of the worlds I'll never live in. If it had townhomes and was actually similar to SF, it'd be in my top 3. I'd rather have city living V2 than willow creek V9. I get it, they needed suburbs for the pack, but they shouldn't have wasted the opportunity for the future, and made it a different map theme.
As someone who could care less about EAs CAS (I personally mod 90% of it out of my game and use CC instead), and focuses more on gameplay than anything else. I absolutely adore this pack! The infant animations are amazingly detailed and good along with their unique personalities. I also like the new chemistry settings because not everyone gets along in my game now. It reminds me of my favorite Sims game which is the Sims 2.
i'm so happy i cracked the pack onto my EA and did not spend money on it because tbh to me it all just isn't worth it...the world was made with little to no effort,barely any cas content which i think is because they are relying on cc creators and idk i got bored quickly lol maybe i'm playing wrong

Far as the world the way I play I personally don't go out to explore. Only when I first get the pack so the world being just a set piece don't bother me. I keep my sims in the house and use other features for my gameplay.
Honestly I was excited to hear about the game seeming to be getting more detailed. Mods been carrying the game for me since the beginning. Played yesterday with the new pack without my mods and I got bored within two hours. I don't know how all these new updates and such work, when can I play with my mods without any huge problems 😫
The sims team loves to give us the same recycled suburban towns with nothing to do. I wouldn’t even mind the more family oriented packs having suburban worlds if there was more diverse worlds in other packs.
Me personally growing together isnt bad but its still missing a lot of what made generations great into other packs i already spent about 3000 to 5000 on the sims alone ans these expansions and game packs are totally eating me alive the new clothing is actually terrible and its not enough for infants same with the build and buy items
Coming from a silent viewer- I brought the EP And disappointment is the least I have to say about the world. The family dynamics and the milestones are there, okay cool- but it should’ve just came with the infant update. I feel like I wasted my money.
I completely agree with you, this pack is not all what it was cracked up to be. They always make the trailers look so much more exciting than the actual game itself. I want to get it but I am gonna try real hard to wait till it's on sale. I just can't justify spending $40 on a such a lackluster EP, especially when I know I'm gonna look for CC creators to make the pack more interesting.
Great vid as usual and definitely appreciate your *honest* review as always! I am always perplexed as to why they don’t just place all the alternate builds/restaurants/spas/gyms/etc/etc/etc/ETC in place of the decorative buildings they put into every map plan. WHY?! There are not nearly enough editable plots to even use the numerous pre builds that come with each pack, why not just auto load the community versions of those lot types as the actual world to begin with? Makes no sense to me, ever!

I reallyyy think this should've been a game pack, especially considering how much they lack in cc... its a great opportunity to make matching family clothes or something but ofc not! why not just deliver the bare minimum? 😒😒
I thought I was the only one that was pissed about the missed opportunities with the houses like they had all those beautiful houses and buildings that could have been functional
It's been a bit since the drop of Growing Together, but I wanted to share my opinions about the pack itself.
1. This pack isn't worth $40 wait for a sale.
2. This probably should have been the Parenthood refresh. (That's right, I said it. Seems they did actually put in some love into milestones and the interactions between pets, babies, infants, toddlers, and children as well as what all you can actually do --- that's why I'm not saying base game update.)
3. The INFANTS being so bare bones in base game is rude and so is the changing tables not being base game as at least 2 are directly connected to base game sets. (For me, after playing infants since they dropped and in pack, I understand that the infants shouldn't get milestones in base game as that is the selling point of the pack, BUT infants should have come with 1/3 of what they can do in the pack. Like learning to crawl and sit up should have been base game, but carriers in the pack. Feels like a forced move to get the pack for those extra interactions. )
4. CAS has a few really cute/good items, but it's straight ugly. We've seen it all before. Seems like leftover designs from other packs? (Basically it all seems rather uninspired like do you actually want to dress your sim in this over other items in the game?)
5. Build and Buy: some of the stuff is really cute, but a lot is the generic blocky /plain stuff we have already. Plus objects from other packs that were recolored. That's SAD. (Why is the baby playmat and carrier basically the only two things that came with it for infants? Probably why they locked changing tables)
Overall, I do enjoy playing with the gameplay/testing out to see what milestones there are. Plus there's surprises with the gameplay I wasn't expecting. The rest of it just doesn't seem like an expansion.
Of course, I have nearly everything for the game (minus a couple kits and Batuu) so I feel Parenthood is so close to what was given with the pack.
I'd say I'm not disappointed with what I was given, but certainly not worth $40.
What I hate about the changing tables, is that BEFORE the infants update in base game the adults changing a diaper would make the diapers disappear, as well as baby bottles. Now, AFTER the update, the diapers are thrown on the floor, incentive from the Sims team to shill over $50 to buy a changing table.
I stand by the fact that we shouldn't be getting new worlds with expansion packs *unless* they provide a good bit of new and unique gameplay. If this pack would have came with built in townhomes or apartments in the world then I'd be a bit more understanding. However, we're literally still getting basic worlds with a gross amount of shell buildings. New worlds should come with free updates or at the very least "kits" if you want to have worlds that are basically the same as others but slightly different.
Yup and having to rely on us and use are imaginations and make “townhomes” on the lots. It’s very frustrating
I like the set dressing. That doesn't bother me. But the vibe of the world is urban, the style of the homes are suburban and that clashes. I wish there were townhomes and duplexes. And I wish all of the water was accessible. That there were beach lots and some of the shells were rabbit holes.
@@TanyaOwens Set dressing is fine, the last thing we need is the same issue with Sims 3 where there was so much unused space that places felt barren. However, I wish that they were a bit more creative and open minded on how the spaces were used. It sucks when you have a lot surrounded by a bunch of shells and then a random patch of open space nearby. It feels like you don't have much space to place in and you start to think about what you could have rather than what you do have. I feel like San Myshuno was a really good example of good set dressing. The focus of the lots were on point and the shells/fake areas were around the playable area to enhance the gameplay rather than obscure it.
Totally agree! Much like SimYin stated many times over, this should have been a Game Pack. Scrap the world (it really did not do much justice to the game in my opinion), go all in with fleshing out gameplay and rich CAS/Build/Buy, and then make it a true game pack with a game pack price tag on it.
@dayvonrose7787 I don't think that problem would be replicated in the Sims 4. Lots and neighborhoods automatically fill up the second your sim enters them. Townies kinda just exist in limbo until then. So having less shells wouldn't impact that. They should just be more strategic with where they place shells. Having a whole downtown area where the only thing to do is go to a food stand is silly.
They ALWAYS fake us out. Did the same thing with HSY. They made Copperdale High look lit in the trailers and when that pack came out, that high school was bland and boring af.

I’m a Bay Area native, lived there my whole life. It baffles me because this looks nothing like San Francisco and what’s even more confusing is that EA headquarters is IN THE BAY AREA! They operate out of the place they were trying to emulate in this pack and still got it wrong. Lol 🤦🏾♀️
Not only that but the world lacks a lot of the things that makes San Francisco iconic and a lot of those things could’ve added to fun lore and storylines
I visited my sister in San Francisco and got to tour a lot of the city. This world is so far removed from a lot of the interesting and diverse areas in the real-life San Francisco. And then the lack of apartments/townhouses? Another huge missed opportunity.

I couldn't agree with both of you more! When we do get kitchen counters, we don't get any matching cabinets! We have SOOOO many single counters that have no matching cabinets and when building, it's very restricting! Especially for console players like myself! I literally use the same 2 kitchen sets because everything else doesn't have a matching cabinet to go with it, or it's just really tacky looking.. It's very unfortunate.
There's so much with this pack that doesn't sit with me;
- about half the stuff in the pack would've been better as base game (one of the cribs in the pack literally matches a base game item!?!?)
- I realized there's literally only 2 hairs new hairs for guys, and there's so little clothes for them
-world is disappointing
There's many other stuff, but I just had to rant a little bit because I'm on console so it's not even like I can get cc or fixes for bugs in the game

Totally agree! I feel like High School Years was better designed and/or more interesting than this. There is nothing here that screams 'Expansion Pack', with it moreso screaming 'Game Pack' or 'Base Game Update.'
I feel like a lot of the ea game changers are definitely biased and not pointing out the lack of everything in the new expansion pack. This was sooooo refreshing because I don’t think it’s that great! I feel like they just fluffed up the pack to make it look waaay better than it is. And the way they did the toddlers update feels like you HAVE to get the pack in order to have a full fun experience.
With everything from the ea app being busted to the missed opportunities in this pack this just doesn’t hit right.
Absolutely agree, the only Game Changer I was willing to give a shot was Plumbella, who was very objective and critical of the EP. Even she gave it like a 5 o6 6 out of 10 at best, with her original score being a 3.5. Just so much lacking and I'm tired of some of these Game Changers serving as walking advertisements forsaking any sense of candidness and truth in their reviews.
NEVER trust a game changer. They really are no more than EA employees. Of course their "opinions" are biased (especially if they helped out with that pack-- I'm that should have been more than obvious). I mean, I hate that game changers are EA slaves, but well if you're only source of income is producing content to promote a product what are you gonna do? They're given bullet points of what to and not to say, probably have to send their script of what they're going to release-- even Plumbella, but yes I do think Plumbella is the only one who is more objective. That's probably why LGR refused to agree to continue with that program.

Family dynamics seem cool but I’m still against it being tied to a pack and only for family. They could have updated the relationship panel to include roommates, friends, aunts, uncles, etc and then really created a dynamic for all types of households.
There’s also so little? I guess it depends on how it works but if they opened it up for friends and romance they could have some things like Competitive, Uninvolved, Combative, Open Love, etc.

The milestones system should have been in the base game why i had to buy an expansion pack for my sims to get memories. The Sims 2 and 3 have memories in the base game, but now they are making us pay for something as basic as that.
TS3 didn’t have a memory system until generations if I’m remembering correctly but yes it shouldve been in base game

-I like the CAS. BUT that’s the kind of style I gravitate towards with my sims. There could have been a lot more CAS but I do like how they look. And I totally understand that it’s lacking and not to everyone’s taste.
-I hate the rec center build. It’s big and ugly and we got so much BB for it so that took up precious space for other BB that we actually needed, like kitchen counters. Everyone has been kissing lilsimsie’s ass about it saying they love it but babe it’s so ugly.
-Hate the wasted potential with no apartments or multi-family homes. I’m always putting sims in apartments, especially if I’m doing like a young mom with a kid, 10/10 times they’re in an apartment.

They need to either hire some new builders or find different simmers to do the builds besides the same game changers that have been doing them for the past couple years. There is way too much talent out there for the sims team to be relying on lilsimsie and the other two they always use. The builds are well decorated but boring and sometimes even aesthetically displeasing.
Lol I just said on Tori channel, they be giving us clothes like we are all old men. They should partner with Nike, Jordan etc because EA already has the license for those brands on NFS.
What I did see from gameplay is a lot of changes that we have to use mods for like sleep overs & family relationships. This is a major update for console players & pairs well with HSY & Parenthood packs. With those 3 packs you get close to gameplay changes we can make on PC.
The world is cool, I normally rebuild everything so I don’t rate that as I will always change it but the tree house sounds nice for the kiddos.
There’s a mod that will change your welcome wagons to house warming parties & will invite over your friends & family instead. LittleMsSam made it.

sorry but i am SICK of having shell houses next to my sims- if it’s in the main street of my sims house then it should be playable, even if they are empty lots- worlds need to be bigger. if performance is a concern then don’t fill the lots but lord jesus we need more lots for those who can run it 😔
they should have just made 2 seperate versions of the game. One for people who can actually play the game, and the other for people who have shit pcs who really shouldnt play the game but do anyway. Instead of trying to spread the game out to both spectrums.

Where is the daycare career no apartment complex...a lot be missing but something they didn’t miss was the asking price they charging a premium for a copy and paste experience. I will compliment the added dynamics to the social scene of the gameplay the memory system and compatibility with other sims is great and I praise this even though a lot of core additions could’ve easily been a base game update. If you want family gameplay this expansion is essential. If you are more into just young adult gameplay etc this pack is a miss

Them putting so much work into a subway station that you can't use to travel from one neighborhood to another is so funny to me. Like, that's common sense, if there's a bus or subway station, we should be able to use it to make our sims travel.
No wonder they made separate kits for menswear. EA giving such male CAS slander and then gatekeeping more clothes behind such tedious paywalls that don’t really add anything for male sims.
Clothing wise I can see how it’s similar to Eco Lifestyle but I also saw a bit of Snowy Escape with how loose and baggy these tops are. I don’t mind it at all but have they forgotten how to make more tighter fitting tops for men’s as well? Such a missed opportunity for some more tucked in shirts or more tight fitting polos and tshirts

I always run to your page when new packs come out because you honestly always bring the truth. CAS is disappointing, I’m really shocked there’s no shoes!
The packs are never worth the asking price. Coz they cant fill out a pack to save their life. They ALWAYS put so much work into one area of the game and then the rest fall between the cracks; and even the area they put a lot of work into always has missed opportunities. I can make do with what we are given, and enjoy it to some degree(just as so long you own nearly every pack), but I can never really truly like the game as a whole and I can never stick up for their decisions. There are already 2 competitors that already have my future money, so if sims 5 doesnt bring us their best game yet and REALLY step it up, my money will be elsewhere as I have 2 other life simulation games to choose from and I'd guess they could both very well be the better of the games.

It feels incomplete. I’m disappointed with the lack of things to do. And the new lot type is just a fancier library. At this point I might as well just sit and play with Barbie’s cause the amount of imagination this game takes I might as well not play at all.

I was really hoping for a memories system like The Sims 2. Where the memories are in order from birth til death. They tell a story but I find the milestones don't exactly tell you a linear story 😢

Yes a lie. They sold it as there will be many classes happening on different days… reality is it’s just sims show up for specific activities on different days.

I agree look at Sims 2 and 3 so much more in depth gameplay and way better packs granted Sims 4 has better graphics but the other games just have so many small details, and things that make them awesome. Sims 4 just feels empty compared to the others

There is a movie stuff pack where you can create your own movie theater with popcorn. For them to do that in this pack would be redundant.

Oof, this pack feels so sad and empty. The CAS is severely lacking. The world is so uninspired, inaccurate, and full of set dressing. I definitely think the Build/Buy from Parenthood and/or High School Years was a lot stronger (just got Parenthood and WOW, the items are much better designed and cohesive in my opinion). The new gameplay looks like a base game update so far, but we only got to see a little bit of it so far as some benefit-of-the-doubt on EA's part.
Call me a stickler, but this is just looking like another overhyped disappointment that is not at all worth $40. I would not even be interested enough to get this at half-price. 🤷♂

Idk to me it doesn’t feel like they really added anything to the game with this pack. The milestones, relationships and infants in general feels like it should’ve been a basegame overhaul so what’s the real selling point of this pack? We’ve seen the world before, we’ve seen the cas style, we’ve seen the build/buy. The newest thing was that little water park and even then it’s giving the same animations as the sprinkler from Seasons. Smh
I hear you about the movie part but for me I personally think for movies I excepted it so it didn’t get hurt and say movies are one of the only things I’m okay with being rabbit hole but would be cool to play in it
The "side eye" and the "you're lying" subway comments made me laugh out loud. This pack may be disappointing but this review is a 10/10.

I sadly can't play on pc cause it doesn't know the game is installed but I did play on console and I found an issue with the splash pads. Sims in a group can't play in the water together even in the same house hold. How did they miss this? I metionedd this on AMQ.
i really like how compatibility makes interacting with sims a different experience everytime but i dont agree with how they handled this lackluster world and how they paywalled infant features that should've been base game
I HATE kits but I would rather buy a kit with the water park stuff (with more swatches and themes like dinosaurs, fairies and all the occult), than this "expansion" pack, who comes with no apartments.

Something I was hoping for within family gameplay as allowances and every sim having their own money. Just imagine your kids saving up and mowing the elderly neighbors loads for money saving up for their dream bike. Your teens trying to buy a dress for prom or sneaking out at night and hanging out at like a gas station with their friends, so their parents ground them and take away their allowance. Your couples deciding, they don't what to share all of their finances because the mom is always buying baby clothes.

I would also like "mid adulthood" Skipping from young adult to adult is just crazy to me, I need something more, but I don't know what.

As a cas player I honestly disagree that cas is bad. I would use this a lot especially the hairs. I've been wanting more hairs for black people and we finally got it. I wish we had like shoes tho. And the skin details should've been basegame as well as the changing table.
There was a changing table at the rec center. It was in the bathroom 😂 but I do agree with you with everything you’ve said especially the part of making the subway entrance a travel point. That wouldn’t be hard to do. They already have the code.

They bring growing together, but no update on the family tree like aunts, uncles, cousins, and in-laws. That would be the best update to the base game itself since they brought growing together.

I am a vanilla player and have been playing since the Sims 2. I have to say the best results were when they pushed out more surveys, not only did that show they cared about our opinions but they got an idea of what the community wanted. I don’t believe everything needs to be in base game because it’s never been that way but I do think it would be worth it to have more depth. They should really speak out and explain their process and why corners are cut in various ways because now a lot of the community sees them as cash grabs and lazy

It's extremely generous to give the world a 6. It's one of the worlds I'll never live in.
If it had townhomes and was actually similar to SF, it'd be in my top 3. I'd rather have city living V2 than willow creek V9. I get it, they needed suburbs for the pack, but they shouldn't have wasted the opportunity for the future, and made it a different map theme.
Everyone is excited over the tiniest things the sims lets out; like some of the stuff is just terrible
As someone who could care less about EAs CAS (I personally mod 90% of it out of my game and use CC instead), and focuses more on gameplay than anything else. I absolutely adore this pack! The infant animations are amazingly detailed and good along with their unique personalities. I also like the new chemistry settings because not everyone gets along in my game now. It reminds me of my favorite Sims game which is the Sims 2.
i'm so happy i cracked the pack onto my EA and did not spend money on it because tbh to me it all just isn't worth it...the world was made with little to no effort,barely any cas content which i think is because they are relying on cc creators and idk i got bored quickly lol maybe i'm playing wrong
They need to give us another free world like Newcrest. I'm tired of paying $40 for 3 20x30 homes.

This pack is necessary to have better gameplay (milestones, compatibility...) and that's why it's empty, because they knew people would need it and buy it. It's really pathetic from EA
Far as the world the way I play I personally don't go out to explore. Only when I first get the pack so the world being just a set piece don't bother me. I keep my sims in the house and use other features for my gameplay.
Honestly I was excited to hear about the game seeming to be getting more detailed. Mods been carrying the game for me since the beginning. Played yesterday with the new pack without my mods and I got bored within two hours. I don't know how all these new updates and such work, when can I play with my mods without any huge problems 😫
The sims team loves to give us the same recycled suburban towns with nothing to do. I wouldn’t even mind the more family oriented packs having suburban worlds if there was more diverse worlds in other packs.
Me personally growing together isnt bad but its still missing a lot of what made generations great into other packs i already spent about 3000 to 5000 on the sims alone ans these expansions and game packs are totally eating me alive the new clothing is actually terrible and its not enough for infants same with the build and buy items
Coming from a silent viewer- I brought the EP And disappointment is the least I have to say about the world. The family dynamics and the milestones are there, okay cool- but it should’ve just came with the infant update. I feel like I wasted my money.

I completely agree with you, this pack is not all what it was cracked up to be. They always make the trailers look so much more exciting than the actual game itself. I want to get it but I am gonna try real hard to wait till it's on sale. I just can't justify spending $40 on a such a lackluster EP, especially when I know I'm gonna look for CC creators to make the pack more interesting.
Great vid as usual and definitely appreciate your *honest* review as always! I am always perplexed as to why they don’t just place all the alternate builds/restaurants/spas/gyms/etc/etc/etc/ETC in place of the decorative buildings they put into every map plan. WHY?! There are not nearly enough editable plots to even use the numerous pre builds that come with each pack, why not just auto load the community versions of those lot types as the actual world to begin with? Makes no sense to me, ever!

Nothing special but the new gameplay functions, and judging from features from HSY/Eco/etc they might get boring pretty soon o.q
