The impression that I got was that Akemi was mad that Jun wasn't calling her by her first name. Since he and Tomo grew up together he's considered part of the family. Calling her obasan is something a non family member would do.

I find this dynamic in animes with mom and dads rare. They both have separate personalities from there child.
