Cooda’s grades have gone back uppppp after 1 week!!! I’m a certified Elementary and Special Ed teacher……that’s impressive and a testament to you (his teacher) & MOM and his motivation to succeed!!! You’re both doing amazing!!! 🎉❤🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Praise God! Keep it up!
I’m a Special Education Teacher 👩🏾🏫. My number one priority is to ensure that every student is able to thrive whether I am there or not. I hold my students accountable for every aspect of their educational journey. From their academic progress to their socialization. There is no coddling in my classroom. I have the policy 70:30. The student is responsible for 70% of their actions and academic performance. I support them with my 30%.
As a mom….you already knew that your child is a good student. Obviously that school was not for him. You tried but they failed him. I am glad that you listened to your mommy instincts. Eddie is going to be just fine and he will thrive just like his peers who go to traditional school. I continually wish all of you the best.
I love Lizzie's personality. She's so authentic, just like her mom. And, if you have one near, you may considerp looking into the community theater for Eddie. It's a great free extracurricular that you can use as an elective if you are still homeschooling when Eddie is in high school. Lizzie would do great on stage too if it is something that interests her.
I'm happy Eddie is doing good in his subjects, he is such a smart boy. I really liked seeing Lizzie and Eddie cooking and yes they are amazing children and love your sense of humor😊. Keep doing the good work with your son you are such a good mother. Love in the 🏚🍽
My now adult son had really bad adhd. (He’s now in the army &thriving. In training to be a ranger) I had him in tutoring at our local college by students who were in training to become teachers. They would go into really dark, sound proof classes (they had just a few overhead ceiling lights on) that were not being used. That environment helped regulate his constant fidgeting and movement so much. He was able to concentrate so much better. He still talks about that to this day. My now 9 yr old has inattentive type add so she’s not so much hyper but can be easily distracted. She literally does her homework in the dark. With just her cellphone light. I don’t know why it works but it works. They never did/do well in bright artificial type lightening or a lot of sound. Also there are some adhd/autism skin stickers you can buy. They have different textures sizes and shapes. U just put them on your body or desk etc and they help keep u on task. I don’t know how they work but my daughter likes them. The main lesson I have learned about school work and adhd/add kids is to limit as much stimuli as possible. (Bright artificial light is a big one.) Keep going Kim. Your are doing great in this endeavor
I know you have a new word and it's delish but I like when you say reow like a cat and glad Eddie doing good in his homeschooling and nice to Eddie and Lizzie do the hellofresh cooking they did good 🍽️
I think you are doing the best thing for Eddie by homeschooling him because you know what he needs and how he needs to be taught better than anyone! I applaud you for being an advocate for him and getting out of that school that wasn’t beneficial to his education or development! Great job so far Eddie! Keep up the good work!❤❤🍽️❤❤
I struggled with geography and it’s still a weak point for me. I also never mastered typing and I peck like Eddy does. But I have high hopes for him because there were no computers, cellphones or tablets when I was growing up in the Stone Age. My reading, comprehension, history, etc. were my strong areas of study. You are so awesome, Kim and your children are awesome, too. 🍽️❤
You and your sister always encourage me on your vlogs. It's my turn to encourage you.Congratulations on the first week of school. Train up a child in the way he or she may go and they shall never depart from thee. This is you and your son's new beginning.
Hello I’m so happy and proud to hear that Eddie is doing well🤗 in school. As far as typing when I was learning to type. I found that saying the letters as I typed helped me to develop muscle memory while using all of my fingers. I hope that helps. 💞
I will say I have test anxiety with my ADHD. Cannot take a test without freaking out. It’s getting better but I do better taking any test by myself with no one else in the room. You are doing an amazing job!
Lizzie said I got Jollof rice and these pita pockets...it's on a poppin'!🤣🤣🍽 Sound like homeschooling was just what Eddie needed! Glad you were able to make the transition.
Lovin the warm glow on your face Principal Holden. Happy to see Eddie keep up the pace his first week. "Chef Lizzie" will be a fun youtube channel too. She explain her activity so professionally. 🍽
I’m glad that homeschooling appears to be working for your family. I know you said you were putting him in soccer but I also think he’d be great at gymnastics or even track or swimming. Plus, those are strenuous sports that’ll help him burn some of that excess energy
Lizzie saying her prayer before her bite 🤣, she is adorable. You are doing an ace job with Eddie . I love when I see you have uploaded a video, thank you Kim. Much love to you all and many blessings ♥♥♥♥♥🙏🍽
Keep speaking the truth Kim. Love that you speak about the good and the bad and recognize your children for who they are and love them unconditionally. You are such an amazing mother because you celebrate them when they walk the right path and hold them accountable when they don't.❤❤
Eddie, I always watch the videos from beginning to end, but I don't know how to put the gif in the comments. I'm so glad you're doing so well in school. ♥
My nephew was also short stature like Eddie, and his doctor started him on growth hormone shots. He has caught up so much in growth, it’s been so amazing for him. Maybe you can ask Eddie’s doctor about it.
He’s had an Endocrinologist for years, and you should see me at those appointments…. I have my pen and paper ready with questions. 😂 He’s had multiple bone-age tests, and yes he’s small for his age, but they see he’s steadily growing (just very slowly). I’ve had the “Hormone Conversation” before & they’ve all told me that they would only rush him on hormones if he had a condition, disease, or disorder that was stopping his growth. They told me that they don’t give out hormones just for short stature. I’m not against growth hormones. If in a few years they say, “Ms. Holden, he is now entering puberty and we expected him to be a this short height by now and he’s not even at that, lets get him on hormones.” I’ll be all for it.🤗💜
Now I am gonna be using "delish" because it is in my brain now. 😂 I'm so glad Eddie is doing better with homeschooling. Still blows my mind that the "teachers" at his now old school weren't doing their jobs. 🤦🏾♀️ Anyway, moving forward...Eddie will prosper! Those pitas did look delish!! 🍽
I can understand how people treat Eddie, because until I was 10-year-old it happened to me. It used to get on my cousin nerves that my grandmother would reach for my hand when she was younger, but I was smaller. It also gave me perks that were a little hard to give up, like not paying the fare on buses so I had money to buy candy and other treats. It changed at 10 because puberty hit me early and hard. Overnight the little girl was gone and replaced by a short young woman. 🍽 🤗🤗
🍽 Holden Academy is on point! About 15yrs Eddie will be a giant. Then you'll have a whole new set of ways people treat him. Starting January I'll be using that code from HF. I still have some travel to do right now. Lizzie is just being amazing.
I love you and your kiddos. Nana too. You may or may not do this, but a visual behavior chart for Eddie may be beneficial. (He's a good boy, but to help him practice self-control and make it a bit easier on both of you.) My kid is grown now, but I had success with it when he was Eddie's age. I'd have him work toward something he really wanted. Sometimes he succeeded, and sometimes he didn't. Incentives do work wonders. Eddie will grow out of a lot of his restlessness. Like Eddie, my kid was extremely intelligent but could be a handful at times. Now he's 30. Well adjusted, happy, successful, funny, and a scientist changing the world. Good job, Eddie... Those grades are certainly something to be proud of. Keep working hard. You have the best mom ever.
I get what your saying on so many levels. Why do adults think it’s cute when kids act up? It ain’t cute when adults do it and they will turn into adults. And when you know your kid knows better and was taught better…u expect better. There is a time and a place for most things. But never undermind the parent. 😫
😂 Kim, You took me right back to HS talking about typing class…..the teacher told us we weren’t allowed to “hunt and peck” on our keyboards, we had to memorize the home row and move all of our fingers from there in 1 week WITHOUT looking down while typing! She was super hard on us, but we learned to type correctly and without taking our eyes off our screen!!! 🖥️ That’s a very important life skill that often goes unnoticed!!!
Wtg Eddie, keep your head up on Spanish. You're right Eddie numbers are hard, but when you get past your 20's in your numbers it will get easier. There's a rhythm. My husband is Latino and I'm German, I took it upon myself to learn my husband's language. Spanish will get easier as you get further into your Spanish. You're mommy is right, keep your head up no matter what is going on, carry yourself well. Keep getting your A's & B's. Mommy your doing an AMAZING job
Hello Kim so happy is doing good on his grades! He loves being with his Mom! Your amazing Mother!❤😊 That hello fresh meal looked absolutely delicious!I hope you Have a great Friday and weekend God Loves you and so do I🙏🏻❤️🥰🙂🍎 🍽️🍽️🍽️
Yess I wanna check out hello fresh. It came to my mind cause I know you use it and then I got distracted. Bouta go check it now! I def have me a picky lil dude and mannnnn 😩😩
Congratulations to Eddie! Out of curiosity, is he in doing a Christian-based home school set up? I only ask because I’m native to Texas and never heard of bible basics.
Thank you so much 🤗💜. We are using: miacademy.co for his curriculum & they offer Bible Basic as one of their electives to choose from. This school is available in all states.

Hi Kim, love you. I watch everytime your on. I know you don't care for your forehead. I saw a commercial for head toppers. Very interesting and they look good too,, almost like a headband. Look into it.?!!
He is doing great considering where he came from. It's going to take some time but he will get there. That 🔥is coming back. Oh, the typing, I have a friend who types like that and he types fast with his two fingers. He's not looking at the keys too. I don't know how he does it. You keep doing what you are doing with Eddie. He will see what you are trying to get through his head. He's 9 and he will see what your saying to him. He's seeing some of it now. Those pitas really looked tasty. Eddie killed me when he did that😂 I need to try Hello Fresh. I just want simple meals that are😋 and help me🍽

I feel like I'm missing something, what is it about geography that means he needs to sit still more than his other lessons?
So far, with his other subjects, he can wiggle, swing in that chair, dance while thinking, but so far with geography he has to sit still to look & read the map 🗺️, and he doesn’t like sitting still. 🤗💜
@HoldenItDown ahhh, thanks.
@HoldenItDown I wonder if there's something he can use to get that moving input from only his legs while his top half stays still.
When having ADHD… the whole body wants to move.
