I love the detail on how in the background as soon as corrupted Bf wakes up with white eyes. It stops using the animation of it screaming out holding its head and stays with holding out his hand as to show it knows what’s happening and puts more pressure to put Bf back to sleep or submit
Everyone talking about how the corrupted BF isn't evil and is trying to help BF, but no one talking about how fucking hard he was shredding that guitar.
If this is all playable, I really admire whoever coded this all in. Can’t wait for the actual release. There’s a lot of mechanics from this mod that I’d like to add to my mods
The more I watch these, the more I’m convinced what you’re “fighting” here is actually something trying to help you and not the corruption itself. From the fact that it tells bf what’ll happen if he doesn’t wake up, to telling him to ignore what’s happening and focus on it, it doing stuff like pulling out a guitar to go along with the song and Bf quickly becoming frightened and reaching out to it when it disappears. This whatever or whoever it is seems like they’re actually trying to help you, possibly by teaching you some way to counter the corruption since it travels via sound/voice
My own personal theory was that the corruption created Soul/Evil BF from BF's mind to essentially replace BF in his mind so that the corruption wouldn't need to suppress BF anymore, and was meant to finally break BF completely. During the course of the first three songs, I always felt like Soul was trying to figure out what he wanted to be.. I think that's the reason why the first three songs sort of all feel slightly different, because Soul changes over the course of the three songs until he's no longer the "bad guy" that he mentions in the fourth song. The first song, Tormentor, is Soul trying to do what the corruption wanted and break BF. However, as the corruption starts trying to help Soul break BF, Soul gets mad and starts working against it in the second song when Soul gets annoyed that the corruption is interfering. The end of the second song, I think that the corruption got fed up with Soul and tried to seal him away again (but failed). Then when BF keeps thinking about Soul, it strengthened Soul enough to break the corruption's hold on him. Then in the third song, Soul sheds off his origins of the corruption and becomes what he wants to be, which is shown when he says "This is more my style." He finally gets to do what he wants, as BF wanted to battle him and him and BF seem to understand each other There's a few things to support the theory Soul was created by corruption. The first is that in the Senpai week, the corruption's true form was actually a twisted image of Soul, not the actual Corrupted BF (which seems intentional, as they could have easily made a corrupted BF sprite, but specifically chose the image of Soul who hadn't been introduced yet). And the first day of Soul's appearance, the song is called Tormentor, possibly indicating Soul's original purpose was tormenting BF (it would make sense, since by this point the world has been overcome by corruption, and the corruption had chances to experiment with different things on the people they'd corrupted). And during the first few days you see he has the same sort of effect as the corruption on the screen (with the veins that appear on screen which are black instead of the corruption's red). Then in the second song, Soul keeps switching between a new form and his original form, which could be a representation of Soul trying to decide between being the tormentor that the corruption made, or helping BF to become something else. Not only does Soul have a similar effect in the first few songs, but he knows exactly how to beat the corruption when no one else seems to know how to fight the corruption (showing he seems to know the corruption better than anyone else). And by the third song, he's given up his corruption origins to be embrace the part of BF he was created from, which is why we don't see his enhanced form or the black veins anymore.
I think Soul BF is trying to uncorrupt BF, and the “Not again” line was because when Pico was saving BF, Evil Boyfriend looked towards the viewer and in a flash, BF was corrupted again. Evil BF looks towards the viewer as the red cracks start to form, so I think they were trying to fight the re-corruption process.
this is also my theory, this "soul" or "glitch" bf was seen only once, in roots, i think it became a seperate entitty from BF and gained its own will, and its trying to save bf from the corruption.
The eyes on EBF (background one) also started glowing white which i theorize to be a defense mechanism since its shown either after uncorruption, during uncorruption, during corruption and when fighting DD

Personally, i think that during the ending sequence, the boyfriend's going from "YES!, I win!", To "I-I win, r-right?" Once he notices everything's disappearing, and finally, he realizes he actually wanted to keep the song going, which is why he's reaching out, before becoming depressed. That, or BF is slowly realizing that "evil BF" was helping him fight the corruption, and once he fully realizes that the thing that just disappeared possibly saved his life, he reaches out for it. Or maybe I'm completely wrong. This Mod's been throwing some curve balls lately, so I really don't know what to expect, but I'm here for it.

He’s called “Evil Bf” but I think it’s supposed to be more of his soul. It’s as cocky and wild as him, and when he went into the senpai game, that was his soul getting sucked in and it looks exactly like this “evil bf”. Also the obvious reason of him helping Bf instead of being, ya know, evil.
During the battle between Corrupted Soul and BF, when the red cracks started to appear Soul BF said "Not again" "Ignore it" "This isnt my doing" "Focus on our battle" I have a feeling Lemon Demon probably has a connection to all the corruption. And when he saw that Corrupted Soul was losing he ended the battle before they could finish.
At one point, evil BF says “it isn’t my choice/doing”. This makes me think we have a Coraline-type situation going on. Monster is like the Other Mother/The Beldam. The things he creates (the manifestations of the evil versions of another being) are under his control and instruction. However, they don’t necessarily *want* to do what they’re told. They try to give subtle hints to this or break it completely when they feel as if their time of being created is short (I.e Other Wybie saves Coraline from the soul mirrors, the other father gives Coraline of the three eyes she needs to escape). I think the same thing is going on here. Evil BF is just doing what he’s told from his creator, Monster, and he’s trying to tell BF, and the audience, this..
I thought of a theory that soul is kinda like the slave of the inner being of the corruption (monster) He does everything for him and this is a situation where it’s like just do it for me man
BF also looks like he understands that as he looks really sad when Evil dissapears and towards the end of the song it really looked like they were having fun, especially after Evil pulled out the electric guitar.
I feel like this bf trio kinda feels like the saying “the good, the bad, and the ugly”. Also would love to say that this has to be one of my favorite songs in the corruption mod.
Coming back to this, it really feels like the horns and general demon-like appearance might not be a refrence to GF, but a way to signify opposition to the 'angel' - the winged thing that appears behind her. If the corruption appears as an angel, it'd make sense for Soul - one of the people (or uh, beings?) to fight against it most actively and with the best results - to appear as the opposite of one. It might even be both, with GF also fighting against the corruption to some extent. The fact that Soul seemingly appears in the senpai week is still weird for me, but if you look at the actual sprites, the eye and the mouth are definitely closer to the corruption than Soul, and that version of BF is also missing the tail (which is the other hint to demons beside the horns, and would mean it's not opposed to the corruption, at least symbolically). It's also missing the symbol on the shirt, similar to corrupted BF (where it has been covered by the corruption, even if BF didn't have his coat on), but unlike Soul and BF's conciousness in this song, perhaps indicating that the thing that's in control is not part, or even related, to BF. If anything, Soul might be in a similar predicament as BF at that point in the story - stuck inside of his own mind, unable to control his body (which is a weird thing to say about a person's soul). Basically, the corruption couldn't just bring corrupted BF into the game, so it transferred his corrupted soul instead, with the real Soul BF not being able to break out. Which could help explain the corruption markings that appear on him here. If we assume Soul is directly tied to BF, something might've 'awakened' deep within BF after deathmatch, prompting soul to gain back control and actually wake up BF's conciousness as well, thus starting the chain of events to him eventually breaking free completely. He might've also just gone along with the corruption when Spririt threatened to actually kill BF, which he obviously doesn't want to happen, or he's waiting for the right moment. He could even be luring the corruption into a false sense of security, pretending to not resist at all. The whole 'I'm not even real' thing could also imply he didn't really exist at that point, with BF sort of subconsiously creating him, or, at least, giving him a form after deathmatch, with Soul's appearance being based on BF's corrupted soul. These are probably less likely though. It's also worth mentioning that before the 'Soul is present' line, while the transfer is still ongoing, the partially corrupted pixel BF has very little to do with Soul, design-wise. It might be dark grey base (which Soul shares with the corruption anyway) with different-colored accents The face has those signature corruption teeth and even two eyes which don't resemble Soul's eye at all, and the character doesn't actually float. The only thing that could be a refrence to soul is probably the fact that the accents are white, not pink. Everything else points to the fact that Soul himself only got transferred into the game towards the very end of the week, as the transfer fully completed (hence, y'know, 'Soul is present' xD), with the sprite gaining more of his characteristics. As someone else mentioned, Soul getting his glowy form here matches pretty well with BF gaining back more control - The horns appearing and tail getting a glow would symbolise that they're fighting/opposing the corruption more intensly, the symbol getting a glow would indicate that BF's conciousness is growing stronger and more pronounced within his own body/mind, and the corruption markings would show how BF is breaking out, with them revealing Soul's glowing and white inside, contrasting how the corruption's darkness usually covers it's victims.
yeah, I was also thinking the same thing, bf really had no way to put himself into the dating simulator without daddy dearest, who wasn't yet corrupted at that point. So I always thought he had transferred his soul into the game which explains the similar appearance to soul bf, even in the senpai week this version of bf is called "Soul_bf" which I guess can be summed to Soul bf was also held captive by the corruption if he is a part of bf. And Soul must've been awakened when corrupted bf transferred his soul into the game but, of course bf was corrupted during souls creation. Which could also explain why he closer resembles a corrupted bf rather than having a closer color scheme to normal bf. And as for the odd demon design soul has, I really don't know what to say. My best guess is bf really likes demons since you know his girlfriend is a demon, so it would make sense that his soul would resemble a demon if anything.
Theory: "This isnt my doing" and "Focus on our battle", along with Bf recovering when Demon BF plays the guitar (not to mention that it seems that Evil BF was the one telling BF to wake up on Tormentor) make me think that now both of them have to fight against something bigger. The ending looks like a dark cave and you can hear the week 2 lightnings on it, so the next battle its most likely gonna be against Lemon Monster, the creator of the corruption himself
I feel like soul boyfriend got wiped out before he could cure himself, cause everything turned dark all of a sudden, its either that evil boyfriend is fully corrupted, or something else is pushing them back
at the end he probably teleported bf to the other world so he could live because the area they were battling cracked so he probably just send bf to the other world to live edit: another theory of him transforming does look like hes about to get cracked open by transforming himself
I find it really cool how when the red cracks start appearing, Bf looks worried. Purplish forehead and sweat, that probably means the corruption is getting further into his head. Afterwards, he starts getting uncontrollably worried. Definitely meaning that something happened to him. He also reaches out at the end as if he needs someone or something.
It's also strange that the song is called Nuerosis, which is a disease with symptoms like stress, anxiety and depression. It also has obsessive tendencies but I don't see how that would link. Who knows? Perhaps they'll do a twist where the Corruption doesn't actually exist and it's actually just a metaphor for Boyfriend's condition

I love the fact that the Soul occasionally taunts BF, like it's hoping it'll make him "angry" and have a stronger desire to win. When that fails, he says "I've got it" and starts shredding that guitar, which motivates BF

One he is asking if bf can take on the corruption by himself or he is just asking if he can handle the beat of the song 0:40 *im better* This could mean that he is saying that he is the better version of bf to motivate him or is just being cocky. 1:00 *Not again.* This most likely means that he has experienced the event in the background before or he is saying that bf isn’t gonna get corrupted again due to Corrupted Bf’s eyes glowing. 1:09 *ignore it* He is simply trying to make bf focus on the battle instead of the corrupted wasteland outside of his mind. 1:36 *this isn’t my doing* This means that he is trying to tell bf that he wants to help and that he isn’t the one controlling the corruption on him. 1:47 *focus on our battle* Same meaning as in 1:09 but this time it seems like he is desperately trying to get him to ignore it 2:13 *Ive got it* Probably means he found an electric guitar to help motivate bf or maybe he means that he has a plan to help him break free from the corruption All this means that the soul version of bf was trying to help him from the beginning. The final could possibly one final burst of hope for bf as he raps solo as he attempts to either break free from the corruption or as an attempt to bring back soul bf to help him break free, another theory for the final battle could be bf fighting his corruption as the corruption takes form as bf . The last theory I have for the ending is that you fight memories of all the people that bf had corrupted as it plays the songs from their final battle as bf try’s to stand up to the corruption and leave the memories of the corruption in the past to attempt to defeat the corruption.
I like to think of evil BF as something similar to Omori from Omori. He's the mental embodiment of the real BF, and he represents Bf's inner demons. Here, however, Evil BF is trying to help BF the best he can. A preparation for the final battle.
And omori is trying to block off the demons from sunny's mind so he doesnt suicide. Black space is literally those demons and at the last day omori fights sunny to see if hes ready to see the truth
I don't think that's it I think that is the corruption in his body and something told him to wake up and now he's fighting the corruption as you can see with the Crack in the corrupt bf

I think there is symbolism in this mod I think the reason soul bf is black and white is because At the two most extreme ends of the color spectrum are black and white! White often represents innocence, purity, and new beginnings. Black, on the other hand, can be seen as conservative or intimidating, but it is also often associated with sophistication, luxury, confidence, and strength And the reason corrupted bf is red and black is because Black and red. In western culture, these are the two most sinister colors, as red typically conveys the meaning of blood or anger, and black is that of darkness or death. Being a very visually striking combination, they can also convey a sense of power
@@luxwalker1220 It’s most likely someone different. Almost every song in the mod has been composed by someone very few people have heard of. (other than dead pixel which was made by jellyfish) So if there are monster songs, Monster is more likely gonna be voiced by a lesser known VA.

He's just a corrupted part of Bf that is just trying to give him a challenge to see if he can truly take his body back from the corruption. It's an ally it looks like. When BF looks like he's starting to lose hope, the "evil" BF then says "This is not my doing". And when they break out the guitar, after that epic few seconds, BF is suddenly normal again. And before they get the guitar they say "I got it." As they struck an idea to help him. They also say "Focus on our battle", and "Not again." as if they know there is some sort of threat around them.
I have a theory about the text “ Not again. “ If he’s saying not again, which is bf’s conscience, that means he’s already tried this but failed the first time. So that means he tried to break free from the corruption twice. The first time he tried to escape was probably in Pico vs evil boyfriend day 2.

Bro. Idk why, but these corruption songs are more upbeat and amazing than the originals. Except the third song on mom's week in the corruption mod. That was creepy to the point where the hairs on my neck almost stood on the end.

Because in song 2 we see that Pico is being freed, then we go onto song 3 to see Pico fully corrupted again, Mom nearly fully corrupted and then the Henchmen corrupted too, combined with an eerie song like that just makes you feel despair
The second series of the battle of BF vs EVIL BF is the best in the history of the mod. I'll just clap and look forward to the finale. As the music heats up, BF's eyes light up, indicating that evil is taking over. So freaking cool!
After Daddy Dearest falls to the corruption, Boyfriend somehow regains consciousness. He is now trapped in his own mind, fighting for control against the Corrupted Soul. Here, it is confirmed that the Corrupted Soul takes on a different form than the corrupted body, resembling Week 6's "Roots" sprite. BF's body is visible through what appears to be a static-filled TV screen in the background, where BF's corrupted body seems to be reacting to the resistance. Throughout the song, the Corruption mocks and taunts BF, saying things like "too easy" and "not enough". In the second song, the Corrupted Soul is the same, but he briefly gains whiter horns whilst flickering softly. In this song, the soul says "Not again.", "Ignore it." and "Focus on our battle." which implies something else is also happening. Boyfriend, in the middle of the song, starts to get tired. Then, near the end of the song, the soul breaks out a guitar, which energized BF. Once the song has ended, everything fades out except for Boyfriend, who becomes progressively worried. The final notes are like a cry for help from Boyfriend. Then, as he reaches out, the screen fades black. Officially by the wiki
Evil Bf looks like he is training Bf to face the corrupted enemies when he gets free, thats probably why he is with white marks around his body, like he is being corrupted... Or uncorrupted. Also, he looks more like a "imaginary friend" of Bf instead of a the corruption itself. When Corrupted Bf starts awakening, the background starts collapsing, like he is disturbing Bf's "dream" I think Bf will start the next song
Maybe i got a really weird theory, but someparts when Evil BF sings, it hears like a pixel voice... Besides we know that in the date simulator it says "Senpai_Data_Deleted_Succesfully", but What if Spirit didn't died... You'll see, in FNF cannon he says that he can change his soul with someone, we haven't see GF in a while, maybe not take his body, but what if Spirit scape into The BF soul, if we take on count that BF soul is the only one that forced into the Game. Another prediction, BF will realize he can not just give up just yet, and so he tries even harder to break out of the corruption. Edit: I also believe the corruption is trying to break BF mind by making him believe that there’s no way out by making everything disappear.
I have a theory about the corruption is that the way the corruption controls some people is when their able to resist it they put those purple strings around them to contain them but Pico was also able to resist it so well that they had to use chains to keep him contained this is also backed up by the dad and mom
The "Focus on our battle" and "this isn't my doing" make me think that this isn't an evil bf but instead is another part of him that's pushing to regain consciousness and is challenging bf to do so.
"This is not my doing" is the most interesting thing here. Is the Glitch BF not really a manifestation of the Corruption? Are the text pieces not coming from the Glitch BF? If the "this" is not, in fact, referring to the effects of the Corruption, as it seems to be, what else could it be?
Whenever darkness starts surrounding the area, it seems even the Evil BF is annoyed with it. "Not again." "Ignore it." "Focus on our battle." "This isn't my doing." Interesting....
At the end a new scenery appears so i think the way other evil bf dealt with the problem was to take his place and will finish bf once and for all on his own terms
I think the corruption is realizing what is happening to Bf and is scared of him regaining control so it tries to put him back to sleep as you can see when the red lines appear Bf started to look exhausted

I’d like to note: that bf in picks second song is an illusion to lower picks guard. Because he is wearing his normal clothes, but he’s supposed to be wearing his Christmas clothes
Theory: BF is stuck in a time loop, as we in Tormentor. We see the soul telling BF to "Wake up", and in this video here. We see BF lose hope and just give up. But what if BF's Soul is trapping BF in an endless time loop so he doesn't worry about the world being corrupted.
I think my previous theory is right, this "evil" boyfriend is a seperate entity entirely, as he says stuff like "this isn't my doing" i think he is trying to un-corrupt boyfriend.
He says it when the red cracks are happening, so its probably that he is evil but lemon demon is somehow controlling the corruption and is putting the red cracks on the screen
Something I haven't seen anyone mention is how Evil Boyfriend stops doing that thing where parts of his body turn white once the inside of BF's head gets all red and with cracks, as if he's slowly losing his powers.
Poor Soul was trying to boost BF’s confidence. “I’m better” was supposed to give BF the “hah, you wish!” feeling, which I hope it did. Seeing boyfriend lose all of that hope so quickly honestly hurt
I like to think the "Can you handle this?" line is evil BF actually concerned if BF can handle... reversing the corruption? And when evil BF says "I'm better.", he's not trying to be mean or mock him, he's saying he'll try to do the uncorrupting himself faster in order to save BF, who'll save everyone after, and evil BF reassures him by saying "I've got it" so BF doesn't panic.
I find it kinda interesting how in the end, Bf just begins singing into the void, hoping for something to happen, and then he reaches out just before passing out again. Idk why but just the look and feeling of hopelessness there is rather interesting to me to see BF express when he’s normally quite confident and smug
Hopelessness... like what i felt when 3rd song (Squizofrenzy) of evil bf vs Corrupted Mommy Mearest, and 4rd song (ROOTS) of evil BF vs Corrupted Senpai and 3rd song (Deathmatch) of evil BF vs Corrupted Daddy Dearest... I love that feeling in these kind of things.
I just realized this week might be showing us what happens on the inside to the character's who are getting uncorrupted but seem too immediately revert after their song
I feel like the “soul BF” is actually trying to help us. He’s acting all evil and battling BF to give him confidence and to prepare him for when he has to fight the rest of the corrupted. But when the Corrupted BF on the screen woke up, and when the orange cracks on the sides appeared, he said “Not again.” as if he’s losing control on the help he can give to BF, so he tries to keep BF calm by telling him to focus on the battle, all while simultaneously trying to stop the Corrupted BF from taking over. Since he can’t stop the Corrupted BF while with BF, he leaves that “realm” as a last-ditch attempt at holding off Corrupted BF for long enough so that BF can wake up. That’s my theory. I think that Phantom is gonna give us the bad ending then we're gonna have to play the mod to get the good ending. Also huge props to the composer this is without a doubt the best song I have ever heard in Friday Night Funkin' I'm a pretty big guitar fan so that might be it.
I've studied the mod and phantom fear's patterns in the mod are I know that day 2 is almost always the fake out the only exception is senpai (technically) and skid and pump with pico it shows him "saving" bf with the mom it shows her "saving" pico with senpai on day 3 it's the fact that he can't be deleted and with daddy dearest it's that he can reverse the corruption inflicted on himself. My point is how do we know that this isn't a fake
You know, coming back and rewatching this battle. Note how Soul BF says "I've got it." before pulling out the guitar. And the moment he starts playing, BF no longer has his exhausted expression on his face. I might be overthinking here, but it feels like Soul's little guitar riff was meant to serve as a distraction to BF from the creeping corruption influence. And help give him a second wind to finish the song. If that's the case, then that was brilliant on the creator's part because I simply thought it was a little random gag addition they added as they had mentioned behind the scenes.
I believe Soul will come back to help combat the Corruption while the BF we play as will most likely be struggling a bit as he wasn't prepared for what was next
The "This isn't my doing" line really makes me think my "Senpai's Soul is helping BF fight" theory may be right. I feel like we're gonna see some kind of BF empowerd by the Spirit thing, like Naruto and Kurama or something.
I swear the people saying Spirit is still alive and survived the whole game getting corrupted is giving me PTSD of the Dragon Ball community saying Hit left a clone of himself in the tournament of power after he got knocked out
I have a theory that “Evil BF” is actually the one to wake him up from his slumber as he seems to be the one talking and based on his text, he seems to be trying to get BF to stay hoping as he says “I’ve got it” and starts playing guitar causing BF to cheer up, also stating to focus on the battle and that this isn’t his doing. What if “Evil BF” is just his subconscious mind?
After coming back and analyzing this video and the previous, I believe that the text is the voice of the soul. In the first, it would explain who is telling bf to wake up. It tells him his efforts are useless. Try harder. One of the lines “try this” comes right before a flurry of notes. In this video, it seems that bf is beginning to fight back, but in doing so, so must the soul. Yet, corruption comes back. The soul tells bf to ignore it and battle so that bf can handle it. He then says, “I’ve got it.” Then pulls out the guitar, restoring bf’s confidence to get the last bit out. However, he can no longer help bf, and now bf is in the dark, with only himself to fight the darkness. Is it based on only speculation? Of course. Don’t take my theory seriously. Non of this is fact, at least I think.
I also noticed a few lines like focus on our brain and this idnt my doing I personally feel like bf is gonna have a protag transformation after all you must wake up in the dark to move towards the light
Oh my god, I just noticed the text for hitting notes ("sick!" and the number tally for note combo) is actually placed behind the notes, so you don't get your note combo shoved up your face while you're trying to play properly. How come no other mods have done this simple but amazing change? At least, I haven't seen any other mod do it.
But there might be a difference cracks on the walls in bf's mind which might mean they're breaking out of the corruption I think the pupils means the corruption is trying to fight back to gain full control again
I’m saying this based off another’s persons opinion that I agree with here, but you can see the blackness take over evil bf again, and he says “not again” and “just ignore it”, like he’s getting recorrupted after recovering a bit, meaning he’s on bfs side. That would also explain why bf seems almost sad when evil bf is gone, because now he isn’t there to help him. At least for now….

The more I watch these, the more I’m convinced what you’re “fighting” here is actually something trying to help you and not the corruption itself. From the fact that it tells bf what’ll happen if he doesn’t wake up, to telling him to ignore what’s happening and focus on it, it doing stuff like pulling out a guitar to go along with the song and Bf quickly becoming frightened and reaching out to it when it disappears. This whatever or whoever it is seems like they’re actually trying to help you, possibly by teaching you some way to counter the corruption since it travels via sound/voice

Mans predicted the truth before anyone else
My own personal theory was that the corruption created Soul/Evil BF from BF's mind to essentially replace BF in his mind so that the corruption wouldn't need to suppress BF anymore, and was meant to finally break BF completely. During the course of the first three songs, I always felt like Soul was trying to figure out what he wanted to be.. I think that's the reason why the first three songs sort of all feel slightly different, because Soul changes over the course of the three songs until he's no longer the "bad guy" that he mentions in the fourth song. The first song, Tormentor, is Soul trying to do what the corruption wanted and break BF. However, as the corruption starts trying to help Soul break BF, Soul gets mad and starts working against it in the second song when Soul gets annoyed that the corruption is interfering. The end of the second song, I think that the corruption got fed up with Soul and tried to seal him away again (but failed). Then when BF keeps thinking about Soul, it strengthened Soul enough to break the corruption's hold on him. Then in the third song, Soul sheds off his origins of the corruption and becomes what he wants to be, which is shown when he says "This is more my style." He finally gets to do what he wants, as BF wanted to battle him and him and BF seem to understand each other
There's a few things to support the theory Soul was created by corruption. The first is that in the Senpai week, the corruption's true form was actually a twisted image of Soul, not the actual Corrupted BF (which seems intentional, as they could have easily made a corrupted BF sprite, but specifically chose the image of Soul who hadn't been introduced yet). And the first day of Soul's appearance, the song is called Tormentor, possibly indicating Soul's original purpose was tormenting BF (it would make sense, since by this point the world has been overcome by corruption, and the corruption had chances to experiment with different things on the people they'd corrupted). And during the first few days you see he has the same sort of effect as the corruption on the screen (with the veins that appear on screen which are black instead of the corruption's red). Then in the second song, Soul keeps switching between a new form and his original form, which could be a representation of Soul trying to decide between being the tormentor that the corruption made, or helping BF to become something else. Not only does Soul have a similar effect in the first few songs, but he knows exactly how to beat the corruption when no one else seems to know how to fight the corruption (showing he seems to know the corruption better than anyone else). And by the third song, he's given up his corruption origins to be embrace the part of BF he was created from, which is why we don't see his enhanced form or the black veins anymore.

I think Soul BF is trying to uncorrupt BF, and the “Not again” line was because when Pico was saving BF, Evil Boyfriend looked towards the viewer and in a flash, BF was corrupted again. Evil BF looks towards the viewer as the red cracks start to form, so I think they were trying to fight the re-corruption process.

Personally, i think that during the ending sequence, the boyfriend's going from "YES!, I win!", To "I-I win, r-right?" Once he notices everything's disappearing, and finally, he realizes he actually wanted to keep the song going, which is why he's reaching out, before becoming depressed.
That, or BF is slowly realizing that "evil BF" was helping him fight the corruption, and once he fully realizes that the thing that just disappeared possibly saved his life, he reaches out for it.
Or maybe I'm completely wrong. This Mod's been throwing some curve balls lately, so I really don't know what to expect, but I'm here for it.

At one point, evil BF says “it isn’t my choice/doing”. This makes me think we have a Coraline-type situation going on. Monster is like the Other Mother/The Beldam. The things he creates (the manifestations of the evil versions of another being) are under his control and instruction. However, they don’t necessarily *want* to do what they’re told. They try to give subtle hints to this or break it completely when they feel as if their time of being created is short (I.e Other Wybie saves Coraline from the soul mirrors, the other father gives Coraline of the three eyes she needs to escape). I think the same thing is going on here. Evil BF is just doing what he’s told from his creator, Monster, and he’s trying to tell BF, and the audience, this..

Coming back to this, it really feels like the horns and general demon-like appearance might not be a refrence to GF, but a way to signify opposition to the 'angel' - the winged thing that appears behind her. If the corruption appears as an angel, it'd make sense for Soul - one of the people (or uh, beings?) to fight against it most actively and with the best results - to appear as the opposite of one. It might even be both, with GF also fighting against the corruption to some extent.
The fact that Soul seemingly appears in the senpai week is still weird for me, but if you look at the actual sprites, the eye and the mouth are definitely closer to the corruption than Soul, and that version of BF is also missing the tail (which is the other hint to demons beside the horns, and would mean it's not opposed to the corruption, at least symbolically). It's also missing the symbol on the shirt, similar to corrupted BF (where it has been covered by the corruption, even if BF didn't have his coat on), but unlike Soul and BF's conciousness in this song, perhaps indicating that the thing that's in control is not part, or even related, to BF. If anything, Soul might be in a similar predicament as BF at that point in the story - stuck inside of his own mind, unable to control his body (which is a weird thing to say about a person's soul).
Basically, the corruption couldn't just bring corrupted BF into the game, so it transferred his corrupted soul instead, with the real Soul BF not being able to break out. Which could help explain the corruption markings that appear on him here. If we assume Soul is directly tied to BF, something might've 'awakened' deep within BF after deathmatch, prompting soul to gain back control and actually wake up BF's conciousness as well, thus starting the chain of events to him eventually breaking free completely.
He might've also just gone along with the corruption when Spririt threatened to actually kill BF, which he obviously doesn't want to happen, or he's waiting for the right moment. He could even be luring the corruption into a false sense of security, pretending to not resist at all. The whole 'I'm not even real' thing could also imply he didn't really exist at that point, with BF sort of subconsiously creating him, or, at least, giving him a form after deathmatch, with Soul's appearance being based on BF's corrupted soul. These are probably less likely though.
It's also worth mentioning that before the 'Soul is present' line, while the transfer is still ongoing, the partially corrupted pixel BF has very little to do with Soul, design-wise. It might be dark grey base (which Soul shares with the corruption anyway) with different-colored accents The face has those signature corruption teeth and even two eyes which don't resemble Soul's eye at all, and the character doesn't actually float. The only thing that could be a refrence to soul is probably the fact that the accents are white, not pink. Everything else points to the fact that Soul himself only got transferred into the game towards the very end of the week, as the transfer fully completed (hence, y'know, 'Soul is present' xD), with the sprite gaining more of his characteristics.
As someone else mentioned, Soul getting his glowy form here matches pretty well with BF gaining back more control - The horns appearing and tail getting a glow would symbolise that they're fighting/opposing the corruption more intensly, the symbol getting a glow would indicate that BF's conciousness is growing stronger and more pronounced within his own body/mind, and the corruption markings would show how BF is breaking out, with them revealing Soul's glowing and white inside, contrasting how the corruption's darkness usually covers it's victims.

yeah, I was also thinking the same thing, bf really had no way to put himself into the dating simulator without daddy dearest, who wasn't yet corrupted at that point. So I always thought he had transferred his soul into the game which explains the similar appearance to soul bf, even in the senpai week this version of bf is called "Soul_bf" which I guess can be summed to Soul bf was also held captive by the corruption if he is a part of bf. And Soul must've been awakened when corrupted bf transferred his soul into the game but, of course bf was corrupted during souls creation. Which could also explain why he closer resembles a corrupted bf rather than having a closer color scheme to normal bf. And as for the odd demon design soul has, I really don't know what to say. My best guess is bf really likes demons since you know his girlfriend is a demon, so it would make sense that his soul would resemble a demon if anything.
Soul bf didn't corrupt senpai

The ending looks like a dark cave and you can hear the week 2 lightnings on it, so the next battle its most likely gonna be against Lemon Monster, the creator of the corruption himself

I find it really cool how when the red cracks start appearing, Bf looks worried. Purplish forehead and sweat, that probably means the corruption is getting further into his head. Afterwards, he starts getting uncontrollably worried. Definitely meaning that something happened to him. He also reaches out at the end as if he needs someone or something.
It's also strange that the song is called Nuerosis, which is a disease with symptoms like stress, anxiety and depression. It also has obsessive tendencies but I don't see how that would link.
Who knows? Perhaps they'll do a twist where the Corruption doesn't actually exist and it's actually just a metaphor for Boyfriend's condition

The final could possibly one final burst of hope for bf as he raps solo as he attempts to either break free from the corruption or as an attempt to bring back soul bf to help him break free, another theory for the final battle could be bf fighting his corruption as the corruption takes form as bf . The last theory I have for the ending is that you fight memories of all the people that bf had corrupted as it plays the songs from their final battle as bf try’s to stand up to the corruption and leave the memories of the corruption in the past to attempt to defeat the corruption.

I like to think of evil BF as something similar to Omori from Omori. He's the mental embodiment of the real BF, and he represents Bf's inner demons. Here, however, Evil BF is trying to help BF the best he can. A preparation for the final battle.
And omori is trying to block off the demons from sunny's mind so he doesnt suicide. Black space is literally those demons and at the last day omori fights sunny to see if hes ready to see the truth

I think the reason soul bf is black and white is because At the two most extreme ends of the color spectrum are black and white! White often represents innocence, purity, and new beginnings. Black, on the other hand, can be seen as conservative or intimidating, but it is also often associated with sophistication, luxury, confidence, and strength
And the reason corrupted bf is red and black is because Black and red. After Daddy Dearest falls to the corruption, Boyfriend somehow regains consciousness. He is now trapped in his own mind, fighting for control against the Corrupted Soul. Here, it is confirmed that the Corrupted Soul takes on a different form than the corrupted body, resembling Week 6's "Roots" sprite. BF's body is visible through what appears to be a static-filled TV screen in the background, where BF's corrupted body seems to be reacting to the resistance. Throughout the song, the Corruption mocks and taunts BF, saying things like "too easy" and "not enough".
In the second song, the Corrupted Soul is the same, but he briefly gains whiter horns whilst flickering softly. I just realized this week might be showing us what happens on the inside to the character's who are getting uncorrupted but seem too immediately revert after their song
I feel like the “soul BF” is actually trying to help us. He’s acting all evil and battling BF to give him confidence and to prepare him for when he has to fight the rest of the corrupted. But when the Corrupted BF on the screen woke up, and when the orange cracks on the sides appeared, he said “Not again.” as if he’s losing control on the help he can give to BF, so he tries to keep BF calm by telling him to focus on the battle, all while simultaneously trying to stop the Corrupted BF from taking over. Since he can’t stop the Corrupted BF while with BF, he leaves that “realm” as a last-ditch attempt at holding off Corrupted BF for long enough so that BF can wake up. That’s my theory.

You know, coming back and rewatching this battle. Note how Soul BF says "I've got it." before pulling out the guitar. And the moment he starts playing, BF no longer has his exhausted expression on his face. I might be overthinking here, but it feels like Soul's little guitar riff was meant to serve as a distraction to BF from the creeping corruption influence. And help give him a second wind to finish the song. If that's the case, then that was brilliant on the creator's part because I simply thought it was a little random gag addition they added as they had mentioned behind the scenes.

After coming back and analyzing this video and the previous, I believe that the text is the voice of the soul. In the first, it would explain who is telling bf to wake up. It tells him his efforts are useless. Try harder. One of the lines “try this” comes right before a flurry of notes. In this video, it seems that bf is beginning to fight back, but in doing so, so must the soul. Yet, corruption comes back. The soul tells bf to ignore it and battle so that bf can handle it. He then says, “I’ve got it.” Then pulls out the guitar, restoring bf’s confidence to get the last bit out. However, he can no longer help bf, and now bf is in the dark, with only himself to fight the darkness.
Is it based on only speculation? Of course. Don’t take my theory seriously. Non of this is fact, at least I think.

Oh my god, I just noticed the text for hitting notes ("sick!" and the number tally for note combo) is actually placed behind the notes, so you don't get your note combo shoved up your face while you're trying to play properly. How come no other mods have done this simple but amazing change? At least, I haven't seen any other mod do it.

Here's a little detail I noticed. At 1:01 Corrupted BF's eyes starts to glow again, meaning that BF definitely lost this round.

But there might be a difference cracks on the walls in bf's mind which might mean they're breaking out of the corruption I think the pupils means the corruption is trying to fight back to gain full control again

I’m saying this based off another’s persons opinion that I agree with here, but you can see the blackness take over evil bf again, and he says “not again” and “just ignore it”, like he’s getting recorrupted after recovering a bit, meaning he’s on bfs side.
That would also explain why bf seems almost sad when evil bf is gone, because now he isn’t there to help him. At least for now….
