There's two more tweaks that can make the Wii look even sharper over HDMI; disabling the de-flicker filter with priiloader and, if you have an early model Wii, using the "480p fix" (not needed for later Wii models)

I didn't really find it to be that big of a difference when compared against component + OSSC combo. The AVE-HDMI removes the analog blur, but for some games, it's negligible, especially if it's something fast-paced. I had to really zoom and look for it to notice in some instances, and when it gets to that point, it kind of defeats the need.

It is. Any console two generations behind is retro.
Now that PS5 is out, PS3 is retro. PS2 became retro when PS4 came out.
Xbox 360 became retro since Xbox Series S/X is out. Original Xbox became retro when Xbox One launched.
And finally, the Nintendo Switch is out, therefore the Wii is now retro. The GameCube became retro once the Wii U launched.

The Limited vs full SRGB is not a night and day difference..its very subtle & doesn't hamper enjoyment of games on a modded Wii U. The controller (either pro or gamepad)on the Wii U is also much better than anything you can attach to an original Wii and makes the games more fun to play in my opinion. Neat that this exists and it's certainly good from a future proofing perspective. My Wii is gathering dust currently, and I kind of doubt that having the convenience of HDMI would somehow make me play it more, but it's cool that it's an option.

@DeadPig325 there's some kind of interference in the Wii with wii2hdmi adapter that makes strange noise appear on the screen with the mcable, and zero of these interference looking artifacts with the Wii U. That being said, the upscaling makes it look incredible in both situations. The Wii U seems to handle it better, in terms of filling the TV correctly and looking cleaner, though.

I think you are confusing component with composite. Composite (red, yellow, white) is standard on just about every TV in existence. The video quality is very bad on composite. Component (Red, green, blue) on the other hand isn't very common. Most modern TV's don't offer a component connection. Even though it produces a much better picture than composite.

GameCube games look unreal. And if you hack your Wii, you can turn off the "deflicker" on the system level for an even better picture. RetroTink should be fine too without having to convert to HDMI but it would be good to see a side by side.
