A horror game that knows when you’re scared or nervous? Heck yeah. That would be awesome. I’m not exactly sure what kind of mechanics you could do with that, but I bet that someone could come up with something.
I would say the maps are filled to the brim with traps and jumpscares and they only activate when there is a certain fear level, so basically no gameplay shows the same features.
Eternal Darkness featured a sanity bar that lowered everytime you were spotted by a monster, and your character would experience hallucinations when it was too low. Some broke the fourth wall, like your save file corrupting or your TV turning off. It could work with a mechanic like this.
Honestly, I think this would be especially great if they didn't advertise it at all. Usually, with cool features like this, it's advertised to death and made the main selling point and that always ends with disappointment.

Breath of the wild doesn't deserve that title. Breath of the Wild wouldn't be here without OoT which introduced Gorons, Gerudo, and the OoT Zoras (water enemies in the LoZ and ALttP) Ocarina of Time will forever hold that title. Am also being a sentimental goof.
@@matguimond92 ill say OoT is probably more innovative and .. you know all that. But like there's a case that BOTW could be the best zelda game since like- you know, it certainly has better graphics, actual voice acting, and a LOT more stuff to do. Like I'm 300 hours in and still have like 3 more shrines to go (dont get me started on koroks). Best Zelda game of it's time? DEFINITELY Ocarina of Time. But just by itself...? I mean .. I'd argue Breath of the Wild. It literally doesn't block you from doing anything. Like you can beat the great plateau and then go and fight ganon right then... if you wanted. even as a serious gamer, I still absolutely adore the Wii remote and nunchuck combo. While it did have a design that maximized its use for motion controls, its use of two separate controllers at once was extremely revolutionary and unique. First of all, this allowed for you to change the side of the controller that each hand controlled, since each controller was for one hand, so lefties and righties could play easily. Also, this made it really fun to adapt playstyles since you can choose at any point to use a different controller in your dominant hand if you want to focus on the use of the actions in a game associated with that controller. This was really cool in games like The Force Unleashes, where force abilities and moves were controlled through the use of the nunchuck buttons, while the Wii remote controls the lightsaber via motion controls, so you could focus on lightsaber combat or force combat more depending on circumstances.
Brendan Lewis obviously you do care. I don’t understand why you’re getting so worked up about someone pointing out their favorite quote from the video.
Fun fact: in 2007 when my family got a Wii for Christmas we also got a collection of Wii remote attachments to make the Wii remotes look like the different tools for the Wii sports lineup. We took them out of the box, and it either didn’t come with the piece we needed to attach them to the Wii remotes, or we accidentally threw it away with the box. Either way we got them and immediately couldn’t use them. They are still sitting in a box in my living room to this day. We have still never touched them beyond pushing them out of the way. We have not thrown them away.
I remember we got that bundle of plastic that Scott showed and like Scott we realized they were worthless. Mostly. See we kept the bat because of all the hunks of plastic we enjoyed swinging I think my brother enjoyed swinging the bat the most. And my oldest brother loved using the steering wheel in Mario Kart since it was rather sturdy and had a wider area to grip than the Wii Wheel. What'd I use? *Nothing.* Hands were tiny when I was a kid sitting on the floor so I preferred just holding the Wii remote.
Back in the day I had a rechargeable Wiimote Stand which came with rechargeable batteries for the remotes, and when they ran dry you just plugged them in and they recharged.
@@anaisabelpais7389 When friends forget to charge their controllers. My brother experienced that. Hey, wanna play some Mario Kart? Too bad, cause we forgot to recharge our controllers!
@@Wesley-76 I’ve still got them *somewhere* but no clue where. I remember finding them a couple of years ago and they just didn’t hold a charge at all. These days we just use AAs and it’s easier.
My best friend also had this. I was kinda jealous of that since it wasn’t freely available here and he only got it cuz his cousin lived abroad. It was really cool though.
The wheel actually had benefits though. I always have had a problem with my hands cramping up from joint and nerve issues, and how small and precise you had to be with the controller. It actually helped me more than what most consider useless.
I'm having serious nostalgia as I realize I was 16 when this system came out, and I love that there are commentators like him who are giving the younger gens their own sarcastic/light-hearted AVGN, like Scott; and I love even more so the 00s are now starting to become "classic". And now that I think of it, I am totally getting Sega's crappy add-ons/accessories vibes; I'm surprised they never tried to revive the Donkey Konga game.

I always found so weird that the classic controllers had a lowercase a and b buttons but the normal motion controller had an uppercase a and b buttons.
I think the idea was that with different letters for the buttons, on-screen / printed control maps could ensure that the player knew which was which, since the Classic Controller "b" button didn't always map to the same controls as the Wiimote "B" button, etc. Google scans of the _Monster Hunter Tri_ instruction manual for a... _severe_ example.
@Brendan Lewis You know that you misspelled something while trying to point out something They misspelled, and that nobody cares what you think is "funny" or not?
@Brendan Lewis sorry, I didn't read the entire comments section. Sorry to Scott, I made a typo. Oh did you ? Good for you. Yes, you made a spelling mistake, but that's fine, I understood what you meant. But you crossed a line when you insulted @patrick harris. That was rude and unnecessary. Now it's a bad time worldwide so I understand that you might have some frustration. But that doesn't give you a good enough reason to insult people on the internet. Don't be rude, and stay safe.
I actually had the remote charging station. Was kinda cool if you consistently used 2 Wiimotes that saved a ton on batteries. If you remembered to plug them back in at night you could always have a fully charged Wiimote that would last a solid week. The big problem with it was that if you stopped using your controllers for an extended time you couldn't play the game unless you grabbed a pair of batteries or waited for it to fully charge. They also came with their own backs so if you ever owned one you instantly lost the original backings so if you ever switched back to batteries, well tape is a magical invention. All my Wii remotes now have scotch tape on their backs to hold the batteries in. Also the lights on the charging station to indicate when it was charging (solid blue light) or fully charged (blinking blue light) were insanely bright. If your Wii TV was also used for late night movies a magazine to cover the station was absolutely mandatory or it would illuminate the entire room.
Probably wasn't the actual reason, but I imagine one possible reason they used Link rather than Samus for the zapper pack-in could be that, because Samus uses a cannon that is just her arm, NOT using the wii zapper and just pointing with your arm would be more like how Samus actually shoots, and thus telling the player to use the zapper with a metroid game could therefore be seen as decreasing immersion, something i doubt Nintendo would have wanted with the pack in title for their accessory that is literally just for helping games feel more immersive

“I’m surprised not that many games supported dual wii remotes as an option”
Stop telling me things I didn’t know I needed
You can play samba de amigo with 2 wii remotes but the maracas accessory comes with one maracas "thing" for the wii remote and one for the nunchuck so if you want the true samba de amigo experience on the wii you need to buy 2 sets. Godammit I needed the true samba de amigo experience.
A lot of Wii U Games did this, Wii Fit U Rhythm boxing for example.
Best Zelda game:
-Ocarina of time-
-Breath of the wild-
Link's crossbow training
You forgot Fresh-Picked Tingles Rosy Rupeeland and the CDI games
1. Breath of the Wild
2. The Legend of Zelda
3. A Link to the Past
4. Link's Awakening (Gameboy)
5. Wind Waker
Breath of the wild doesn't deserve that title.
Breath of the Wild wouldn't be here without OoT which introduced Gorons, Gerudo, and the OoT Zoras (water enemies in the LoZ and ALttP)
Ocarina of Time will forever hold that title.
Now OBVIOUSLY OoT beats BOTW in music and story, and I'm not afraid to say that. I've beaten both games, and OoT is way more innovative then the "open world," but man BOTW gives you SO MUCH freedom..

even as a serious gamer, I still absolutely adore the Wii remote and nunchuck combo.

We have not thrown them away.
why have i not had an original experience 😭

I didn’t owned a wii, but a friend did and every time I went to his house I would see a transparent plastic box with some of these
I wonder if you can still get a Wii in the stores.

My favorite quote in this whole video. Highly underrated.

@I say Zuka Zama every first and popular comment Why do you keep doing this to us, I don't understand
