Wii Sports Resort really is something special. Wuhu Island is one of the most fully realized locations Nintendo's ever had, which is crazy since it's so down to earth compared to their more wacky worlds. But I think that's the beauty of it, being so similar to our own world, and yet so inviting all the same. Kind of surprised Ring Fit Adventure wasn't included. I think it definitely fits the general "vibe" of a Wii series game, but maybe it's just a bit too different to really put it in the same category as Wii Fit despite both being fitness-centered games.
Nintendo Switch Sports is here because it's banking on the Wii Sports formula through and through, and Wii Chess is just here because it wrote Wii on its nametag. Ring Fit Adventure doesn't really have either of those, even with Wii Fit in mind because they are fundamentally and structurely completely different, not to mention it doesn't even acknowledge Miis at all.
@@MizunoKetsuban That's a good point. Actually kind of surprises me that there's no presence of Miis at all in Ring Fit Adventure. Not even as some sort of profile picture for a leaderboard or tracking your progress. Then again, ever since the Switch entered the scene, Miis have been less emphasized and present in Nintendo's games and marketing. Even the Mii Maker is hidden in the profile settings of the Switch as opposed to being up front in one of the game-card slots as it's own separate application like before. But circling back to your point, you're right. Ring Fit Adventure is ultimately it's own separate thing detached from Wii Fit and the greater Wii series of games and is structually a lot diffeent gameplay-wise despite aiming for a similar audience. It's not a direct sequel or remake. You could see it as a spiritual successor, as many see it as "the Switch's Wii Fit", but it's still its own thing. It's like if someone compared 1-2 Switch to Wii Play/Motion as the Switch's equivalent to that, but it has no ties to it really, and again, has no Miis present.
I play the shit out of Nintendo Switch Sports , I got it like a year and a half ago and still boot it up semi-regularly. Its awesome. I think it got placed too low. I dont have friends who would ever want to play wii sports so the online-centric design really bumps it up for me. It also gets me up and moving which is a big reason I play it.
I would have made Wii Chess to be something like "Wii Board" in which you have other board games apart of chess, like ludo, jenga, "beer pong", card house, etc. Some of them would have been interesting just because you have to keep your pulse while using the Wii remote in order to play them, and others would let you to customize you pieces in the board (based on a comment done before this one). Anyway, this chess or board game mode had much more potential but it was critically wasted. P.D. great work doing this ranking! It gave me some nostalgia vibes, thank you for that!
My family and I ADORED Wii Party (the original) we played it every weekend and got so worked up over this silly little mii game. It was our wonderful tradition and I will always be nostalgic for it
It's wild to me how Scott doesn't remember that Wii Chess doesn't use Miis. I think he mixed up his criticism that it didn't use Miis with the game not using Miis to create a false memory. The game is just that boring.
Tbh I actually really loved wii music as a kid. I remember my dad bought it for me after I found it in the $5 bin, and while it was never as good as the other wii games, I had a lot of fun just messing around and making the worst sounding performances with my friends
I always loved the concept of Wuhu Island. I always wanted a free roam mode in Wii Sports Resort outside of only flying around the island. After watching this video, I see that Wii Fit U has some kind of Wuhu Island biking, which is great, but. I didnt have Fit U nor a Fit Board.
I know these are supposed to be somewhat simple somewhat dumb fun for the most part… but these games were genuinely such a great entry point for many of my non-gaming friends or relatives I wanted to play games with. I feel like there’s a bit of a missed opportunity with ideas like these on the switch. I think I also just feel like my switch mii’s are too forgotten and never included in my switch fun
Yeah, they want us to forget about the Miis, so they try to hide them in settings. Since a lot of us had childhood memories of the Miis no matter how hard they try the Miis will refuse to die out.

I think Wii Sports OG is also super important because it came for FREE with every Wii sold. So literally, anyone who had a Wii, also had Wii Sports. It meant everyone could play with everybody and i think thats why it was also so effective for us all. I also think 1-2 Switch might have had a better reception if it was free bundled with the Switch like Wii Sports instead of a $60 game. Because i wonder if the original Wii Sports would have had the same reception if it pulled the same move 1-2 Switch did
I really hope NDCube being the Mario Party developers and us not being on a "Wii" console doesn't snuff out any chance of another Wii Party. The two games aren't just Mario Party wannabes, they're unique, clever, and really charming. You mention there are too many modes, but honestly a lot of them are amazing. Spin-Off, Bingo, Friend Connection, Mii Fashion Plaza, Do U Know Mii, Bridge Burners, it's so fun to have these modes that can let you play the game so many different ways with your friends and family. And EVERY Party game needs a Spot the Sneak, that mode singlehandedly makes Wii Party my favorite Party game series

Ok, so after seeing the video, the final ranking is
13. Wii Chess: 1:11
12. Wii Music: 3:07
11. Wii Sports Club: 5:23
10. Nintendo Switch Sports: 10:13
9. Wii Party U: 17:58
8. Wii Party: 21:33
7. Wii Fit: 22:51
6. Wii Play Motion: 25:02
5. Wii Play: 27:35
4. Wii Fit Plus: 30:00
3. Wii Sports: 30:35
2. Wii Fit U: 32:22
1. Wii Sports Resort: 33:38
Sports , play , and resort are all masterpieces .. yes play in it’s own right is a masterpiece lol
Party Too IMO
My family and I ADORED Wii Party (the original) we played it every weekend and got so worked up over this silly little mii game. It was our wonderful tradition and I will always be nostalgic for it
i play wii party at least once a week, an absolute childhood staple of mine. i actually enjoyed wii music as well!
Wii Music was wildly fun and enjoyable when I was a kid and I will defend it with my life
It's wild to me how Scott doesn't remember that Wii Chess doesn't use Miis.
I love wii party so much it's just so nostalgic to me 😭 wii sports resort, wii sports, and wii fit are also all amazing
ahhh the good ol' Wii series, an absolute classic...and my favourite fucking video game franchise ever!! next to Cooking With Mama...
Forgetting about wii sports club is very fitting...
Wii Sports Resort is such a banger. Wuhu Island is easily one of my favorite worlds in all of gaming
@@therealzhenplaz200I'm just glad that the 2 games I play the most on switch, miitopia and smash ultimate, utilize the miis pretty heavily.
I wanna see theses on the main channel while we’re waiting for a main post this would be a nice sunrise
Big fan of the "carpet-tier-lists" lmao
Here’s the rankings for anyone trying to keep track:
1. Wii Sports Resort
2. Wii Fit U
3. Wii Sports
4. Wii Fit Plus
5. Wii Play
6. Wii Play Motion
7. Wii Fit
8. Wii Party
9. Wii Party U
10. Nintendo Switch Sports
11. Wii Sports Club
12. Wii Music
13. Wii Chess
Wii Party is by far the best one
Ah, Wii Chess… Chess you can’t feel
I genuinely loved Wii Music - I played it loads as a kid, and for some reason it was one of my go-to games when my friends came over
i much prefer the format of the videos on this channel. the casualness makes it feel much more personal
Really wished nintendo would make a game where it's nothing but their past minigames. Really wanted to see the tableboard games from party u come to clubhouse games
Wii Fit U changed lives
The switch sports avatars look like uncanny valley for animal crossing player characters. They have a similar vibe, same face shape, even the little red-orange triangle nose, but theyre just. Too detailed.
Weird to put Cooking Mama 3 as your #1 Wii Series game, but go off
I love this era of Nintendo, so nostalgic and different.
W, wii games are the best. Scott, is also... ok. Jk, W Scott.
The golfing in Wii Sports Club is amazing. Genuinely one of the best golfing games on a home console... The Gamepad implementation is cool as hell
I love the original Wii Sports, but it would not be fondly remembered if it wasn't a Wii pack-in.
every shot with the game boxes on the carpet and scott’s arms make me imagine that he’s just filming these while laying face down on the ground swinging his legs in the air
The original Wii Party is honestly amazing, The soundtrack is so good too
Now this is content
That chess gameplay is so attrocious😭 losing against a rook and queen on lv2 is wild
If you ever think you're useless, just remember that Wii Chess exists.
Imagine Wii Chess like this: Miis in costumes and fighting in a cool fashion with additional mission modes
Or the pieces had the heads of miis on your system
Oh god I hope he reviews the entire Wii Series
Crazy to say I almost completely agree ur ranking! Although I never play Wii U before (I just skip it and play wii when I was young)
And I love ur content Wii is my best childhood memory
So keep it up I looking forward to ur new content 🫡
I think Wii Sports OG is also super important because it came for FREE with every Wii sold. So literally, anyone who had a Wii, also had Wii Sports. It meant everyone could play with everybody and i think thats why it was also so effective for us all.
I also think 1-2 Switch might have had a better reception if it was free bundled with the Switch like Wii Sports instead of a $60 game. Because i wonder if the original Wii Sports would have had the same reception if it pulled the same move 1-2 Switch did
Wii Play Tanks didn’t have to be such an S-Tier mini game
Always amazed by how much Scott's hands emote.
partially related but i feel that 1-2 switch or everybody 1-2 switch would make for great scott the woz episodes
Great video!
I'd consider Pilotwings Resort to be part of the Wii series as well.
I kinda want Nintendo’s next console to be another adaptation of the Wii, just so that they can make another “Wii” game without ruining the branding.
One of the biggest reasons that I don’t like NS sports is because they ruined the branding (imo) by renaming it to Nintendo Switch Sports instead
Say what you will, but that physical copy of Wii Sports Club will be the most valuable one in the future.
Miiverse Forever, I'll be waiting Everlasting like the sun...
