Dallas gal here born and raised, from parents who met in the club scene in the 80’s, found a vinyl copy on eBay to present to them… they lost their minds to that siren 🚨🚨🚨

I remember this song at the club. The sirens would come on, and we'd rush the dance floor.

Given the fact that this song was released on a small indie label, it’s a miracle that it even charted at all. Great catchy tune. Peaked at No. 80 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1987.

I remember hearing this on some Dallas radio stations back in the mid 80s and just assumed they were playing it all over the country. Had no idea it was just a Dallas thing.

There are always songs that do better in some markets than others. The fact it made the Billboard Hot 100 is impressive. Two other songs that were huge in Dallas include Wham Rap by Wham! and I Will Surrender by 4 Reasons Unknown. The latter was another band from Dallas, TX, and MTV gave their video a lot of airplay.

Oak Lawn Records released a few compilation CDs back in the day. This song is included on one of those discs - Oak Lawn Records Energy Club Classics. The collections are very rare these days. I'm not aware of any streaming services that have rights to air Oak Lawn Records artists. It's really a shame. Great club memories!

I can't believe this song only reached #80 on Billboard's Hot 100. I was music director for a Top 40 radio station in Mobile, Alabama called WABB-FM and this was a Top 10 hit for us!

~ Love 7" singles!! We always beat-mixed the 7" version by Rare Earth into the jet-craft taking off break on the Uptown 12" in 1987 in NEW ORLEANS' French Quarter. This song was, and is, and will forever be, a dance floor staple! Cheers, DAVEDJ~
