    Fascinating. Do Cottonwood trees grow in this riparain area, as well?
    Interestingly, in 1992, in Morris, IL., I met a guy who said he tapped Butternut trees for syrup.

      Yes, cottonwood trees love riparian areas! Do you have some uses for cottonwoods you'd like to share?
      Butternuts are also know as "white" walnut trees. We have another video about tapping black walnut trees:

      @@nature-basedenterprises3859 I saw many sites featuring their uses, from bud extracts to better-than-expected timber for barn (etc) construction. However, I have a list of interesting facts I can share. It's long, so I hesitate.
