A friend told me Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan are in alphabetical order if you go clockwise around a circle (radius approx. 200 miles, centered on Dushanbe, start at the north). Doesn't cover Afghanistan and Pakistan, but I just think it's neat
I had trouble with the middle four so I memorized U's to the west, T's to the south. More to memorize but I'd definitely take forever to figure out where they actually are from the alphabetical trick.

I sloppily memorized that Turkmenistan is nearest in proximity to Turkey, Kyrgyzstan is touching Kazakhstan, and the rest kinda works itself out
