Yes, would be better because it takes very much time to build all farms. In this time you can easily craft 5 Axes or something idk and chop down the whole forest
@@bella01808 my axe is fully enchanted, including mending, so I would just need to repair it, also I ended up just planting some saplings with a slab to stop them from going too high and a hole one block deep in front of where I plant the sapling, so it was possible to break the entire tree without breaking leaves if you crouched. Using that technique, I got enough wood for my floor after a while.

You always need an iron farm, slime is always useful if you do redstone and both these farm are pretty easy and quick to build, especially if you're not going for optimal rates. And once you've built the wood farm (these on the other hand, depending of what you want out of it, can be pretty big and complex), you won't ever need to go cut wood ever again when you want to build something.
A point to remember about Gnembon's design (farm 5) is that it is very lag friendly. The villagers only get scared when they actually produce a new golem. Scaring them constantly doesn't increase rates and is resource heavy. In his analysis of farm designs, he actually recommends a different version, with more villager pods with multiple platforms on which to spawn the golems. It is very efficient.
@@flintfrommother3gaming I don't know how much resource it consumes, but it certainly has an impact. They can only produce golems once every 30-35 seconds so there's no point scaring them more than that.

It might be marginal, but when you advance in your world, make more farms, water streams and other lag inducing stuff, having a more optimal farm regarding usage of resources is preferred.
I have designed a iron farm, it produces 143 iron ingots/hour per villager. and it needs a less obsidian than the improved fourth design. (nice video btw)

The third farm is honestly really good for the increasingly small amount of resources it demands, I recommend as long as you aren’t looking to build any major projects out of iron blocks.
Nice Video. I like these designs. But the simplicity rating for the third farm is to be taken with a huge grain of salt. It's maddening to get the zombie into the composter. I gave up on that and kept him on the composter for a long time. A long time later I realised he had finally fallen into the composter and could remove the blocks that I added to hold him on the thing.

It's a shame that these types of farms don't work on Bedrock. You need a minimum of 20 beds and 10 working villagers (with jobs) to get any golems at all in Bedrock. 😔 Edited: typo - should have been 20 beds and not 10.
@@muhammadzahin3240 For iron farms on Bedrock you may want to look at videos by Prowl8413, SilentWhisper, JC Playz or other Bedrock specific channels. The coding in Bedrock means that some things work very differently than they do in the Java version. Iron Golem mechanics is one of those things that is different.

True I once tried the portal farm and portals connected to my normal portal. So when I wanted to travel through the nether I spawned in iron farm. It killed 2 of my friends when they tried to help me fix the portal. I spent 4 hours fixing it. It's a good farm but for me it's not worth it. I use wattles farm only because of the simplicity and good amount of iron/gold.
For all of you guys that are wondering why he put a piece of white wool below the hopper, it's because he used the hopper counter feature in carpet mod to keep track of the rates.
I would suggest Wattles’ compact iron farm. You need to build it up 20 blocks, and it’s hell to get the zombie and the villagers up so high, but it’s worth it in the end.
Wattles is awesome! Definitely recommend checking out Shulkercraft if you're getting into more automated farms though. If you haven't seen their tutorials: they make it all in survival and tell you the materials (all of them and in exact amounts) at the start in a nice, singular shot.
I will say I love your videos but with all the different type of farms and not knowing which ones are upgrades, making this a series will be a jackpot and I hope to see more
with farm 2 you can make the golem spawn platform below the zombie/villager platform leading to a pit similar to farm 3. the whole thing inclosed in a building made out of half-blocks

One thing that wasn't addressed is the lag efficiency of each design. Does the 5th design have a lower mspt/(iron/hour) than the 4th? If so, it may be preferable in some situations.

Nice comparison. But in the fourth farm, why didn't you use MineTheFab's add-on that transports the ingots back to the farm. Just a little redstone, yet it makes the farm much more useful. Made it yesterday and the farm works great. I'm really enjoying your comparison videos. Here's a suggestion: Add a "practicality" or "usability" category. For example, a farm should be marked down when you have to AFK in one place, and collect the loot in another. Keep up the good work!
I think I have a better version of the "simple" iron farms: It's the bread and butter jumping-zombie in the middle, with two sets of 3 villagers on opposite sides: BUT, the farm is high enough in the sky (like 20-tall) so that the iron golems fall beyond the villagers' sights as soon as possible, AND the two villagers "sets" are far enough apart so that each set doesn't see the iron golem that the others are spawning (while still being scared by the zombie), which maximizes the spawn rates. Each set of 3 villagers produces 350/hr, both being 700/hr, and you can tile it up, etc (with small loss of efficiency, etc)
