Loving the videos with commentary lately. I used to just click off the older videos with stripped audio immediately, now I stay for at least 50% or greater. Thanks!!
I think more praise should be shown on the two surprises the car did for you in this video. The first being the car slipping into that bike lane for that right turn next to the truck you felt may not have been enough room for was pretty incredible. I make a turn like that nearly every day on my way home that few normal drivers do, but to see FSD do that turn so effortlessly was fantastic. Also, the way the car moved up to allow room for a car to go into the left turn lane was another both human like, but also more considerate action than most drivers on the road who are mostly oblivious about, is again a huge testament to how good FSD is becoming.
I’m going to subscribe to fsd next week on MY. Auto Pilot is useful for certain drives but fsd really is many leaps forward. I appreciate these videos. Thx!
I really enjoyed the ride share conversation video, any plans for more of those in the Future, that is may favorite. I love hearing people surprised on how good dad is compared to their expectations.
As far as the flashing reds, maybe it is not seeing it as a flashing red, because there is also a stop sign there so it is just reading that. We maybe should see what will happen when there is a flashing red with no stop sign present as well.
Next time press the acceleration on yellow. It should learn from you. Nice video ! I don’t have yet the update, still on 11.4.9 but … can’t wait to get it the latest version too !
My FSD gets a 75% rating. It leans towards curbs (ok, I need a wheel alignment after buying new tires), but I had a few Interventions. 1. Delays and confuses human drivers in a 4way. 2. Doesn't stop or slow down at school bus stop signs 3. It doesn't see or follow yellow speed signs. I have a back road that requires 10mph to go into the turn, well FSD doesn't see that and goes into the turn at 40mph. Other than that it does very well, in urban Virginia streets.
17:19 not as close to 100% here on the narrow, shoulder-less suburban and semi-rural roads in my neck of the woods. But still pretty good. With 12.3.4-6 safety has become the exception to my usual reasons for intervention.
I love your videos! Thanks for creating such informative content. I live and drive in the same areas around Rancho Palos Verdes and find I get the steering wheel nag on roads where you do not. I'm running the same FSD version as you on a brand-new Model X. Any idea why I have to apply pressure to the wheel where you don't?
I'm pretty new to FSD and have to say I'm impressed but I've run into some issues that seem pretty basic and was wondering if these are know issues or just idiosyncratic events. One is the car does not notice blinking speed signs for school zones. In my state, the speed limits around schools go down to 20 mph when school is about to start as as its ending. To signal drivers that the speed limit is reduced, they have flashing yellow lights above 20 MPH signs. The car doesn't seem to notice. Another problem is getting into the wrong lane in preparation for a turn. One time it got into a bus turn out that ended before the road it was getting ready to take a right on. Another it turned right onto a very large shoulder rather than going out further to stay in the actual lane. Overall, the experience is pretty damn cool.
I don’t think those are idiosyncratic events. I have the same exact issues on 12.3.6. I drive through a school zone everyday to work and FSD does not recognize it. It also doesn’t recognize buses stop lights for when they stop to pick up a kid. I also noticed my car not getting in the correct lane early in preparation for a turn that’s coming up, and being “that guy” who gets over late is something I don’t want to be haha. Another thing that drives me insane is camping in the left most lane on highways.
@@ReverseFlash23if you worry FSD is getting into the correct lane too late, you can click on the turn signal and it should change lane without getting out of FSD like it is with the Autopilot. That save a lot of anxiety.
U don’t get Nags or edited ? Yeah I was shocked when my 12.3.6 slammed on brake on yellow light. Since nobody was behind me I didn’t hit the accelerator to keep on going. Can’t wait what 12.4 could do. Thanks for sharing.
Looking forward to 12.5 highway single stack! My car loves to randomly take incorrect turn lanes aggressively without turn signals on the highway 😢 very annoying and dangerous if you are not prepared to instantly take over!
California DMV rules mandate a “prepare to stop” response at a yellow light! As a former California police officer, I would cite you for any other action.
Is there a reason you don’t show Google Maps vs gray map? Is that not allowed?

18:14 I am from Moldova, and just yesterday watched someone there modified a model Y to drive fsd in the Chisinau. Did you watch that video or why did you mention Moldova? 😀😀😀
it blows my mind that people who review cars will review Tesla models and not even show the FSD. mindblowing and nobody knows about it. a crime against humanity really...
+ Well I am one of the FREE 30 day FSD trial people. This is interesting having the vehicle drive itself, but I cannot justify spending 99 dollars a month for something I don't really need. I am retired, 75 years old,, and I just do short trips around town. My kind of routes are very easy to drive myself. If I could make some money off of using FSD, then maybe I would get it. But I am not going to get FSD just to say I have it. And the FSD system seems to Robotic. For me, FSD is just an added high priced luxury, even doing the subscribe option, that I don't need. So it is a NO on getting FSD after June 12th. Also, I see this guy does not do any replies to anyone. Just does videos and tries to get money from us. Last video I will watch from this channel.
I like FSD but my commute is only 5-10 min each way. It doesn't seem worth it for me to pay $100/mo for the little amount of drive. Perhaps the take rate can be increased if there is some sort of pricing structure that will allow people who drive under a certain amount of miles to pay less.
In my neighborhood with several schools and lots of children the 25 MPH speed limit is strictly enforced. Out of the box 12.3.6 is horrible about speeding. Turn off Automatic Set Speed Offset and it will behave. Off should be the default!
It absolutely can. Roads and laws are similar. Yes there are some differences but adapting to new roads is very easy. The most important thing is that the system is fundamentally very capable it can judge road conditions, it detects everything, it can make complicated decisions when to wait, when to avoid something etc. Plus it think that the data for fsd is gathered from all across the globe and not just Usa and Canada.
Really cool. But I really think a way to go to significantly monetize anything. It’s a fancy toy. Tesla won’t educate with advertising and adoption is a long ramp.
18:27 I sure hope there will be a lots more training before they get it over to Europe, especially Germany. It must understand the Straßenverkehrsordnung (StVO), rather than just learning from how others drive. The quality of drivers has already taken a negative hit the past few years, and less and less people drive properly on German roads. We don’t need autonomous cars potentially trained on bad driver's data. Thievish a larger concern I have, and with how FSD behaves in the US, that concern gets a lot of fuel to stay up in my head.
Part of my concern is also that the car cannot visually communicate with other drivers. Here in Germany there are situations where the StVO specifically states to communicate through hand signs if for example you need to give way even though technically you would have the right of way, but can’t due to a traffic situation.
35:31 this is what I mean with it needs to understand the traffic code. It pulled over into a cycle lane. It should never do that. In Germany this is a fine of at least 50€.
Just because there are few bad things that other drivers did doesn't mean that the system will do the same. The AI knows what's bad and won't replicate it. It knows that it has to stop at stop sign even tho some people might not. And it could actually communicate by honking, flashing lights and it has outside speaker that has potential too.

He uses a mod which fakes a steering wheel input and allows FSD to not nag him. One way is there's a chip that goes in the steering wheel and it makes a fake volume input every so often. There's also a newer one which installs in the OBD port of the car.

How could someone say this is not superior to other tech out there?
Because they are short TSLA or long the other tech.
Cant wait to see V12.4 next week upload asap pls.
I'm hoping to see 1, hour driving with no interventions

Thanks again Omar. I grew up in Torrance, these drives are awesome !
Love the starman series from Eli. He is great and do awesome work
I agree with others about the great commentary. I'm much more inclined to watch the entire video with commentary than without. Thanks Omar!
what a perfect fsd vid, hope you can keep doing these with-commentary type of videos

12.4. next week?
Actually This weekend insider first, couple days later here as well.
2 weeks

James Douma explained why v12 NN's only, puts far less pressure on CPU/GPU by using NNU.
