The cumans were group of Turkic nomadic tribes, who comprised the western branch of the Cuman-Kipchak confederation (in Latin Cumania). They inhabited the area north of the Black Sea and along the Volga river. They were fierce and formidable steppe warriors, who had mastered the horse archery. They crossed the Danube and raided many times Bulgaria (then still part of Byzantium before the creation of the Second Bulgarian Tsardom), Hungary and Kievan Rus. Many joined the Byzantine army as mercenaries and contributed with their light cav and horse archers. Many Cumans settled south of the Danube, in regions, populated with Bulgarians, and naturally created families. That is why it's also believed that the first two Tsars of the Second Bulgarian Tsardom (Petar I, the father of Boril, and Asen I, father of Asen II) and their ancestors had some Cuman blood. After the foundation of the Second Bulgarian Tsardom in 1185 the Cuman served also in the Bulgarian army, providing great diversity in their cav force (which is represented in the game). When in 1241 the Golden Horde came knocking on the door of Eastern Europe, the Cumans were forced to leave their homelands north of the Black Sea and many fled to Hungary and Kievan Rus.
I started a campaign as the bulgarian vassal, Wallachia, just for a bit of a challenge, as you kind of lack both the manpower and the evonomy for the stonger units, and after 15 turns, independence and seized all the bulghar lands, with a little help from the latin empire at the siege of stredes.
I know that you tend to maintain a short and concise format when it comes to your series, therefore paradox games might not be ideal for you, but you should definitely consider an imperator Rome let's play, especially now that they have released several updates since launch. In any case, love your stuff dude!
Boril was actually very weak leader. Under his rule Bulgaria loast most of the teritories gained by his predecesor Kaloyoan. It should be Kaloyoan or Ivan Asen II as ruler of Bulgaria.
Thats why the revolution (not exactrly a revolution but i dont remember if it was revolution or an uprising) happened. Ivan Asen the second took the throne, and from this day Bulgaria become more powerful. Unit Ivan Aleksander.
Hello friend. it's been a while since the last time you played 1212 AD, welcome back. about this Bulgaria campaign I think conquering greece and Anatolia will permit you to build a Bulgarian empire and in the process defeating the Latins, the Byzantians and the Turks. about your next 1212 AD campaign: you mentioned Makuria, I think it will be a good choice since you never played in 1212 AD with a faction that have the eastern christianity as religion. also if I may, and since you have done a 1212 AD long campaign with the Byzantians(empire of Nicea): why not do a long muslim faction campaign with the goal is to reunite and unify the muslim world under your banner(even though I think you won't do another 1212 AD long campaign in the near future but it doesn't hurt to ask) and the muslims have some factions that have some powerful units like the Abbasids or the Zengids or the Marinids that have some many mobile and resilent units. and finally, good luck.
Simpzy my friend ty for the video of my country love it but why you keep pronunciation Scopie rhong en.bab.la/dictionary/danish-english/skopje here u can see the correct pronunciation for the name of the City 😁✌️ good luck on campaing

How ''turkic'' they were is very questionable.
Fun fact the Bulgarian Tsar was killed by the Cuman auxiliaries in plot organised by his own wife, who married his nephew.
You should play a faction you’d never thought you’d play, or never wanted to in 1212 A.D. You never know it could be a fun surprise.
One of my favourite factions, i especially love the look of their units
Same

Great content. A little hint: you're mispronouncing Scopie (modern Skopje). It's 'skopye' - no 'sh' in the beginning, with a narrow 'o'.
