He was 8-5 as a starting QB in 2011 then beat the Steelers in the playoffs, and was never given the helm again, based on that he should have been given a shot somewhere, but no whinning or bitterness shown by this young man, I think that speaks volumes about Tim .

Dominic Mallano just because Bill Belichick says he can't play shouldn't be the kiss of death. I'm a Patriots fan and have been my whole life but just cause Bill says it the whole NFL shouldn't agree. Obviously he can play in the NFL, we all saw it when he played for Denver and he did a good job. Maybe he just couldn't play for Belichick because he is the hardest coach to play for. I think he could've played for a few teams at the time. He just needed to find a team and a coach with the offense that suits him best and he needed to work on his arm. I think if he worked really hard on practicing his passing he could've been a really good QB. Tim was just never given a real chance to play.

      @jenspetersen5865 4 года назад

@@birdmantd Tebow's body of work was that he turned around the team with the worst record in the NFL, that had not produce consecutive wins for two years prior, knocked out a 6 game winning streak where he had the lowest turnover percentage in the NFL and produced a long string of Broncos & NFL records... Only Andrew Luck and Jarred Goff have made similar turnarounds in the past decade, and they both had non strike off seasons and competent coaches. Only 3 QBs have won with John Fox, who was given credit for his work, though he was a lump that held both Tebow and Manning back. Tebow was not as good as Peyton Manning nor Tom Brady and that is the knock people use, plus completion percentage.
Tebow was historically great in college, and his short tenure with the Broncos produced the best results ever by any QB drafted by the Broncos!

Come on, keyboard warrior, let me know what my name is since you "know" so much about me.

@Shocking Isn't It? If you don't know what you're talking about, be quiet. It's that simple. You won't make yourself into a complete fool by speaking.
You said, "if you actually played then you wouldn't make suck idiotic statements".
I actually played. And I was good. And I understood the game and still do.
The "idiotic statements" are on your end.
Come on keyboard warrior. What's my name? If you don't know me, don't make stupid assumptions.
Then you mention, "Nothing you can say will change that fact".
You don't know what a "fact" is. What you said is an *OPINION*, not a fact. It's YOUR opinion.
Stating whether someone is good or not is a subjective answer.
And you have audacity to call me a clown. Those are strong words, keyboard warrior.
And it's YOU that are bringing religion into sports. You pathetically think that making fun of me and using ad hominen is actually a valid form of argument. Try sticking to the topic.
Tebow's playoff QB rating is significant better than Elway's. His first season as a start is significantly better than Elway's too.
It's not just Elway, but his stats are better than many all-time greats, especially low seasons.
In his last preseason, he was:
21-of-36 for 286 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception, while rushing for 82 yards and a touchdown.
Those aren't the numbers of someone that's "bad". The reason he's not in the NFL is because of NFL politics, not because of the quality of his play.
As to the Jets, LOL! He had only eight passes. Why? Because the coaches played Mark Sanchez. Mark Sanchez :) I repeat, Mark Sanchez. The reason why the Jets were 6-10 is because they were LOSERS and didn't know how to win.
Good players can't overcome bad coaching (or team ownership). Aaron Rogers may be a better quarterback than Tom Brady, but Brady has an excellent coach staff that surrounds him.
Regarding Belichick, he probably didn't want the distraction at the time with the media frenzy that was going on around Tebow.

    • @Matt-cr4vv

@mosessupposes2571 It’s hard to accept that there are people like you who are being genuine writing this comment, in a sense mocking Elways decision to sign Peyton Manning as a “bromance” and grudge against Tebow as if there was genuinely any question in the decision he made. Tim Tebow seems like an all around good dude and it’s unfortunate that he didn’t have the ability to become a high level NFL QB despite his immense passion but that’s the harsh reality when it comes to playing among the best of the best of the sport. Tebow got to play some games and they pulled off a number of miracle wins and won their division with an 8-8 record. And they pulled off a really cool upset against the Steelers and it was a cool story. But the following week when they played the patriots and got stomped into the ground like they did with basically zero offense it exposed the reality. The debate some want to pretend existed exists in nothing but hope and emotions.
Tim Tebow played in 14 games that season, starting 11, and threw for 1,700 yards and completed 46% of his passes. He only completed 50% 4/14 games. That same 8-8 team with Peyton was immediately 13-3, 13-3, 12-4 and 12-4. Peyton played some of his best for three seasons, broke the yards and TD records, won an MVP, they went to two superbowls and won one. That Pats team that beat them by 35 under Tebow? They beat them in the AFC title game both years they got to the SB. The fairy tale that there was any case for Tebow to be above Peyton or that they were a better team is noble but genuinely moronic to believe.

    • @Matt-cr4vv
      @Matt-cr4vv 4 месяца назад

This talk that he never got a chance has never been true. The dude got chances to perform and earn a role three more times and people refuse to accept it but he just wasn’t good. People can argue til they’re blue in the face that he never had a chance yet ignore that the guy only completed 36% of his passes in the preseason in New England. He had horrible mechanics that never got fixed, poor arm strength and zero accuracy. He didn’t make decisions quick enough, took lots of sacks, and fumbled a bunch. If he been immensely great and performing great in practice the ides that a team like the Jets wouldn’t have pivoted is a joke. He’s a good dude he just wasn’t an NFL level QB and that’s fine. People do him a disservice when they try to create false realities of how he actually performed

In some ways I think much of what people think of Tebow is a direct reflection of our present day society. To his naysayers he is an easy villain or target because of his faith in God, his All-American persona and never quit mentality. So many of these naysayers either lost their faith, never had it or never had the faith to believe in themselves and so when they see Tebow they feel scorn or immediate hostility. Tebow's compass needle always points in one direction whereas theirs spins like a top. In the end though, Tebow accomplished what few ever will. There can be no doubt that his faith has healed many a soul and that accomplishment alone far outweighs any NFL accolades he would ever want to have.

Where's Mark Sanchez's football life? To put Tim Tebow in the same group as Joe Montana, Emit Smith, Barry Sanders, etc is an insult. There are plenty of fantastic college players that were bad pros like Tim Tebow and they aren't getting a football life. Tebow is sadly one of the most tragic stories of a football player I have ever seen. People can say all they want he wasn't a good QB and he sucked at throwing, but that doesn't change the fact this guy was a pure football player, a leader and had the heart of a champion. The fact the NFL blackballed him because he wasn't a conventional QB and man of faith was completely despicable on their part.
He was never given a real chance to prove himself and it's just sad because I think he could have been a great football player if some team would have just believed in him and harnessed the talents he did posses. He was just a late bloomer that no one would be patient enough to work with. That and they wouldn't deal with the fact fans and the media loved him like crazy either. Well, that wasn't his fault. He didn't ask for that attention. They thrusted it upon him.
If there is one thing Tebow did during his NFL career that I didn't agree with is the fact he was determined to play QB and no other position. I mean, don't get me wrong, I would have loved to have seen him succeed and become a really good NFL caliber QB, but I just don't think he had all the skills to pull it off. He was too inconsistent at it. So, I think if he had swallowed his pride and played maybe FB or TE, I think he would have excelled at it. He's built like a lineman, so I think he would have been an elite FB/TE. Heck, I bet he could have been as good as Mike Alsott if he chose to put his heart into that kind of role.
But yea, that's just my take on this guy. If you don't agree, then fine, don't, but keep any rude comments anyone might have to yourself. I don't mind people giving another opinion about it if they want, but unless it's a mature one, don't bother because I won't even look at it.

I remember seeing a feature on Tebow where they were talking about him doing a QB bootcamp in the summer to alter his mechanics. Whatever happened after that? The clips in this vid showing Tebow looking so awkward in the pocket make it hard to see how he could become an NFL QB without a lot of well coached reps in the off season. Tebow looked pretty good and proved he was a winner in Denver. Too bad the NFL doesn't have the time to teach kids the basics they should have learned in college.

Tim Tebow is a prime example of why the NFL turns great prospects into busts. Tebow was 8 and 6 in the one season he played with Denver. Not Hall of Fame material but not bad either. What do they do? They trade him to the Jets who don't seem to know how to do anything right. What if the Broncos kept him as a backup to Manning and he had the chance to be an understudy to one of the masters of the position of quarterback. What if he then became starting QB after Manning's retirement? Maybe, just maybe, the Broncos would have done better than 9-6 in 2016 and 5-11 in 2017 and not be on a down hill slide. The reason why most NFL teams suck (other than the Patriots) is that they don't take the time to develop players and help them realize their potential. A player has one season (sometimes one game) lower than expectations and the unemployed. Seems pretty stupid to me. The unfortunate thing is that the NFL sees its players as property to be exploited rather than assets to be developed.

The young man displayed his Standard and it is an embarrassment that people mocked him in such a way. They all should be ashamed of that. All those so called fans you all just mocked him. His standard was the love he has for God ans trust as well, not being ashamed of his love and faith in God.

This is why I hope the reborn XFL and AAFL become successful on some level. Guys like Tebow and Flutie lose their chances to play even when they succeed. How in the world do you pull Flutie for Rob Johnson and when Tebow wins against the Steelers in the playoffs, he still loses his job? Should've work with his mechanics and learn to play with him because you don't get players like him often, guys that offer leadership, a will to win and one of the biggest hearts in the game. That's why the NFL is slowly becoming a joke, especially with the recent rules of roughing the passer.

Unfortunately, there is no hope for a football career anymore. Although his football career is over, its sports playing career is far from it. The Tebow story is STILL being written. But it is very probably that he will be in the MLB majors for 2019 and even realistic that he could play in the World Series! I do strongly believe that it is possible he could be MVP of the world Series. save this post.

Although it's irrelevant, I'm not religious. That said, I love Tim Tebow. He's the genuine article. A good man, a fun athlete to have watched, and a person committed thoroughly to his values. I respect that very much, and it's been a joy seeing him play ball in The Mets Organization.
