I love your art cards and would love to follow your recipe for success. What is daunting to me is the printing process...a workshop on that would be great! How to scan, size, cut the paper, etc. A lot to ask, I know. Maybe some day when you have a lull in your shows, you could give some advice how to get started...
Gaynor , I hope you will understand my metaphor as a massive compliment ?! You remind me of a lovely little bird ,hopping around with boundless energy , subject to subject , wearing your colorful scarves while gathering your art supplies ! I couldn't adore you more !
I too am attracted to the beautiful colours of magpies. As I was watching this video, one of these lovely birds popped up on the railing of my balcony and looked like it was watching your video with me. Made me laugh out loud!

It seems after all this time watching you I’m still anxiously waiting for Thursday to come and still greedily wish we had a whole hour. Love everything you do and wear. I love that ginger jar just the way it is. It is so unusual and has such a wonderful organic look. I wish you would leave it but know you will still make it wonderful no matter what you do to it.❤
Thanks to you and one of the commenters for drawing our attention to Mel McCudden. I’ve learned about several artists through you and your channel and have one to share with you - Anne Magee. You probably know about her already. I’m in love with the work of Mel and Anne. Cheers my dear.
Yay!!! Its Thursday!!! This ol lady in Louisiana is having so much fun because of your inspiration. Love all your work and permission to have fun again with my art.
What a lovely video! Your happy spirit is so uplifting here in the Cda. Rockies with winter knocking at the door. Summer birds gone south and winter birds in from the forests, looking for treats. Magpies, Bluejays, Woodpeckers, Chickadees this week enjoying peanuts in the shell. They land on the windowsills and stare us down. They are inspiring for painters and your beautiful cards do them proud. Anticipating where you may go with Ginger Jar and always happy to see all of your projects. Thank you Gaynor; super jumper and scarf muse of artists everywhere! Congrats to Lauren.
Love goldfinches too! It’s the state bird of New Jersey USA where I live. I have coneflowers in my garden in the summer and I love to see them perched on top! Thanks again for an uplifting video!😊
Congrats to Lauren. My mom was a writer. Walking through a book store long ago with a friend, she picked up a book and said " my son read this whole book ". I turned to her and said " my mom wrote it ".
Congratulations to Lauren you must be so proud of her achievement. Great video this week, love the jumper, birds and seeing how your cabin extension is coming on. I was so in love with your sweater that I could hardly hear what you were saying. It's great inside out! I love your artwork and, as always, it's a delight to watch your videos.

Hello Beverly, You always make me smile !! So glad you've got the book, you will love it XX I am still searching high and low for Lauren's ... it will be such a relief to find it !!! Have a wonderful week and enjoy filling your frames XXX
Good morning Gaynor, im a day late due to travels. Just having a wee relax and catching up. As always you bring us inspiration, thank you. I had a walk in Ashridge NT woodland yesterday. The Beech Trees are still incredible. Their shop still had some sketchbooks, so l couldnt resist, could l ?😅 cant wait to put some trees in it, with vibrant Autumn colour. Well done Lauren, you will be very proud of her......Alioban❤🐕
Hello Alioban, I will look up Ashridge NT ...sounds wonderful. I would be disappointed if you didn't buy a sketchbook !!! Thank you and yes I am so proud of Lauren, I love her to bits XXXX
Birds welcome 🙂 I left my spent Zinnias. Daughter’s writing honor 💕 We maybe inside out sisters. For me it’s thermal flannel. Pretty flannel to the inside😍 Art to hang either way 👍🏻Thank you Gaynor💚Cabins are coming along🐾🐾
Hi Gaynor another fabulous video. Love the birds I dug out my old book of birds 😊. Also love your jumper and scarves. I'm a scarf fanatic myself love love a scarf, I have many 😍 blessings from Ontario 🇨🇦 🙏 ❤️ 🙏 😍
Happy days it’s Thursday! And here you are again tugging at my heartstrings with the birds, bringing back such happy memories of my grandpa’s aviaries. I’ll have to do at least one finch/wren/canary/linnet as a keepsake. Your cabin is coming along, it’s going to look great. X
Hahaha. You made me laugh with your expanding list of charity shop favourites…….what a lovely gift you give me every Thursday…your videos are very uplifting. I am still stuck in Cambridge…now staying at my daughters and commuting in to Papworth daily, so no time for my own work ….so I am loving watching you instead!! As always……love from Dulcie.
Hello Gaynor. Congratulations to your daughter Lauren. You must be very proud. Love your birds, jumper and also the cabin alterations. Exciting. Have a lovely week. 💐
It struck me today that every time I watch your videos, I feel like a dear friend has invited me over to chat about how our week went. Thank you for that. I wish you the best week, and I look forward to our next chat.
I love your sketchbook birds!! Combining both of them onto a large canvas I think would look very cool! Also, your ginger jar, I can see an eagle with twigs around it 😊 it was said already, but I’ll say it as well. You make my Thursdays! I so look forward to watching you and watching your process. ❤
I guess because I mostly paint birds, all I can see on the large watercolour paper is the beginning of a lovely bird with branches and not a ginger jar!!!! I am sure no matter what you do it will be amazing, thank you for sharing these videos and your time with us!
Congratulations to Lauren! Well done. And everything you've shown here is lovely - real and painted birds included. I do love how that painting works upside down (rather like your inside-out sweater/jumper). And the sketchbook turned into cards - wunderbar. I love thrifting frames too, and sometimes I'll paint something just for the size frame I have. Have a lovely week!
Hello Lovely Gaynor! Massive congratulations to your Laura on that distinction 😘👍🏻I’m so inspired by your films, and you make my day jolly happy!☺️I just love your enthusiasm, loved your inside out jumper ( I do things like that too) and the little Goldfinch was just smashing. Managed to get a copy of the bird book I’m going to try some myself. Enjoy your cabin make-over it’s going to be great! Sending love 💕💕
Congratulations to your Lauren! You are beaming I’m sure. Seems like the whole family is talented creative people. I’m in the middle of a master bedroom and bathroom remodel and my house is a piled up disaster, so I can sympathize with you. I tell people I’m “glamming” in my own home! Ha-ha! It’s almost done so I hope to find my paints again and play again. TFS
yes I am always admiring your scarfs, I also can't resist them, though I have too many and every time I say this is the last one! my art is not coming the way I'd like it at the moment. I find watching your enthusiasm contagious, I practise everyday, but I am afraid don't like anything I am doing at the moment!
Hello Josephine, Thank you for your kind comment. It is horrible when you aren't happy with your art...I hope it's a phase that you can work through. Sending you breakthrough vibes XXXX
Love your weekly RUclips videos Gaynor. You are such an amazing artist and so lovely to listen to your videos! Thank you for sharing yourself! What is your pre papers that you paint on? Cheers!❤
Down here in Australia, your videos arrive when I wake Friday morning. Great start to my day. Yo me your ginger jar looks like it could become an owl?? Love your videos Gaynor, hope you are keeping well.
Delightful video. You do, do great bird drawings and the tree background with all the verticals for contrast is a theme I’m sure you will explore! Jumper is great inside-out and the pop of color w the scarves makes it so chic! We did see a glance at some of your resent paintings that I’d love to see more of; especially the figure with the red dot! Congrats to Lauren! She can write your book!❤
I thought your small framed landscape looked like three birds (crows)! It came out of the bag you had of small paintings. I have some wonderful news to share. The acrylic painting I submitted for our fall show came in Second Place! I had an Honorable Mention in our Spring Show. So I’m feeling very validated!! It’s lovely when your work is recognized. I’m happy 22:49 for all your progress on the cabins… It’s getting cold here in the Northeast of USA. I think we have similar climates. See you next week👀❤️
Hello from Essex! Love your videos, your art and your infectious enthusiasm! Was watching an old 80s film a couple of days ago with a very glamourous Joanna Lumly. Something about her reminded me of you and lo! Her character had a boutique in The Pantiles! The little birds btw I'm sure were bluetits - I had a 'bluetit period' and drew them a lot & they became quite familiar.
Hi Gaynor, I’m really very curious to see your printing process. What kind of printer do you use? Do you make your own square cards or do you buy the blank ones with envelopes? Thank you so much for inspiring me and all of us! Very looking forward to finding out about the printing process. So far I’ve been making my cards as one of a kind, and as you pointed out, it’s very time consuming. Thank you Gaynor!
Busy and exciting times for you Gaynor! I got a copy of the bird book, thanks for sharing it. Pretty please will you add some bird cards to the shop when you can 🙏 Birds on the brain, all I can see when I look at that ginger jar is a chubby bird sat on his bum! 😂 PS cabin looking great 👍 ❤
How funny....I am the same...those goldfinches keep appearing ! I had a trip to the library and went through their collection of bird books !! Have a wonderful week XXXX
Thank you yet again for another inspirational & enthusiastic week of yours. Funnily enough I feel like I’ve achieved something after watching you… but have nothing in my hands to show for it!!! I must be living precariously through you 😂 I’m very interested in your cards… thanks for demonstrating sketchbook to card. Just want to know tho, how do you print it? Onto card then cut to size or do you have the card all cut then print…& with which printer/ink that’s waterproof? Also congrats to Lauren. Talented family you are!
Hello Tess, Thank you for watching and leaving a lovely message. Re cards...I try a mixed approach ! I sometimes scan/photograph before going to the printer. I can very carefully put 250 gsm card through my printer ( a discontinued old Epsom model). The ink doesn't move once dry. I print on copy paper to work out the best placement and card size. I go through dry spells when things go wrong and I have to keep running maintenance programmes. A new printer is on the cards (no pun intended) ! XXX
Just wondering do you have more than one sketch book on the go or just finish one before starting another? I am thinking of having one for trees one for birds one for flowers and finally one for landscape. Not sure if I will but contemplating it, although nice to look at different ideas as you flip through. Not sure why I have been thinking about it. Now it is in writing not sure about it. Lol.😍 seemed good in my head at the time 🙃🇨🇦😍❤️
Hi Jeanette , Have you thought about splitting one sketchbook into 3 segments ? Allow more pages for what you love or just divide equally ? Just a thought to share !
Hello Carol, We have an old Epsom printer that is no longer available ! I am stuck...reading so many reviews on an update but unable to make a choice !!!
Hello Gaynor & Friends ---Birds of a feather flock together!!! I love watching birds out my front window. I have a small ornamental Lilac tree where I hang a bird feeder & suet cake. My tree is filled every day with small birds & squirrels & during Spring & Summer 2 chipmunks. This we we have also had a Coopers Hawk that visits me also. He spent 25 min sitting on my porch rail & birdbath. He's beautiful. In Your Ginger jar painting I saw the front looking body of a Coopers Hawk. A great book on sketching birds is THE BACKYARD BIRD CHRONICLES by author Amy Tan. You would Love it. She wrote The Joy Luck Club & The Bonesetters Daughter. I was able to purchase a signed copy while visiting my son. Your cabin is really being transformed.
Hello Anita... how do you get anything done ? How amazing....I'd be watching all day !!! I don't know a Coopers Hawk so I will look him up and thank you for the book suggestion...I think I've read the Bonesetters Daughter, so I will look for the Backyard Bird Chronicles...thank you so much XXXX
Hello Gaynor I would be interested in the cards being in the webshop and I am also part of your Fan Club! I find your youtube videos inspiring and have been developing my painting endeavours.
Your videos are simple amaizing I wait patiently you can't imagine. The birds are beautiful and everything today including your inside out jumper with coral scarf!🫶
Weird u bought up printing from sketchbook. Just printed paintings from old sketchbooks for the walls. Is wonderful to have my faves out in the open for consideration!
I thought the 'jar' you had on the easel was a big bird. I got distracted from the point you were talking about birds. There are birds who are classified as jars; nightjar for example. Doesn't it look like a bird?
Well.... better late than never, Geoffrey Chaucer... The Canterbury Tales.😅 Next, put prints on coffee/tea cups? T-shirts, U have arrived, might as well capitalize on the efforts of Ur creations... it's so American to become a millionaire on great works 😊 even if ur not from USA... fly ur flag and B thankful for the opportunity to share with the world, let that sink in, as Elon Musk would say. Hope Craig brings U to the USA for one of ur wild vacas. 😂. Next series? Clothing designs? Make some $$$'s girl. Ann, Florida fan... congrats to ur daughter, with parents like y'all, how could she miss😊
Hi Gaynor ! Yes, get your work out there!🦉 "The book of the bird, birds in art" by Angus Hyland & Kendra Wilson at Laurence King publishing in 2016, is great too. And "les oiseaux du jardin et du balcon" by Guilhem Lesaffre, édition Rustica with a bird CD of 1h ! I like your upside down painting and your inside out jumper! (by OK Go!) Creativity and fun as always coming out of chaos ! "A painting is never finished, it simply stops in interesting places!" I love the italian way you share content. So lively! Ciao bella! Congratulations to Lauren for her master degree in creative writing! Thank you for all of your vidéos. Have a great week! 🔴🍊🫖🟠🟡🍋🟢🍋🟩🔵🫐🟣
Book addition! Collins pocket guide "birds of Britain & Europe with North Africa and the Middle East" by Hermann Heinzel, Richard Fitter and John Parslow (1995) in french edition by Delachaux et Nestlé (1996) With more than 3000 beautiful colour illustrations. Your bird goldfinch "Carduelis carduelis", chardonneret élégant, lives all over in Europe so he sings in french and english too!
I love your art cards and would love to follow your recipe for success. What is daunting to me is the printing process...a workshop on that would be great!
@ great idea ❤️😍
I have a few sketchbooks ...... concertina, travel and the everyday ! I like Jeanette's idea - let me know how you get on !! XX
What sort of printer do you have? Love to see your cards
Is your bird book on the windowsill under the flowers?
I've just checked...and no !!! It must be hiding in plain sight...somewhere !!! XX
Hello Gaynor I would be interested in the cards being in the webshop and I am also part of your Fan Club! I find your youtube videos inspiring and have been developing my painting endeavours.
So so kind, thank you Jackie XXX
Gaynor, you can just turn the cuff up on your new jumper, sometimes just to be different.
XX
Your videos are simple amaizing I wait patiently you can't imagine. The birds are beautiful and everything today including your inside out jumper with coral scarf!🫶
So So kind Deborah, love and a big hug XXX
Weird u bought up printing from sketchbook. Just printed paintings from old sketchbooks for the walls. Is wonderful to have my faves out in the open for consideration!
I thought the 'jar' you had on the easel was a big bird. I got distracted from the point you were talking about birds. There are birds who are classified as jars; nightjar for example. Doesn't it look like a bird?
Well.... better late than never, Geoffrey Chaucer... The Canterbury Tales.😅
Next, put prints on coffee/tea cups? T-shirts, U have arrived, might as well capitalize on the efforts of Ur creations... it's so American to become a millionaire on great works 😊 even if ur not from USA... fly ur flag and B thankful for the opportunity to share with the world, let that sink in, as Elon Musk would say. Hope Craig brings U to the USA for one of ur wild vacas. 😂. Next series? Clothing designs? Make some $$$'s girl. XX
Hi Gaynor ! Yes, get your work out there!🦉
"The book of the bird, birds in art" by Angus Hyland & Kendra Wilson at Laurence King publishing in 2016, is great too. And "les oiseaux du jardin et du balcon" by Guilhem Lesaffre, édition Rustica with a bird CD of 1h !
I like your upside down painting and your inside out jumper! (by OK Go!) Creativity and fun as always coming out of chaos ! "A painting is never finished, it simply stops in interesting places!"
I love the italian way you share content. So lively! Ciao bella!
Congratulations to Lauren for her master degree in creative writing!
Thank you for all of your vidéos.
Have a great week!
