This recipe is much better than any of the others out there! Thank You! Popular Question Unanswered: Can you use Canna Coconut Oil in place of butter? YES, IT WORKS JUST FINE. FLAVOR SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT THOUGH.
Some things that I have found while making this recipe... 3 Tablespoons of unflavored gelatin is a little light to create a good initial gelatin to mix in. I personally used 4 tablespoons to get a good apple sauce for 2 cups of water. Also, if you use a sauce bottle for squeezing out the mixture, be sure to use twist tops. the ones that kind of snap on will leak and/or explode in your face. Even though she adds extra Gaum Gum to the recipe in the video, it should be stated that you most definitely will need some extra gum in order to get a good emulsion going.

  • @dudemorris7769

Love your channel. I’ve been using RSO only and you don’t need the canna butter for the gummies. I use 1gram RSO 84.4% thc, & warm it for 20 minutes in 240* Fahrenheit oven, cool down, then add 1/4 tsp liquid lecithin to mix it. It immediately combines and is the emulsifier for the batch. I then take my mixture off the stove, stir in the RSO/lecithin mixture, stir for 3 minutes, & then add 1/2tsp mold inhibitor, stir, and pour. I don’t use the syrup either as the citric acid, 1/4 tsp, keeps the sugar from crystallizing back together.

Hi. I was watching one of your previous videos of gummy candies and I heard u mention the issue of the candy sticking to the silicone moulds. I use a super easy trick that totally prevents that. Before I get started on making my candy I use a small cosmetic brush and very lightly oil the moulds w olive oil ( that's just my preference) and I never have a problem. I also do not refrigerate my gummy candy. I let them sit in the moulds for 4-5 hours and they come out perfect every time. Js ( : Also I add a mold inhibitor (potassium sorbate 1.5-2 ml) so my gummies have a shelf life of 6 months. But again, that's just my preference.

I'm new here and newly subscribed. This information is excellent and presented is such a warm, inspiring way. I love it :) I'm new to edibles but this is my go-to guru that I trust.
I love that a better method was discovered for the guar gum- and it was mentioned! I used the new suggestions and they worked perfectly. I also had to add a bit extra guar. Taking the mixture off the heat when mixing seemed to make it work easier. I used the guar gum because of the (reported) taste issue with lecithin.
For me, it's important to make a consistent mixture, so evaporation is a consideration while cooking. I've used a lid on and off to help with that. Also
The lecithin made a more homogeneous mixture more easily, but the guar gum made a better tasting gummie- just my newbie opinion :)
I admire the work that has gone into helping us make our own edibles, and the quality of the content. Thank You Diamond Delight Edibles :)

If you want this recipe written there it is: (Note I halved every measurement and added meter measurements too)
    Ingredients:
    1 Jello box (3oz or 85g)
1 tbs/cs unflavored gelatin or agar agar
120ml or 1/2 cup water half frozen to mix with gelatin, half normal in the pot)
15ml or 1/16 cup corn syrup
    15ml or 1/16 cannabutter
    1/4 ts guar gum
1/8 ts citric acid (one ts/cc = 5g) if you don't have it you can use lemon juice: (4.5 ts juice for 1 ts of acid) = half ts of lemon juice
    moulds
bottles/syringes/drops for pouring the mixture into the mould
    silicone/wooden whip (no metal whip)
optional: few drops of articial flavour/color
optional: spray bottle and 94° alcohol or everclear (to spray on the gummies to help create a barrier on the gummies to keep them chewier for longer and prevents them from sticking together)
    Instructions:
    - Put 1/4 cup or 60ml of water in the fridge so it's very cold. Put your moulds in the freezer before starting.
    - Sprinkle the gelatin over the very cold water (1/4 cup or 60ml), stir it into the water, make sure there's no lumps and let it bloom by putting it back in the fridge (should be applesauce-like texture)
    - Put the jello, the syrup and other half of water (1/4 cup or 60ml) in a pot on low heat. If you start to see any white streaking take it off the heat. Stir until the sugar and everything is dissolved (5-10 min)
    - Turn off heat, put the citric acid and the gelatin in. Stir until gelatin is melted and everything has a uniform texture.
    - Add the melted cannabutter and the guar gum (you can use a strainer to evenly distribute the guar gum onto the butter so it doesn't clump. Let it sit for a minute
    - Whisk (don't use a metal whisk ever) until you don't see any oil slicks, if you still see oil slicks after a whisking again, try adding a little more guar gum (1/16 ts) that you have mixed with the little remains of cannabutter in its bowl.
    - Now you can add the flavoring and food coloring you want, (don't use too much coloring, only ~2 drops no more)
    - If you want to make sure the candy will set, put a little bit of the mixture in a bowl in the fridge and see if it sets after about 5 minutes, if it still sticks to your finger try adding about 1/4 tbs of gelatin with 1.5 tbs of cold water.
    - Let it rest for a couple minutes to let the air bubbles come up, you can try and scoop the white layer on top with the strainer.
    - Then pour your mixture into the bottles/syringes, fill up your moulds (not all the way to the top just below it)
    - Once your gummies have set, get them out of their mould and put them on parchment paper, rest for about 12h on each side.
    - Optional: Spray the gummies with your alcohol or everclear and mix them a bit so it applies on every gummy.
    - Optional: To coat them in sugar or sour sugar, hold the gummies over some steam to make them a bit gooey, then dump them into sugar and citric acid (a cup of sugar to a quarter ts of citric acid or 1 ts of lemon juice).

@@kj908studio Hey. Yes you can half it. Adding juice is ok - juice usually has sugar in it, so more sugar than just water. What leads to mold is the water activity of the gummy. So adding as much juice as water shouldn't affect that. If the water is increased then they are more likely to mold.

If it's still sticks to your finger, add an additional 1/2 tbls. of unflavored gelatin bloomed in 3 tbls of cold water. Add to your syrup and your should be good to cast them.

      Ingredients:
      2 - 3oz or 85g Jello - Any flaovr
      2 tbls unflavored gelatin
      1 cup water divided
1/4 cup light corn syrup (substitute option: invert sugar, glucose syrup, honey, agave)
      1/4 cup cannabutter
      1/2 tsp guar gum
      1/4 tsp citric acid
      artifical flavor and color (optional)
Alcool or Everclear alcohol 190 proof (optional)
      Instructions:
Step 1. Bloom Gelatin. sprinkle 2 tbs of gelatin over 1/2 cup of COLD water. Stir it in - no lumps. look for applesauce texture. if its not the right texture add a little more gelatin. place in fridge for later. Also now is a good time to put those Gummy Molds in the freezer!
Step 2. add flavored gelatin to a medium saucepan, combine light corn syrup and add remaining 1/2 cup water. Turn heat on LOW. if you see any white streaking take off heat immediately. Stir until sugar is dissolved (approx 10 mins)
Step 3. get unflavored gelatin from fridge. add citric acid into Saucepan mixture. Slice up the unflavored gelatin before adding it to the saucepan. let it sit for a moment then GENTLY stir. Once its melted and texture looks even add canna butter then sift in guar gum or lecithin directly over the butter you just added trying not to get it on the gelatin mixture on the sides (for science). Allow to sit for 1 minute.
Step 4. whisk it gently incorporating as little air as possible. If you see an oil sheen on the top you must add in more guar gum/lecithin by adding an 1/8 tsp into a small amount of leftover cannaoil/butter in a small bowl. Combine the mixture then add that into the saucepan. Whisk to combine.
Step 5. Here you can separate it for doing 2 colors/flavors. Otherwise keep the mixture in one pan. Add white food coloring for a solid or none for a clear look. Add your food coloring and let it sit. Sift off the foam that rose to the top. Put your mixture into whatever container you are using to distribute them into your molds.
Step 6. Get molds out the freezer. Get the air bubbles to rise to the top of your applicator of choice by lightly tapping them upside down with your finger over the opening. Fill molds almost to the top of the molds, they will harden if over filled. Set them in fridge
Step 7. get them out of the molds and allow to dry at room temp on parchment paper for 12 hrs. flip allow to dry for another 12. Can take up to 48 hrs. Keep in a dry environment.
Step 8. Once fully dried take everclear and put it in a small spray bottle. Generously spray them and mix evenly. You can do this step with Green Dragon tincture if desired. Allow to evaporate (approx 20 mins)
Step 9. If sugar casting keep reading, otherwise you're done!
place candies on a fine drying rack and hold over a pot of boiling water allowing the steam to warm them up.
Step 10. dump into a bowl of sugar mix (1 cup sugar and 1/4 tsp citric acid). Mix them up, shake off excess, then place back onto a sheet of parchment. They should be fully dried in 20 minutes.

Ok, I pulled it off but I did see oil separation. I did something stupid. I put canna oil in and sprinkled in Guar Gum but then I mixed it before waiting one minute. You said to sprinkle it and wait one minute. So I stirred and no oil slicks. I poured into bottle to fill molds but it was so hot liquid shot out several times. I looked and saw a oil slick at the top of the bottle. I let it cool and got the air pocket correctly in the bottle and it worked great but!!!! The oil separated a little in the bottle and I think I didn’t stir long enough but I was afraid of air bubbles. Freezing molds is perfect!! My 4th mold wasn’t frozen because I didn’t think I needed it. So I sprayed coconut oil in that one so they wouldn’t stick and it turned out bad. I sprayed so much oil on the molds that it filled the molds with a lot of coconut oil. Also the very bottom of the bottle had more separated oil.
Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you for your help. 😊

Anyway I turned the heat back on to warm the gelatin back up so it could pour properly and no issues. Im not pro but I have been studying and working with gelatin for some time and its pretty basic, cold hardens, heat will liquify and you can reheat gelatin to achieve that affect if needed without damaging it.
