I'm software engineering graduated. Few month ago, I started work in EY as an IT audit intern. Now, I am trying to move in the company non-audit financial departmants.I live and work in Turkey. The economy is very bad and I think the conditions will remain stable for 3-4 years, at best. That's why I'm looking for a job abroad.
Which finance department do you think I should switch to? M&A, corp. finance, valuation or another?
My only criteria is to find a job easily and for the work to be international.
I don't care about work life balance, I'm ready to work hard.

Hi there. Given your background in IT audit and software engineering, transitioning into a finance department with an international focus is a great idea. Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and corporate finance are excellent choices, as they tend to offer global opportunities and demand strong analytical skills. Valuation could also be a good fit since it often overlaps with technical expertise. Given your readiness to work hard and aim for international roles, M&A might provide the most diverse opportunities abroad. Additionally, investing time in certifications could further enhance your profile and appeal to global employers. Let us know if you have more questions. Good luck!

Well explained!!!!!! especially when u said each process requires time and persistence ; And each efforts brings you a step closer to your goal; Personally i am a type of person who focus more on result wants to get things done quickly rather than having faith and working hard & smart.

if you are 40 yr. old and find the way to change job or working field, you can not uplay for part time jobs or law paid jobs, just to get junior level position. Because you constantly will looking how to earn more instead of focusing at your job. An you have bills, family that should be suported financialy. It is not option to work for someone for free anymore.

Don’t worry, it’s completely normal to feel confused after a setback like this! We’d suggest balancing both paths. You can prepare for the next CFA L1 exam while also searching for entry-level finance jobs in the meantime. Gaining real-world experience, even in a junior role, will help you build practical skills and enhance your resume. And when you attempt the CFA again, you’ll bring more context and experience to your studies. Stay focused, take it step by step-you’ve got this! There's a video on our channel on how to prepare for the CFA Level 1 Exam effectively + some planning resources ---> ruclips.net/video/CKoB6ImUdcM/видео.html
