How can I build connections or places where I can apply?
I'd start off by reaching out to alumni for connections, and look on websites of large banks for positions open

Great video. So why would i put the Financial Edge as experience on CV instead of education?
Thanks! Not instead of education, it's just an additional item
@@angelasunx3 so is there any specific reason financial edge should be written as professional experience and not as education? Since its a course
Hi Angela, It seems that the position, investment banking analyst, only provides interviews for undergrad or MBA candidates. Is there any possible that the investment banks also recruit graduates as IB analysts?
Yes, investment banks also recruit graduates as well instead of just undergrad / MBA. It's typically less of a formal recruiting process for those.
@@angelasunx3 Thank you for reply! I am going to be a graduate majoring in accounting in a business school. I heard that IB doesn't prefer grads, but your answer solved my doubt. Thank you so much! But I still have one more question. If I can't locate a job as an analyst after graduation, is there any related positions for an accounting student as stepping stones to IB analyst?
hi angela, do you think it’s possible to get into investment banking with a nursing degree ?
I would reccomend you try getting into a Pharmaceutical Company/Hospital Chain , it's good bucks there too and you will have a lot more chances.
Only if you have additional relevant experience to finance of some sort, or did an MBA - otherwise would be difficult with no relevant experience at all
Do I need a degree can I just take the course and get into incremented banking ?
Degree
Hi Angela, I’m an incoming MBA candidate looking to do join IB , I have a year experience at a startup and a year experience at a Fortune 500 company, so I don’t have IB experience , should I be looking at investment analyst roles instead of associate or are analyst roles exclusively for undergraduates
After MBA you should be looking at associate programs. Analyst programs are typically for those pre MBA
What if I majored in accounting and have 3.67 GPA? Will I have a good chance?
Absolutely
hi i have BSc in statistics and master degree in MBA can i be investment banker? on what position ? 10Q
That sounds relevant!!
Hi Angela, I am a MBA student with a specialisation in finance and risk management and I am currently done with my first year in Belgium. This is a four year program and I was wondering if it would be good for me to do the financial edge course already to get ahead or do you think I should wait? Loved the video by the way!
Doesn't hurt to get now rather than later since the classes don't expire. Could be good to have earlier even if you're just skimming through the materials
@@angelasunx3 hey if I already did the course do I still need to go to college I kinda can't afford it 🙃
Thanks for showing us the course :D
Thanks for watching :)
Thank you so much.very informative.
Thank you for watching!
Hi, If i did CFA and certain other short term IB courses with a normal undergraduate degree, pertaining all the necessary skills and Related internships, will I be able to get into Investment banking in one of the bulge brackets? (Is MBA from Top schools necessary?)
It depends on if you had any relevant experience / internships prior - MBA is not needed
@@angelasunx3 Thanks!
wow, i have never heard of financial edge...thanks!
No problem!
Hi Angela,
Currently I have 3.5 years of experience in IB industry. So, can I get chance to opportunity to work in outside India in same IB. If it is can you please suggest me some ways to grab the opportunities.
Hi Shwetha! Yep I've seen people move from India to NYC offices in IB
Are your colleagues from different background other than finance and maths or engg ?
Yes!
Great Video! I am studying business informatics - how are my chances in investment banking?
It isn't directly related, but definitely some overlaps and interesting aspects you can bring up
Thx for ur video, always enjoy a lot watching it! Btw I just got an interview from BB IB, is there any tips to stand out from others?
Congrats! Prepare well your why this particular bulge bracket, and why IB answers. Try doing mock interviews as practice, be yourself & be energetic! Best of luck.
Hey does cfa help us to inter there?
It's definitely a solid credential for IB
Angela have u thinking about making a TikTok channel for IB contents? Another great vid, u are awesome!
I've thought about it! haha not sure if it's for me though but perhaps one day...
Hi Angela do you think I could be able to get accepted for an internship in investments if I study for CFA and have a referral from a crowdfunding platform I worked for?
Sounds like you're in a good position as long as the interview process goes smoothly! Good luck
Nice video! I was wondering how did this work exactly, since the website doesn’t give much information on regards to each course. I would be interested in the Financial Edge course since I am interested in moving my career over to Finance, and I would like to know how this course applies to my knowledge since I am an engineer and have no prior knowledge in Finance, and how could I sign myself up to it? Please, any information you have would be great for me. I have followed your channel for a while and I find your videos filled to the brim with useful information and they always leave me wanting to know more! If there is any way in which we could talk more about this please let me know, otherwise if you could just answer my comment I would really appreciate it.
Thanks! You can access online courses here: www.fe.training/store/category/online-courses/ where you'll find the course called "The Investment Banker" and you can sign up for it there. My video goes over briefly what's included in it, but essentially it involves videos, excel practice sheets and tests for accounting, valuation, modeling (which is the foundation of what people do in investment banking and will prepare you well for interviews/the job). To get 25% off the pack, you can use my code "ANGELA25." Let me know if you have any questions!
Hey, can someone with accounting degree like cpa and ACCA and audit experience get into investment bank?
They can, but it can be difficult if their only prior experience is in accounting
@@angelasunx3 didn’t you just spend a whole video explaining how people get into the industry with no experience? How are you going to tell them it’s difficult with an accounting degree. Mate it’s easy- go do an internship for a few months with your accounting skills you are half way there
@@bluelit4830 You don't need it for an internship but it's difficult to go in for full time if your prior work experience is only in accounting. That's why you need the other things I mentioned in the video
Thanks for all of your hard work for us😊😊
Thanks for watching Marshall :)
Heard great things about financial edge from friends. Thanks for sharing this - will be using your promo code for the discount!
They're awesome! Hope you find it helpful :)
Would that course be a gateway to enter into investment banking job?
It'd equip you with all of the technical knowledge you'd need to know for interviews / to start the job
@@angelasunx3 I am from India and what are the probably chances of mine to get into it. Also I want to start my own start up related to finance what all could be that ? Please tell me all the queries if you can!
@@prathamrana8433 If you mean doing investment banking in the US, some ways to do so would be 1) do ib in India and transfer over or 2) do university/mba in the US
@@angelasunx3 In India there's not much scope as compared to US or any other International country, and for taking MBA it'll be too long cause I am 18 year old now doing Undergrad . So how can I make myself to step into the industry ?

I’m in high school and i’ve wanted to be a lawyer (especially corporate law) but you inspire me to work in investment banking 👏🏾
You should definitely still continue to explore both options :)
Does this apply to getting jobs in India too?
I'd imagine so, but not as familiar with IB recruiting in IB
Hey angela, I’m a second year student who’s currently studying politics and IR at the university of kent and wanted to get into IB, should I acquire a masters in finance at a target school in the UK or go to a target school in the US? Or maybe even do an MBA instead of a masters in finance? Eitherways I think I have to do a masters because my degree doesn’t have much quantitative qualifications. What are your thoughts? I’m also planning on doing investment banking courses online from platforms such as financial edge to strengthen my CV in hopes I get an internship in the year that I do my masters in. Your advice will be much appreciated :)
MBA is usually a typical path, so I'd recommend that if possible. :) And self teaching / learning through online platforms is always helpful too (like Financial Edge)
Its giving conflict of interest
Hi Angela! With regards to the Financial Edge Program, may I ask how/why they reached out to you to promote their program? Is it because you went through it in your professional training or another reason? Just a little cautious with regards to paid promotions haha especially since it’s rather expensive for me! Appreciate your genuine personality and keep up the great work!
Yes, I'd known of them prior to them reaching out to me since they train IB analysts, so the partnership worked out perfectly since I could vouch for their credentials. I've had companies reach out to me that I choose not to partner with because I don't know much about them. I'd recommend taking a look at some of their free courses on the website, see how you like those, and then decide. Let me know if you have questions on anything. I think it's worthwhile if you're willing to put in the work and go through the entire module to learn - depends what you're prepping for. Best of luck!
@@angelasunx3 Hi, thanks for the reply! Yup I'm planning on trying our their free courses before deciding to purchase the whole bundle. Thanks for being so genuine with the products you promote! This channel is a real gem :)

Im currently 15 and in secondary school in the UK (high school). Do the grades that I get right now matter and will it affect the chances of me getting into IB?
They will not. They'll only affect which college you go to, but not any future jobs.
I’m 17 also living in the UK and GCSEs matter indirectly. Unis look at gcses when applying , beyond that your gcses won’t matter.
Hi Angela, I did my studies in Hospitality with 8 years commercial banking experience working as a Senior Business Relationship Manager. I am 36 now. Do you think it is possible for me to get in Investment Banking? If so is there anywhere I can get professional guidance for it?
It's possible, but you'll likely need to either get into a stepping stone job that's slightly more related and uses similar technical skills, or get an MBA and go in then as an associate
You are a mentor ❤️
What are the best strategies to protect my portfolio? I've heard that a downturn will devastate the financial market, so I'm concerned about my $200k stock portfolio.
Mind if I ask you to recommend this particular coach you using their service? Seems you've figured it all out.
I appreciate it. After searching her name online and reviewing her credentials, I'm quite impressed. I've contacted her as I could use all the help I can get. A call has been scheduled.
My question is this, and it’s probably very unlikely: I am switching careers and I’m almost 40. How realistic is it I could get into investment banking at a top company?
It will be difficult to get in from a junior level, and to get in from a senior level you'll have to have some sort of relevant experience and the ability to pull in clients since more senior roles are all about client relationships.
Hi Angela, would you be able to refer me?
Technically!
