- I knew that eventually I'd have to get my band on the show... And with our first concert in almost two years about to happen, now is as good a time as ever. I've spent the last decade in The Hula Girls, playing hawaiian, exotica, surf, and rockabilly with these guys. It was fun to have them on to talk about our career, playing music together.

'It's not an after-school special smell it!'
Actually laughed out loud.
😂
My mom had a lifelong relationship with and was once engaged to marry Leith Anderson, whose father Robert Alexander Anderson wrote Lovely Hula Hands in 1939. Lieth's mom was Margaret Leith Center Anderson, whose brother George'Dad' Center founded the legendary Outrigger Canoe Club at Waikiki, and who was Duke Kahanamoku's Olympic swimming coach. Part of my family's connection to the heart of old Hawaii (as well as being part of the founding of the original Hollywood Don The Beachcomber). It's A Classic Tune. Mahalo Nui Loa
Love the band war stories. Great stuff! Couldn't make Long Beach unfortunately.
Gary is a legend! That Vanduras album still gives me chills
Absolutely
Another great episode! Thanks for all the entertainment. Man I wish I could go to your show at the breezeway. But I am up in the Sierra foothills near Tahoe. A little far for a commute. But if you come up to the bay area or Tahoe again please keep me posted!
Another great show! Wish I could go to your event, but I got a party going on at the Toltec Tiki Room in El Paso TX to attend. If you’re ever in the area you should stop by and check it out!
You guys look energized! Bummer we missed the show(couldn’t ditch my 8yr old on his birthday), but we’ll keep an eye out for the next gig!
The Blue Hawaiians! That's too cool. I found one of their CDs in the late 90s and used to play "Cheat" in my sets.
Good luck on your first post COVID gig. It must be awesome drinking in a Tiki bar listening to you guys. Can’t wait to experience some US Tiki bars next year!
Very cool to meet your band mates! Great episode!!!
Great music guys...
Great to get to know two of your band mates. Cool dudes!!! Very funny guys. Nice little jam session in the end.
After a giant 4oz cocktail too!! 😵💫
I love that melody in the ending song!
Yay. Looking forward to seeing you guys tomorrow night.
I can't wait!
You guy go well together! Nice job.
Great funy show. You can tell when that barrel o rum starts kicking in!
love the untouchables!
Soo bummmmmed I missed Saturday's show in LB. Hope to see you guys live again. last time I saw you guys was at Cliftons.
One of my favorite episodes!! 👏👏👏❤️✌️😎
Fun episode!
cool jamm'in afterwards
“You don’t want to dress up like something a girl gets tattooed on her ankle.” Words to live by! 🐬🤣
😂🤷🏻♂️
Can’t wait for the curse of the tiki at the breezeway! Great show Spike!
Thanks for buying a ticket!
My wife and I are so excited to celebrate with you!
The message is de-evolution.
Just made this drink and drank it. Quite nice, I'd say. You really don't need more than a few of these in one evening. Btw, love your bandmates. Very different kind of personalities but both very entertaining in their way. I loved the introduction of the soda water to the other ingredients :-D
Live from Spike's House! I can see it in your future!!
Great episode, as always! Loved you guys playing at the end!
Great episode! Awesome to see the whole band together 😊🤙🏼
Meeting friends for dinner tonight. We will catch the replay!
You’re totally ballistic
You are never allowed to shave off that beard, Spike.
👌
Great episode spike!! By the way - your fear of soda water is unfounded. A mere 1.5oz of it in 6oz of juices will not make it explode.
I shook the hell out of a navy grog the other day and it doesn’t explode.
Haha... ahhh... good to know
Oh! I HAVE also heard that maybe shaking reduces the fizziness??
@@BreezewayCocktailHour that’s likely…but wouldn’t the recipes tell you not to shake the soda if they didn’t want it all shaken together in the tin?
Love this episode, man!
Thanks, dude! It was fun hanging out with my guys on the show!
"You can work at a malt shoppe."
-- Tremendous line.
😂 thank you
Oh Man, all those shows at Don's!
"Corks good"!!
Hahahahahaha... very serious wisdom, Gary.
$110?? You should charge way way more. That’s going to be awesome!!
Just watched a few hula girl videos. We have something in common. We both prefer gretches.
People lament about classic tiki bars dying out. And that's a real thing.
What about guys like Gary? What they can do? What they've seen?
When they're gone, that'll be just as much a tragedy.
When I think of a drummer,. its always a bald man with facial hair.
