I'm I am of the opinion that if you don't need to buy a truck you shouldn't buy one now given today's market. And based on how badly the Ford Motor Company treated you and your wife on this whole Bronco mess I would not buy a Ford product for a while. If it was me and I had to buy a new truck it would be a Tacoma double cab four-wheel drive with a trailer package.
It was more the GM at the dealership than Ford themselves, but I hear what you are saying. I had a ‘17 Tacoma TRD off road and really liked driving it but it got poor fuel economy too and had a small tank but I haven’t ruled it out as an option.
Buy the current Tundra. The future is pretty weird right now. You have the stang, new Bronco and a truck that's holding its value. The loan should be affordable. Btw I ordered a hybrid maverick. 40 mpg for 28k.
@@PIPSBURGHVIEWS I get that. Check out a Maverick. Stupid little you can equip well for $28k and get 40 mpg. I ordered it at a dealer with lifetime warranty and oil changes.
yeah i would go with the 2.7 ecoboost! my friend has a 2016 ford f150 2.7 and he got 27mpg at 70mph on the highway which is pretty darn good for a full size pick up~ or go with a ford ranger! nice trucks and they tow up to 7200lbs,
The Ram has won truck of the year the last few years and the higher trim level interiors are the best but for some reason they don’t hold there value like Ford or Toyota.
Ford Maverick - everyone’s gonna have one eventually , I might get one myself. Would love to see some content especially from someone who knows Ford products in and out.
Try the Jeep Gladiator. If you don’t like that keep the Tundra you can always trade it in later.. I heard you said about small trucks look at all of them Merry Christmas
@@TheSlugger76 the $4000 more for the diesel wouldn’t pay for it self in fuel savings for a bout 4 years, so I don’t think it would be worth it for me.
I have the same exact truck. I’m planning on hanging on to mine when my lease is up. I like the truck a lot. With the prices going way up on the new ones I think it’s the right move for me. You’re right about the gas mileage though. Fortunately, I don’t drive a ton of miles.
It is a good truck! I leased it with the expectation of getting rid of it after one year to get the 2022. I did not anticipate the price hike. Now, I am torn. I have agreed to sell it to Driveway this Friday for $5,000 more than I paid for it. That would mean I drove it for a year for free and made $5,000 but I can't seem to find anything to replace it with in the $44k range.
Hey PiPs, steer clear of the F "EcoBoost" powered models. Absolute Crap regardless of a few more MPG. The "Lightning" EV will be spectacular but as you stated, since you dragged your feet on securing one you're looking most likely at a 2022 delivery. If possible, go with the RIVIAN as this truck (ie; see Doug DeMuro) is extremely versatile and super impressive. Either way, good luck and Merry Christmas Yo ! 🔜 🎅 🌲
Thanks John, I have owned a few Ecoboosts and haven't had any issues. I looked at ordering a Rivian but they are out of my price range. Merry Christmas!
@@PIPSBURGHVIEWS tundras for sure, but I think rams and gmc are the only ones not holding value as well. The right trim and optioned silverado does pretty well. Plus the gas savings, and room for gear better than a wrangler.
Ah nice, I picked up a 99 f150 bout 6 months back for the home remodeling to save on the new suv. Now I enjoy having a truck and have kicked idea around of picking up a truck. Prices are just so high right now though.
You’ll absolutely love the PowerBoost in the F-150 if you can stretch your lease payment a little!! We purchased one and I like and enjoy just as much as our Raptor!!
Lots of good choices you mentioned, but with f150 v6 ecoboost sounds good with gas mileage. You would be better off with that, even if you stay on top of cleaning the intake valves with dry ice or sand blaster. It'll last you quite long time of taken well of. Check out the F150 Tremor it comes in 3 trims and has raptor like goodies but can tow more than a raptor. I sold a very nice base model recently 👍🏽👍🏽

RAM TRX!!!!!!!
TRX is awesome but it costs twice as much as everything I am looking at and gets terrible MPG.

Just got a jeep renegade three days before Christmas and we love it.
Congrats!

22 tundra
2022 F150 Tremor. . . . Forget the Toyota TURD

Merry Christmas! That was the original plan, hopefully I can make it happen.
I guess the V8 version of the Wrangler is out of the question?
