I moved my in a house with a bunch of musicians and in the jam room was a drum set. I had to jump on it! My hands was itching to grab the sticks and I just let loose it was amazing! Drums and bass gives that power and energy to a song! What an adrenaline rush! Unfortunately The drummer moved out and I learned a bit! Any singer can’t play a instrument should learn. My first instrument is the guitar now is what god gave me, m voice and also learning piano for my voice too! Great video!
Ken also played drums on a song called ‘The Hunger’ which was on Don Dokken’s solo album from 1990 ‘Up From The Ashes.’ And Mikkey Dee plays drums on the rest of the album. Very underrated hard rock album, it’s phenomenal! John Norum & Billy White are on guitars as well 👊🏽

I have a few albums that he played on: IMPELLITTERI GRIN AND BEAR IT (1992), VICTIM OF THE SYSTEM (1993), ANSWER TO THE MASTER (1994), SCREAMING SYMPHONY (1996), FUEL FOR THE FIRE (1997), and EYE OF THE HURRICANE (1998) and KEN TAMPLIN AN AXE TO GRIND (1990). These are some of my favorite albums in my collection. He was a member of the Christian oriented super group MAGDALLAN which changed the name to MAGDALEN. KEN TAMPLIN (solo, JOSHUA, SHOUT) started the group with LANNY CORDORLA. KEN TAMPIN and LANNY CORDORLA wrote BIG BANG in 1990 but it wasn't released until early 1992 and KEN MARY played drums on that. I think JOHN STAMOS played percussion on BIG BANG as well. I'll need to check the liner notes. KEN TAMPLIN and LANNY parted ways due to differences and KEN TAMPLIN focused on his solo albums. LANNY CORDORLA became a born again Christian through KEN TAMPLIN. LANNY continued with a solo career and the name MAGDALEN and released 3 more albums: REVOLUTION MIND (1993) and THE DIRT (1994) and a MAGDALLAN END OF THE AGE (1999) with CHUCK WRIGHT on bass and KEN MARY on drums. If you can track down all 4 albums they are have some great gems. I'm not sure of the spiritual beliefs of KEN MARY, but KEN TAMPLIN and LANNY CORDORLA are Christians. LANNY CORDORLA does mission work in the Middle East. KEN TAMPLIN is one of my favorite singers along with MICHAEL SWEET (STRYPER, SOLO, SWEET & LYNCH and SUNBOMB), ROB ROCK (IMPELLITTERI, ANGELICA, JOSHUA, DRIVER, SOLO), JOSHN KRAMER (SAINT) and GREG X. VOLZ (PETRA 1976-1985). Side note: After discovering SHOUT in 1990 through a friend, I thought MAGDALLAN was the same band as SHOUT under a diferent name. I'm not sure if I knew the band changed their name where they had an injunction to cease under the name SHOUT where there was another band by the same name back then. I know it was mentioned recently on another youtube channel this passed week of the injunction but I forget where. I've heard of the band for a long while before BIG BAND was released around February 1992 and that album was on my want list for a good year back then. The managers of a Religious Book and Bible House in Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland, Canada would allow me to use resources to see what was up and coming in Christian hard rock and metal. I remember mentioning MAGDALLAN and the new album being delayed. I eventually found out that SHOUT was a separate band from MAGDALLAN.

Ken is a monster musician and sick drummer for sure. This is very interesting. Its not at all the type of song that sets up for double kick. Its like a pop song with double bass. Some might say slightly over-drummed but its very educational. Thanks🤘🏽

Awesome drummer. My favorite drummers though are the late Eric Carr and my cousin's uncle Ronnie that played with Joe Perry. But yes he is one hell of a drummer. Much respect to him. Ronnie tried teaching me how to play. But I am left handed when it comes to drums. However I play guitar right handed. And I love my guitars. I have 9 of them after all lol. And I'm not done buying them.
