Talking about the small adjustments off the wrap 10 is very helpful. I also liked how you mentioned the boards you are sliding on and arrows you are targeting. This information really helps the viewers understand what is happening on the lanes. Nice video 👍
Do you look at the arrows? When you say you are looking at 18, is that 18 board at the arrows? Do you ever move your eyes closer to you or further out? Thanks for the great videos!
Yes, I always look at the arrows, so it's board 18 at the arrows! 98% of the time, I keep my eyes at the arrows, but the other 2% of the time, I will move my eyes closer to me if I have to slow my ball speed down and/or get the ball to read the lane sooner. I have tried moving my eyes farther down the lane when I need to get the ball to hook later or throw it harder, but I'm not nearly as accurate and it's still uncomfortable for me, so I hardly ever do it. Perhaps something I could schedule into my practice sessions though!
Hey Valerie, Nice video- like how you talk thru your adjustments ! Do you throw 15 lb ? My teammate is 68 with 10.5 mph ball speed, feels more speed would help him carry. Considering dropping to 14 lb. Thoughts ? Thank you
@@bowlwithVALue - for a medium rev 68 yo with ball speed @ 11 (per house scoreboard), no carry loss with 14 lb ? Already have that issue lol. Thank you & best wishes to you !
Hmm...I'm not sure I can answer that! I didn't have carry loss with 14. In fact, I have more carry with it because I can throw it harder -- used to throw it 13.5-14mph with 15lbs and now throw it 15mph!
Sorry for the delay! Great question....The effect and 3.0 are very different. check out this video if you haven't already -- ruclips.net/video/JlwWcbRjnqQ/видео.htmlsi=yFnTrjAkf_cDrXOE I threw all 3 of the ones you mentioned actually haha. I don't know much about storm bowling balls, but it looks like the summit peak would be a cleaner, quicker bowling ball? The effect is that shape for me. the 3.0 is overall stronger, earlier and almost as quick response.
The 2.0 Hybrid was my favorite and most used ball from the time I bought it when it was released. I purchased an Effect and I like it when the lane conditions allow it as most of the time it is too strong. But when the conditions were good, I had some nice series with it.
Great question...Dasha and I made this video for our best 6 ball arsenal -- ruclips.net/video/JlwWcbRjnqQ/видео.htmlsi=teopcGKfV0hQoJTB and it was on a house shot!
8:07 good strike there. I’ve been thinking about the Effect since it’s been out, I also hammer the 2.0 it response better when I’m on 25 and have to get it to 10 or 5 in that area and it comes back hard to the pocket. But that effect ball seems to work better keeping it in the oil . Great job on the last 5 strikes..
thank you! yes, very responsive off of friction and I was surprised at the traction it has in oil. If you haven't seen it yet, I posted another video on the Effect with Dasha!
I almost forgot to say my Effect has really changed my spare game for the better for 7, 4-7, 2-7 spares especially. I am a lefty and since picking this ball up my back up ball game has been the greatest improvement I've made in a long time.
I am really liking the old vs new videos. I think a lot of people who use a 2.0 are looking to see how the Effect stacks up. It would be cool to see the new Track Cypher compared to something like the Cuda as the cores looks very similar.
That's ok! There are a few other RUclipsrs out there that are able to compare all bowling balls. Right now I'm just sticking with the 7 brands within Brunswick :)
I love my Widow 2.0. I'm not ready for a hammer effect, I've never thrown a pearl until recently. I picked up a used Nuclear Forge to get myself ready. I need to win the 649 to get all the balls I want!
I would go widow 2.0 then 2.0 hybrid then effect 😏 or at least that’s what I did at the Queens, with maybe one or two other balls between the 2.0 hybrid and effect 😅
Valerie, Thanks for the nice ball comparison video. I bought the 2.0 hybrid about 2/3 thru our season but didn’t throw it much as the lanes were fairly dry. One critique & maybe it was me- you did well in communicating the move with your feet but I wasn’t catching if/how you were adjusting your target. Thank you /will continue to follow. Best of luck.
Hey Steve! thanks for the comment. I saw this before we recorded the latest review and I realize I just said quickly "2&1" or "2&2" without explaining what that actually means! So in the Brunswick Perfect+Intense Mindset comparison video, I made sure to explain it.
Yes, for sure. The 2.0 hybrid is a bit earlier and smoother than the effect. I would switch to the effect once the 2.0 hyb started to flat 10 / run out of energy.

Thanks so much for your comment! I'll be sure to keep discussing stuff like that in future videos
Been enjoying your videos! The BW 2.0 Hybrid is my favorite ball right now. Just picked up an Effect and a BW 3.0, and both of these balls hook a ton!
They really do hook a lot 🤯
Rookie question here.. when you are lining up your feet, do you line up with your left or right foot when you mention what board you're standing on?
Love my Effect!! HammerTime 🔨💪🏻

Thanks so much! It's been helpful for me watching the videos back also.
Will it be a good choice to get the 3.0 over the effect, if i already have a blackwidow 2.0 hybrid and summit peak in the bag?

Awesome video! I have both bowling balls and they compliment each other well 😊
Yay!! thanks for the input.
Good Stuff! Would love to see more Radical stuff. I just think that their cores are so interesting. Thanks
Thank you! We will see what we can do :)
Great video - very helpful to this die-hard Hammerhead!
Since the Effect is a pearl, would you start with Widow 3.0 first before going to the Effect?
@@ScorpionDragon11 aww thank you! I’m a big fan of hammer too😎
Yes, that would be my move. Widow 3.0 -> 2.0 hybrid -> effect as the fronts break down

That's usually my move!
My pleasure. thanks for the comment.
I bowl two-handed how much did you get your ball drill for your hook. My ball is drill for a hook last second.
My drilling is on the bottom right of the screen. It’s drilled to go longer and snap pretty hard also😊

What speed are you throwing the Effect
I’m honestly not sure of my exact ball speed but I’m pretty sure it’s around 15mph

thanks Joe! I will see what I can do about that one specifically 😏
Seems like effect has more energy going into the pocket.
Yes! Definitely retains more energy and is quicker response to friction than the 2.0 hybrid.
Excellent video Valerie
Thanks Daryl!
Nice video..I would like to see the sublime and the IQ pearl...
Thank you. And I'm sorry....I can't do anything outside of the Brunswick family!
O ok..my bad.. thanks any way

I used to get that shooting pain in my thumb. I called them "zingers". I found by radiusing the edge of my thumbhole more, that eliminated it.
thanks for the tip! After the video, I put some tape in that thumb hole and it solved the problem...I was squeezing 🙃😬

I have both balls and the Effect hands down strikes and carries the 10 a lot more. Not sure the 2.0 has a spot in the bag anymore.
Widow is a lot rounder the effect looks more hook set to me.
Yes, I agree with that! Not sure I fully conveyed that in the video...
