I like it a lot. The "feel" of the old car but with some new elements. However, not that fond of the lights and the grille. Still a bit too... I dont know, 'old' looking?
Bugged me that the head lights and grill were basically untouched. In my opinion the Saab 900 doesn’t need changes in the first place but if you are gonna modernize it the head lights of cars is literally one of the most recognizably different things through different years of cars.
Yes, I wouldn't call that a redesign, too much unchanged. Look like a C900 with just a body kit. Would like to see a complete body redesign with updated lighting, grill, mirrors, windows, hood, rear. Keep some of the classic roots but modern. Is interesting though.
Thecrazeecow It’s the grille and lights that make the 900, with the modernisation of the classic grille with the roots of the 92 and the first lights with wipers on
I agree with Robert good design needs to be consistent. Making the lights modern and having the grill at least a gray color would've made it look so much more cohesive. Nothing else in the car is that tacky chrome
Cool, I love the fact that you state that you do go back and forth when working on your projects. Well done! The 900 is a cool classic. You just made it modern and cooler.
Super sketch work. Very pleasing to see how you retained and enhanced the iconic shoulder line of the original. The 900 concept was developed around functionality and it would be good to see that functionality/simplicity embraced within the modernisation, after all modernisation does not necessarily require the rejection of usability and practicality which was the honest and authentic appeal of Saab design. Thank you again for sharing your work.
Awesome! Glad to see you keep these videoes coming man even after a couple that weren‘t well received by the community! Still one of the best channels out there and most entertaining keep it up!
This is great . I do similar things to this using Samsung Sketch. It is a bit more limited with not so many layers , but I usually get by on only using a couple of layers anyway. I really like what you've done here 👍
I must say this is one of the redesigns I enjoyed better! A little thing that I would like to see though is the car (or any of your redesigns) with their original wheels just a little "modern-ed up" if you understand what I mean? Especially on old cars they really add character and I feel like it would be great to still see them on the car afterwards ;)
@@PierreColombo900 Well yea! They are pretty unique to Saab and I just feel like he could've made them a little sharper, maybe a color correction or change some proportions in order for them to look somewhat modern and just go with the design.
@@julyoon exactly ! I personally like more the other model who has kind of a rotative effect but these wheels only came in 15" if I'm correct A 2 tone with black touches would've been great !

Thanks for this, I really like it. Now I got mad ideas about my Ng 900. And the Og9-3 has to go to the other project I was thinking about. Wil be back on my account later with the project name when I start it. But maybe I have to make the 900 first. Really cool design specially some areas.
AWW YEAH :D a Swede! And I know the hood line you're talking about, it's on the 2008-2011 9-3! It was inspired by the 2007 Aero X concept :) My two critiques of your modernization are the aerodynamics and the hexagonal mesh in the intercooler grille; SAAB never used that. They used horizontal slats for that! Part of the reason being to make each set of three grills look more unified. And SAABs cars always had some of the lowest drag coefficients on the road, so I think the aggressive intakes are kinda out of place
I really like the clean look of the front end at 7:18! Just the headlights and grille in an aggressive, rakish front opening. If you want a suggestion, I'd love to see you inject some style into a 4th gen. Ford Taurus. It was popular, and a great car, but it's incredibly boring to look at!
Because it doesn't look modern, looks like a cheap aftermarket bodykit, proportions are all wrong in the final version, highlights are all wrong, swage line is to thick. It looks like a Fiat 123 with a SAAB nose, not an actual SAAB. I would have used more last edition 9-5 details as I still think it looks contemporary. I love SAB but this is no good at all. He is great at photoshop and illustrating but not a stylist at all. @@samuelemusmarra242
Just randomly came over your youtube page, realy cool video concept! If you take ideas a 82-83 volvo 245 wagon with the low bonnet would be realy cool, would love to see your version of that.
Personally i would merge the headlights and indicator lights, other than that this was sweet, just discovered your channel and this stuff is really cool, instant sub
Every modernization come with new design elements or revisited line-flow (commonly known as face-lifts). You did great job with the body kit even if, IMHO, front headlights need a hole new design. I can understand that the headlight in this particular car represent a major part of its identity, but our role as designers when modernizing, is to assimilate subtile design keys from the previous version of the product and then, try to express our approach (the new element to be created in this case, the headlights) based on our understanding of those design keys. So, leaving them as they are, and adding a lambo-like bumper drove the final result (i should say: the final car feeling, or design langage) to look a little bit "eclectic". My comment was of a conceputal nature, as your drawing and your photoshop skills are perfect !!!
I have one of those 'unicorns' you speak of 😍 called the Swedish Special Edition or Sports Edition. 7 were exported to Europe and 8 kept in Sweden. Like your design but lights and grille need modernizing a bit maybe make the lenses slightly wider with LED inserts. Widen/modernize the grill too like Audi did
Great job!! I would like to own one that looks like that. Could you make the back of the cars too ? Would be cool to have a full redesign . Waiting for the next one!!
Can you redesign HM Ambassador ??? It was an iconic car of India for a long time..... We will wait for it....... Anyone who agree me hit like and support......
DerPokzyツ Yes! That would be Great! It’s my favourite car ever! But he MUST keep the Pop-Up-headlights. Removing them, would rob the Car of its soul..Low Profile ones would be ok though.
Not bad, the last design language element that SAAB exhibited was the more "coupe-like" proportions of shortening the side windows top to bottom and raising the height of the doors. A modern 900 would definitely go that route and also the headlights would be some sort of design statement in and of themselves, probably a LED lightstrip with the viggen logo or something.
Which is your favorite SAAB model???

9-3Aero
93 cabrio
Saab 35 Draken
