I think they were left out so they would not draw attention away from new enemies. Then again I have no idea why barnacles were brought back. I'm just trying to understand why they left two major enemy types out.
Weird that the devs didnt put it in the game by default.

If you've actually played the leak, you'd see that they are far from complete and in a working state.
