You don't have any expected freedoms of expression or speech in private companies. Such freedoms are only afforded publicly and to protect against government actions. Private companies aren't held to that same standard.

Under Employment laws, political beliefs aren't a widely accepted class so there is little to no protection for political views in the workplace. Facebook at the time had a policy against openly supporting politics. The lawsuit was over his contract which was never breached at the time of his firing, which entitled him to $100 million in stocks upon the end of his tenure in office. He still had rights to those stocks, and that's what his settlement was paid in. Facebook technically lost nothing.

Actually VR is becoming more and more adpopted in recent years. In fact you can get an oculus quest 2 for the same price as a nintendo switch. It is a developing industry, and is already worth quite a bit of money.
I have 3 quest 2’s. If you haven’t tried VR, I’d recommend it. It’s only like 300 for one. Amazing deal, and plenty of games.

I can guarantee you there are companies you like right now that practice this very same thing. Political views aren't a privately protected class, so large corporations are allowed to discriminate, although Facebook more specifically has a "no expressing politics of any sort" policy. No matter how people feel about Facebook handling this donation or other acts by Palmer, it wasn't the first time he did this, he got away with openly supporting Republicans twice before being fired for this.
