    Thanks for your helpful video Raley. Bought my chain saw 11 yrs ago. 38cc Craftsman.
    Needs new fuel lines now.
    Didn't know how to replace. Thanks for showing me how. 🙂
    Remember Raley, that God loves you!
    Have a great day! 🙂

    Thank you Raley!! Your video really helped me out. I had to replace my fuel lines and then I couldn't remember where the lines went to put it back together the right way. Your video got me back on track and my chainsaw is back up and running! Thank you so much for the time you took to put this video out on RUclips.

    Thank you Raley. I had time to dink around with a 20 year old Craftsman just for fun. Appeared to have minimal use but the fuel lines were in pieces beneath the carburetor. I did everything I could think of to do the job right, and it just wouldn't start. I kept thinking, I've done everything I can think of, twice, but no joy. Your video showed me I had the fuel lines incorrectly placed. As it's midnight, I can't test my final job (wife would kill me) but lesson learned: If you've done everything right, and it doesn't run, you haven't done everything right.

    I think if you look at the fuel flow in the lines while pumping the purge bulb you will realize you are pulling fuel through the unfiltered hose.

      @@RaleysSmallEngines Engines don't need a fuel filter to run, the commentor is correct. The small line is the filter to carb fuel supply line. The large line is the purge bulb to tank return line. The purge bulb is on the return side of the fuel system. I'd expect wrong information from a DIY'er tackling this project and doing a video (of which there are many youtube videos) but not from a small engine mechanic that is supposed to be knowledgeable about this stuff.

    • @yusayres2505
      @yusayres2505 Год назад

      The filter as any filter is to prevent undesirables from passing, not for the engine to run.

    This doesn’t look right. Normally the filtered intake goes into carb, carb out to primer in and primer out to fuel tank. I think your way should work but it’s not the usual configuration.

      Yes, some machines are different.

    • @robertlarose4321

      @@RaleysSmallEngines NO this saw fuel lines ARE plumbed wrong they are backwards the bigger line is the returned line and the smaller one is the intake line the one that the fuel filter goes to... the primer bulb is a one-way valve it sucks fuel from tank into top of carb thru the carb into primer bulb back to tank... placing filter on the return line in the 2 o'clock position may run but only in the up and down position turning the saw sideways will only run with a FULL tank of fuel... oh! and don't use petroleum jelly on a silicone fuel line because petroleum jelly will dissolve silicone.
      now is a professional mechanic myself for over 40 years I'm still trying to figure out why you used a power tool to remove the screws out from plastic parts that always causes stripping out the holes... not to mention why you remover the switch lever... was not needed to.

    nice video... too bad it was wrong; you assumed the guy before you fixed the saw right so you copied the way he installed the fuel lines and he did it wrong so you did it wrong too! two wrongs don't make a right.. No "reply" from you is needed, because I will only have to "fix" that too!

    • @killer2600
      @killer2600 2 года назад

      I'm not sure if it was wrong before he worked on it. Looked right to me, line going under the carb from purge bulb to large tank hole on the right and fuel filter attached to what looks to be the smaller fuel hose. Honestly, looks like he would have done it right if he would have copied how it was already done.
