    The Doritos bag is a classic storage container for carb parts! So many small engines just need a bit of maintenance and care. I wonder how many good machines are sitting, unassembled on shelves in shops with their parts in a Doritos bag--forgotten. You could go ON-THE-ROAD across America, Bill, fixing all those old forgotten machines! I hear there is a new bylaw coming to your neighborhood "No Chainsaws at 7 AM" haha Good job Bill. You look really young in that early morning light!

      Funny, they brought me a prime
      Box with parts for two lawn
      Mowers today, and told me to figure it out 😂😂😂 lucky me one was a briggs and one a honda so they were easy to figure out, up until the honda was missing the auto choke plastic deal, and wax plug.. and the briggs the two carburetor bolts and springs 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️
      Im at best a shadetree tinkerer extraordinaire, with more patience for things that dont talk back, but i will say, Some people should not mess with equipment.
      Eitherways i got them running thanks to a local shop that has a boneyard thats a heaven and a few amazon places that sell OEM parts

    • @GuysPlayingWithTools
      @GuysPlayingWithTools  10 месяцев назад

      @ricardobernal8897 if you are a tinkerer, you are halfway to being a master of carbs. The Honda and briggs carbs are pretty predictable and once you get comfy with them, the rest will all make sense and eventually start feeling like they are all the same. 👍

    Took your advice from a previous video and just bought a new carb kit. Came with new lines, spark plug. gaskets and filters. Sadly, they forgot the wire thingy that you used to pull the lines through but I soldiered on. Just found your channel and already have learned a lot.

      I use good needle nose pliers, cut the point at an angle and two cycle oil to
      Lube the hose.. insert in hole and twist it on in, and with needlenose pliers pull er out.. easy peasy… long needlenose help alot in the process
      Ive never been fortunate to get a kit with the pullers before 🙄

      It's a "gotta have". I have never seen a formal name for it, I call it my "fuel line tool". I can't find it anywhere online but it comes with some fuel line and carb kits. If you are here in the states, email me, I have a couple spares at the moment and wouldn't mind mailing one out. 👍

    Got a pair of them in the shop right now (subscriber repeat watcher here) one has bad crank seals… carb wont idle
    Right, rpms hang, and if u tilt it sideways it will run correctly for a bit till it floods.. pressure tested it and soap and water and yeah air leak behind the clutch at 7psi… on the fence about fixing it due to the seals being a pain in the rear to do and really time and labor worth more than the saw (has husqvarna type carb on it) 1997 california model
    The other one was exactly like yours a poulan 🤢 knock off, swapped all parts (with updated linkage carb) from a good parta saw i had (bad crank seals too) and it runs like a champ 2011 model
    Thank you for what you do

      Thanks for watching, I really enjoy what I do here. Good catch finding the leak, air leaks can drive you crazy on a saw. I usually put those off to the side for days when I don't have anything interesting going on. 🙂

    • @GuysPlayingWithTools
      @GuysPlayingWithTools  8 месяцев назад +1

      No, but it would make it hard to start and probably leak fuel. Adjust the H screw on the carb while trying to rev the motor, you will see a huge difference when you get it right. You can get a toolset cheap on Amazon or E-Bay

    Just worked on mine. I noticed when replacing the breather plate that tightens the carb there is a screw missing left of the air intake port. Was it not in the chips bag? 😂

    • @GuysPlayingWithTools
      @GuysPlayingWithTools  Месяц назад

      The 27T? It doesn't serve much of a purpose, so I don't always put it back. It holds the airbox to the carb to speed up production. 😁

    • @84gibsonexp
      @84gibsonexp Месяц назад +1

      @@GuysPlayingWithTools I would assume based on the design of that plastic filter housing that screw keeps it tight against the carb to prevent un filtered air leaks caused by that housing possibly warping from heat and age from a missing screw.

    • @GuysPlayingWithTools
      @GuysPlayingWithTools  Месяц назад

      @84gibsonexp That's what I originally thought too, but it just holds the airbox in place on the carb and doesn't affect the seal on either end.

    What is the number on part of the carburetor

    • @GuysPlayingWithTools
      @GuysPlayingWithTools  8 месяцев назад +1

      The one I ordered was a ZAMA W-26. You might have to do some parts swapping on this one though. I usually use the secondary throttle body(the part with 2 holes) from the original carb and change the linkage from the old carb to the new if it doesn't clear the rubber insulator behind the carb.
