    Thank you, Penny!! I'm on my third week of using the Retin-A (p.m.) and Collagen (a.m.) capsules. I had commented before that even though I've been using Retin-A for over 25 years, I still have irritation and peeling. I am thrilled to say that I have had no irritation with the Droplette, and my neck of all things is way more hydrated than it's been in years, and I think that's the collagen at work. I am using nothing else new but the Droplette. (And may I just tell those out there who have it, that if you shake it gently after the first two passes, you can definitely get a third and sometimes a fourth pass!!) Thank you for this wonderful interview and even more helpful information.

    Dear, Penny, thank you for putting together this video. It was very helpful to hear from the developers, and you posed great questions to them. I have a two-part question: 1) will the argireline in the collagen formulation cause muscle flacidity/atrophy over time, and 2) will doing bi-weekly microcurrent treatments work against the argireline - or will it counteract any "sag"? Thank you again for making this video!! I'm "pumped" to add this device to my arsenal :) Also THANK YOU for the discount code. What a blessing! I just ordered the device and have subscribed to the 30-day collagen formulation. We shall see :)

    • @droplette
      @droplette 3 года назад +8

      Hi there! Great questions - so botox and argireline work differently. Botox is a muscle relaxant, which prevents your muscles from contracting. The lack of movement makes the muscle atrophy, resulting in flaccidity. Argireline works differently - it prevents contractions. This means that the muscle can still technically contract, but takes more energy to do so, so it's not going to atrophy. In fact, it does the opposite. A 2013 study published in the Journal of Cosmetic and Laser Therapy found that argireline actually improves the histological structure of skin tissue and rejuvenates aging skin.

    • @powerhouse4273
      @powerhouse4273 3 года назад +2

      Wow! I've been reading up on argireline, but I did not come across that information about improving the histological structure. I feel much better about this. Thank you for responding, and thank the Droplette team for developing this fascinating device and formulations!

      Hi Carima! You’re right, these are large molecules that don’t penetrate the skin in topical formulations. Droplette is able to get them in by “packaging” them in high-velocity, microscopic droplets that are supercharged by our device’s pump, which enables deep delivery of the ingredient.

    Amazing video, thank you! I think all companies producing at-home devices should provide a lot of detail on the science behind how they're product actually works and be open to questioning (otherwise it could all just be a marketing scam!). Would love to see more videos like this in future :).
    I'm very excited for this product to become available overseas. However currently I wouldn't be able to use it as unfortunately there are ingredients in each of the capsules that cause my skin sensitivity (essential oil, argireline, glycolic acid. I am also sadly sensitive to copper peptides, can't remember if they are in there or not, but worth mentioning if they aren't in terms of avoiding sensitising ingredients in a sensitive option). Hoping they add capsules suitable for sensitive skin types :). Ingredients that focus on hydration, barrier repair and antioxidant protection would be great :). Haven't tried growth factors, but they sound interesting! Definitely interested in a vitamin c suitable for sensitive skin types. :)

      So I’m not a great example bc I am always using more than the average person (without a skincare channel) needs.
      Bottom line, it most definitely does not replace moisturizer and sunscreen for sure, and if you’re using tretinoin I wouldn’t give that up ❤️

I wonder if most of the solution is dispersed early, making the subsequent bursts less effective? Or have they somehow managed to distribute the same amount of actives with each burst? I guess my real question is of coverage and how do I get an even application? Penn, do you only use one capsule? I don't want to waste it but... 😛 thank you for all of your hard work and knowledge. How would capsules with problematic ingredients for skin surface problems like malassezia be? For example polysorbate 20. Would I be able to go in after misting and clean off what is left on the surface so it doesn’t feed and create a break out? Or would this compromise how effective the ingredients are because of all the disruption from surface removal? I struggle with dry/dehydrated/sensitive/rosacea/acne/seb derm skin problems, trying to maintain it is near impossible with most products containing at least one problematic ingredient. I’m hoping this may be a way of getting what my skin needs right in there without feeding the surface issues.

    • @PENNSMITHSKINCARE
      @PENNSMITHSKINCARE  3 года назад +6

      Yes, it gets in to the live cells-so 20 cell layers deep past the stratum corneum.
      The living cell is the key. The penetration is past the dead cell layer of the stratum corneum.
      If the Droplette gets genetic material in to live cells, it is getting it deeper than the dead stratum corneum ❤️

      They didn't actually answer it. They referenced their study in live cultured skin where it got 20 layers deep and into cells, and then said that as the droplette molecules are smaller, they should go deeper. Still, they never referenced any studies that would tell them how deep they get on actual skin on faces, nor did they say the actual words "this gets 20 cell layers deep PAST the stratum corneum".

    • @NA._

Maybe they can answer it here by letting us know is it getting into the epidermis, the dermis?

    What I want to know is if those cells in the 20 cell deep, were keratinised in their study. Because passing molecules through keratinised cells is different then passing molecules through non keratinised cells. The cells in the stratum corneum are keratinised so this is important.

      I will absolutely ask this question! 😃

    • @droplette
      @droplette 3 года назад +1

      This is a great question! The study we reference in the video was intended to show that we can deliver extremely large molecules (plasmids are millions of daltons in MW) through multiple layers of skin cells and into the cell. A more representative experiment that we have performed was using Droplette to deliver ~100kDA RFP-tagged molecules (size matched with HA/Collagen) through keratinized skin (ex vivo) with an intact stratum corneum. We observed robust delivery of the RFP-tag into the epidermis, while topical application yielded no penetration through the SC.

    • @Plug8587
      @Plug8587 3 года назад

      I would really love to read those studies, its so interesting! I couldn't find them on the website (or was the article titled "clinical trial proof" the study?) or on pubmed. So the 20 cell layers deep statement doesn't relate to keratinised skin, but in the study performed on keratinised skin, it still penetrated past the most superficial cell layers of the stratum corneum? Just maybe not through the entire layer?

      I have both and they are very different. As I understand it (and perhaps the Droplette team can clarify if I'm wrong), both devices have a piezo - the sieve-like thing that creates the mist. The most compelling difference is that the Droplette also has an very high tech pump that draws mist in that's created by the piazo and and expels it with high velocity. In the video Rathi talked about sprays that simply cause the mist to 'pool' on the skin - that's Reduit - when I use it my skin ends up all wet, I have no sense of any of the ingredients penetrating. In fact, I have spray skincare that pools less (the NIOD SIOD) With Droplette the skin doesn't get wet because the solution in the capsule gets INTO the skin layers rather than pooling on top.

    So, in a skin culture they ave gotten 20 cell layer deep? Does the skin culture HAVE a stratum corneum? If this only gets 20 skin layers deep in a live person, that would just be the stratum corneum? Are there any studies in live humans showing how deep this gets? She didn't actually answer this, but only talked about her studies on tissue in a lab, where it got 20 cell layers deep. How does this compare in terms of skin depth penetration to electroporation with BioEqua, which claims it gets water based actives of YOUR choice into cells.

      @@droplette Thank you for your reply. Good to know it reaches the epidermal layer. Looking forward to what new pods you develop.

    Wow! This device and ladies are amazing! Thank you for introducing this Penny! Questions.. How deep does in go in terms of micro-needling? Does the product go as deep or deeper than if we were to medical needle and enter product? And would it be beneficial to use this device after we cosmetic or medical needle?

    I wonder if they plan on making the capsules refillable? I really dislike waste.

      The capsules are not only recyclable but reusable (just FYI). They also include a pre-paid envelope to return capsules to them ❤️

    Hi Penny! Would you recommend using the Droplette before or after the Newa device?

    Great looking device :). I use the Foreo UFO device, which supposedly helps the actives also penetrate deeply into the skin. Do I need this droplette too?

    I recently purchased this and only got the collegan inserts. I use a retin a product so I did not feel getting their retinal insert necessary and chose not to get the glycolic insert. This was a costly decision to purchase and cannot afford daily use for my collagen.
    My question is this: do you think using once weekly is going to make any difference? Is it enough for this product or should I be using more? If more what is the minimum times weekly to see any difference?

    Very good info. Does this have anything to do with getting oxygen into the skin also
