- This is the new freshly facelift BMW X5, and for the first time it is offered as an M60i, it has undergone a host of changes to update and refresh the model. It has a redesigned front end and different light clusters on the rear. Inside the X5 now features the latest BMW infotainment system along with a changed dashboard which harbours far less buttons for a clean clutter free approach.
The BMW X5 has also had new powertrain options including the M60i & this new Hybrid 50e model.
The question is have all these changes been enough to bring the X5 right up to date and is this M60i the model to go for?

It’s a powerful car for people who want power AND comfort. Not only power (X5M). You can get air suspension with M60i which makes this car perfect
I'm still waiting for an evaluation of the 2024 BMW X5 M60i ZERO to 100KPH time with holding down the downshift paddle shifter for several seconds. That hidden feature adds 40HP for 10 seconds, bringing the 523HP to 563HP. 10 seconds is a long time on full throttle in this lovely beast.
I just bought a 2025 M60. OMG, greatest car I've ever driven, not just owned. Mine is Mineral white metallic with black interior and every option package available.
Very good review Ry. The question of it being an M? ANY car with an S engine is an M car. BMW is first and foremost, an engine company. M would be nothing without the engine. All you have to do is drive a B58 back-to-back against an S58. No comparison.

Personal preferences aside (style, ride…etc.), I bought the M60i because it’s more comfortable and quieter then the full M, not to mention the 20% better highway mileage. The exhaust note is nice in Sport mode but not loud enough to annoy your neighbors. A younger me would probably prefer the full M.
Nice, I bought it also .. but not set received. What about the fuel consumption?Is it „horrible“?
@@lakidis6569 it’s decent for such a fast car. Average around 19mpg for mix driving and 21+ on highway.
What about the lack of a shift knob? I panicked and bought an X3M thinking that was going to lose the shift knob too. A little crystal nubbin just doesn't seem right.

Matt. Firstly, stunning colour! Wow! X5. Simply not dating at all? The M must surely be the [only] challenger to the new Range Rover Sport SV? Or perhaps better! Nothing from Merc, Audi or even Bentley comes close.

In terms of performance the Range Rover is slow and with the old N engine.
Also much more expensive.
Absolutely stunning machine. I have a question though, are those seats an option and if so how do I find them. I haven’t seen them available on the website here in the US. I would get these in a heart beat.
Those seats are standard in the M60.
How do you get the X5M seats in an M60i?
In some countries its an option. I have them on my 45e ❤
I enjoyed watching the Video Review. The updated Model looks great particularly the New Curved Display featuring the latest Infotainment System 😊
Are those seats a special order? Here in the US we don't get them.
I asked when I ordered mine, and we can't in the US. Only Europe.
No these are a European specification option.
Yeah the seats are awesome, available in Australia Too but crazy expensive though.
BMW, why in your biggest M Market USA, where the car is manufactured, would you do this? Add the darn M Sport seats an an expensive option to M60i! I don't want an X5M it's to harsh for guests on longer drives.
22 x5 M50i with a stage 2 tune here. 25k less than a x5M comp and faster than one 🤔
Is it me or there is no sound?
Wonder what it’s like in a car park. My work has an underground car park under our building and it’s a bit narrow in places. Guess the rear wheel steer will help placing it in a space
Can teach it to know your parking spot. Then park with your phone when you're not in the car.
Currenlty only with crapple phones, Android hopefully to follow.
Also can drive in and out once the lesson is saved

Here's my gripe about this SUV. You can't get the BLACK WHEELS with ALL SEASON TIRES. And that rear hatch is a PAIN. The bottom portion comes out towards you making it much more difficult to put in heavy items such as a big case of bottled water, etc. Not well thought out by the BMW ENGINEERS.
OK, so buy all-seasons for the cold months, and use the performance tires for a few summers until they wear out. As for the split tailgate, the positive is that it keeps stuff from rolling out when opened. Net, these seem like minor annoyances on a great car.
Lots of extra expense and hassle in having 2 sets of tires. Plus its hard to find that size in all season tires. @@scooter5940
These things have NO SOUND. I couldnt believe it when i heard one in person. Its forced me to cancel my order sadly.

Been told the resonator delete is worthy.
Definately can afford a aftermarket exhaust after buying.
So so so so anything BMW have exhaust engineers that all failed school
100% agree with you, I drove the M60 a week ago, and let me tell you that I was so disappointed, no sound at all and it feels slower than my 2021 M50, btw my car sound MUCH better with the crackles and louder than the new M60, so I end up keeping my car for a couple more years
