Thanks for this - 12K screen just arrived and was hoping it would be a straight swap out, but now I know I have to take the bugger apart again to do this, so good to know.
That's actually an impressive printer. I'm surprised a company would actually allow the customer to modify the printer like this. Most wouldn't allow you to be fiddling around inside for worries of law suits. It's nice that you can make changes to it, and seeing the WW figurine you printed is a good quality. I'm very impressed that they included screen protectors as well. That's a must-have. Very nice, Wayne.
Hello would you say this is a worthwhile upgrade for very small prints? Would love to see some comparisons. I watched fauxhammers video and he wasn't too impressed with the new screen, but I felt like I could see a difference in his video on the side by side. any inconsistencies in the screen like he was talking about near the end of his video?
Just a friendly comment... Don't let either of the screens hang loose without proper protection of their panels. Use a towel or other kind of soft cloth to minimize the chance of breaking or scratching the panel.
Are you sure you had to install another screen protector? Looked to me like it already had one installed. And I've been told that the 12k upgrade isn't really an upgrade and that Uniformation isn't going to market the upgrade very hard.
Two thoughts Wayne. 8K printers tend to be pretty expensive and Uniformation could make a cheaper version by doing a part-exchange on upgrades. There is nothing wrong with the 8K screen you have, so Uniformation could take it back, let you have the 12K upgrade a bit cheaper, and then sell an 8K printer a bit cheaper with a pre-owned 8K screen as it would save them the cost of manufacturing one. Everyone wins. You get a cheaper upgrade, Uniformation get a perfectly good screen they can use - and sell - again, and other builders get an 8K printer at a slightly more reasonable price. Re network safety: Your router should allow you to create a Guest network if you don't already have one. I'd suggest connecting the printer to the Guest network. That way although it will have Internet access it won't have access to your home network.

I have tried a few small.prints and tbh I cannot see a difference
Nice upgrade. I'd still like to see you print an Asp Explorer from the Elite Dangerous game. It would be a cool diorama piece.
Ciao caro! 😊
If you upgrade as per this, do they still honor the warranty on the main machine, or is that lost as it's seen as tampering Wayne?
Good question but as they are the ones who are giving you the upgrade and instructions how to do it. I am sure they will support it
Chia sẻ video rất hay chúc bạn ngày mới tốt đẹp
