WIN A GKTWO BUNDLE (SEE BELOW)
Hey guys, after my last video got a lot of feedback regarding it;s length, I wanted to let you all know that this is another video that may not resonate with many of you who have followed for a while. I have about 4 videos aimed at absolute beginners coming out.
The point of this one is for new people to watch before they even consider looking for a resin printer. This is an overview of the whole process, with a few handy tips and is a general guide on how printing works.
The next video will be more about the post-processing stage.
I wanted to go back and do these beginner videos before I move on to more advanced stuff, which is coming soon, including a video on how to dial in your printer perfectly and what all the settings mean (which is a long/boring video) that many people may find benefit from.
Whilst this may not be the video for you. I'd still love it if you could watch it, to help boost it to more people out there, Even if you just click play and leave it on Mute.
I just wanted you to know what this was, before people start complaining it's a waste of time.
    WIN A GKTWO BUNDLE
Once again, we have another GKTWO Printer Bundle to give away...
To enter, It's really simple, There are the same simple steps as always to enter - with a twist.
    1. Be subscribed
    2. Watch the video - to the end

    4. Comment on the video
    5. Share the video ( will check. if you win and then can't show a link to a public source where this was shared, I will rescind the win and do another draw. sorry, This is all about driving Uniformities promotion)
This is part 1 of a 3 part series. So you'll need to do the same next week too! • How to Clean Resin Pri... and the How to Paint Resin Miniatures video (Called Part 3) • How to Paint 3D Prints...
When these videos reaches 100,000 views between, I'll pull one commenters name from a hat, and they'll win a GKTWO, with wash and cure stations.
If you do this on all videos, that's 3 entries
The winner will be announced by me on a livestream and will be contacted by me via my account on here. Your details will be sent to Uniformation who will arrange your Printer, Was and Cure system to be sent to you!

What i want for ALL future 3d printers is to have a heater by default, it's criminal to not have it in 2024 as it's such an essential part to ensure good printing.

It's not like it's difficult or expensive either; I doubt integrating a vat heater would add more than $10 in manufacturing cost per unit.

if you can't afford an external heater, how did you buy the printer. so no its a lame idea and just an added expense and something else to go wrong

    • @fede4819
      @fede4819 7 месяцев назад +12

@@Kiddeth That's an hilariously bad take and dumb reasoning, it's better to have an essential feature already builtin instead of having to spend extra time, troubleshooting and money to add it anyways to get an acceptable experience, especially when it doesn't add much cost to begin with.

When I watched to video, I realized that we only need one thing that is the heater. In fact, all the other parts are added for nothing, you dont even need the screen for resin printing. Just heater, heater and heater. Since GKTWO is the only model on the market with a heater, this makes it perfect :)

1 micron is actually 1/1,000 of a millimetre; so it's even more mind-boggling the level of precision on these machines.

I have both a resin printer and an fdm printer. In my experience resin printing has been far easier than fdm printing. FDM has trillion variables to fiddle with try to find the optimum result, clogged nozzles, overextrusion, underextrusion, blobs, bed adhesion and numerous other problems. Resin, so simple and fast too. The print quality is super smooth, not achievable with a fdm printer.

Another great printer came out that I want. Apparently I keep chasing this. I really wanted The M3 Premium, but they sold out. This GKTWO is now on my list. From the rule book “the special treasure is discovered only once by the first hero who searches the room for treasure, even if other heroes later search that same room”. No mention of having to be adjacent to treasure in any of the rules on searching for treasure. It specifically states “as a hero, you must first verbally declare your search. Do so by saying I am searching for treasure. Searching means you are looking around, opening things, searching for interesting objects and gold coins, regardless of what square you are on in the room. Do not move your hero figure when you search”. Seems pretty clear to me, you were right, he was wrong 😂

As much as I'd love a GKTwo, I got myself a Mars 3 Pro, after shopping around a bit. It's quite the workhorse and I love printing mini's for my D&D group. A horde of zombies + necromancer of thay was done and dusted in no time at all, and at good quality. Though, if anybody knows what causes my circular bases to print a bit wobbly and un-round, I would love to hear. Good detail on mini's but perfectly round stuff it has issues with. Weird.

I've been having so many failures with my AnyCubic, I ended up getting a Saturn 3, plus a heating mat, a fermenting belt, and a grow tent to put it all in. It's been frustrating since my FDM printer was much easier to figure out errors with. Currently running a Cones of Calibration on my Saturn 3,... i'll check back with results soon. GKTwo is a sweet printer, just out of my budget. Found my Saturn 3 for the same price as a Saturn 2 and treated myself for my birthday.

I've been doing FDM since I started playing with it during the lockdowns. I started with an Ender 3, did a lot of learning, and a lot of modifying, had a lot of failures etc etc. Last year I bought a Bambu X1 Carbon and it, just, worked. It's fast (relatively to an Ender3 anyway) reliable, and just easy. I've now got some ideas for projects that I think would be better suited to resin printing, and I'd love to start somewhere nearer to the Bambu, than the Ender!

So first of all, again a great video with quality info. Second, yeah i like sushi to xD
But back to your question, i never played heroquest so i can only tell you my personal thoughts.
On one hand i would say yes, first in the room is first on the treasure. But on the other hand, if i imagin a big room like a hall or throneroom etc. i would say just because your first in the room doesn´t mean your at the treasure, lets say your friend walks through the wall and stays right next to the weapons rack or what ever. Than again i don´t know all the game mechanics ^^
Now back to 3D printing. I started 4 years ago with FDM printing. At that time i went for the Ender 3 Pro because it was quite popular and affordable. I kinda wanted to do Resin but everyone was talkin about how toxic it is and the mess, not to mention the price of everything.
In hindsight, it would have been the better way of printing for me but thats a thing of the past. For now i want to get into printing with resin and i try to do it right from the beginning. Your videos are a big help for me. 3 Weeks ago i thought the Anycubic Mono M5S Pro would be the printer for me. Thanks to you i changed my mind and now i´m torn between the Saturn 3 Ultra and well the GKTWO. Money isnt realy the issue, i could afford it. But i know for a fact, that i´m not printing enough to realy make it count. I´m not playing tabletop or any game of that sort, i mainly print for fun and for metal casting. But many things i try to print with my Ender just don´t work the way i want them to.
I´m getting a resin printer, the only question is wich one. A GKTWO for free would make the decision so much easier :D

I had ok results but ended up wanting a larger build plate and turned around to get an Ender 3 Max. Had much better results and have printed a number of projects that I still use. I haven't played HQ in years, but I do remember having to be facing the object to search it - but take that with a grain of salt as it was EONs ago. Resin printing isn't that much of a PITA depending on what you are printing and which resin you are using. I use water-soluble resins, yes I know about their more brittle nature, but the safer clean-up is worth the trade-off. That said your mileage may vary as I primarily print prototypes and scale models, minis I find to be a pain to remove from the build plate so I don't print those often. However, I may change my tune on that as I've just ordered a flexible plate to install.

I started with a mars 3 pro about a year ago, loved it (though there were lots of parts issues early on). But it was too small for some things I wanted to print. Then I got the Halot Mage (NON PRO) as an Amazon flash sale… no bell and whistles, but it’s been a dependable work horse (apparently the pro version is rubbish though). The part I could have used the most help with, and still struggle some, is bed adherence

Now that the Fauxhammer resin is in the US, I'll have to see if it can be shipped northward. I'm looking forward to less brittle parts for my Bolt Action stuff....

These uniformation printers look exactly like formlabs, but in a MSLA format, which is awesome

I think going into 2024, manufactures need to start having vat heaters over general space heaters(or both?), and we need better exposure tests like the Anycubic RERF. Both of these features would help so many newbies and beginners ease into this hobby much better. Apart from that, everything else such as slicing or cleaning/curing are just things we have to do as is.

Well, in Guy's defense, I also have an OG anycubic photon and oh, boy, can they be a pain in the ass. No wonder he called it quits. In my experience, I also learned how temperature affects resin the hard way: by printing outside. Anyways, after some time I managed to calibrate and configure everything to a point that for several months I haven't had to use the printer anymore, because the backlog of unpainted minis was growing and I could not see an end to it unless I stopped.
That brings me to the issue that taking care of the printer, upgrading it, trying new configuring, etc. is a hobby in and by itself... But then you get carried on and start learning some CAD, because you're gonna need it, right? After all, you want to print your own stuff and you have some incredible ideas in your head that you'll never see materialize, but who cares? You try to learn anyways. And while you're busy calibrating the printer and doing some crude designs on your computer, what's the one thing you're not doing? Exactly, the thing you love to do and the very first thing that brought you to this point: painting miniatures.

The chamber heater is key. Summer, winter, and everything in between, 28⁰C and no failed prints (20kg later).
Hero Quest... When my brother and I were kids, we had a gentlemen's agreement that the person who searches gets the treasure. 30 years later that agreement still stands.

If I remember correctly, my friends and I had to kill all the enemies in a room to search it. We could all search it, but the first one would get the special item if there was one. Of course... the argument of ... "that's the way it's played in my house" always applies.
Even if they are videos aimed at beginners, it's always good to review well explained concepts. Thanks for your work.

Trying to restart this hobby, and been watching your video for the last days (a lot)! Huge thanks for being so direct and transparent. Super well done! Especially the videos of screen resolution being irrelevant were a bit of an eye opener. Well done!

It would be a really nice first printer to put in my future shed (keep the printer away from my kids). Since I'm in Canada and sometimes with the harsh temperature in winter, a heated chamber would be just perfect. Been following you for a while now, still lean a lot but didn't tiptoe yet in the SLA world. Yet I have so much ideas for my friends and family for miniature and DnD creations. Thanks for your hard work, your honest reviews and tips for any level of user experience. Keep it up!

Ive been considering a 3d printer to augment my 40k addiction for some time now. The Uniformation GK2 seems like a good setup to future proof my printing goals. Thanks for all your wonderful content, it all makes learning about this hobby a whole lot easier!

As someone looking for a new resin printer. Would you suggest the GKTwo or the Saturn 3 Ultra? I currently have a Saturn S and looking to move up a bit :). Also thanks so much for all the videos they have been very helpful to me.

I have a couple questions, one is about the give away and one concerns resins. First...Are entries valid in the U.S.? And would sharing the video to my Facebook count or no? Second....im new to this grand venture of 3d printing and am confused by all the types of resins. I dont have your wargammer resin you use. So my question is can you please make a video specifically on good starting resins that are of some what comparable grade to your go to that would suffice for lets say, busts or display pieces or one offs and the like. Thanks for all the great content 👍

Been learning 3d printing over the last month or so. Started off with FDM and I would love to learn resin as well. Your vids are a huge help and inspiration. The Uniformation GK2 is the printer I was leaning towards since your vid 9 months back. Thanks for another great vid!

I print on a Saturn 4k since a while and it took me many hours to get good and reliable results from this printer. It's starting to annoy me, especially when I need to print a lot and I think Uniformation did a great job simplifying the process for us. Would love to work with a GKtwo.
Thank you for the great content, especially for beginners it's valueable to have a complete guide.

If only resin wasn't toxic I'd be all over getting a 3d printer. I'm tempted by the Bambu Labs A1 or P1S (or maybe a resin one - can't decide!)

I have an FDM printer but I wasn't satisfied with the level of details I get with some figures. I love my FDM printer but I have been on the look-out for the best resin printer on the market. Living in the UK, I feel like the GK 2 will be a great option for resin printing with its built-in heater.
This video is exactly what I need to start my 3d resin printing journey.

I'm in CA where it's mostly warm - but it is winter so it's gotten horribly cold a few times - down into the 40s (4.5C) but now it's warmer - but not warm enough to print. I'm building a box and have a space heater/thermostat so I don't have to worry about the cold. Seriously - I had to leave the house with a flannel coat.

Been watching your reviews for a while now. Getting super close to pulling the trigger on a printer. New to the painting hobby and think it would be really fun to start printing models and painting instead of ONLY buying from GW. Anyways, this kind of content is exactly what I need to figure out if I am going to be biting off more than I can chew. Thanks!

Brand spanking new to 3D printing. Best to buy in at an entry level machine, or more advanced with the latest technology like the GK two? Is is best to buy the entire Uniformation package (printer, clean, cure), or find better alternative items and mix and match?

Combining two channels I really like, awesome! I went through the same as Guy. I had a anycubic mono and I really just had a few successful prints by accident. I even built a heater for it to help me. Now I want to upgrade to a more modern printer, which will hopefully make things easier
