I've listened to Alt-J for dozens of hours but have never seen what they look like and they look exactly like I imagined.
Watch some of their interviews! They are very pleasant people, especially Gus. You can tell they have a real passion for their craft. They take it serious without taking themselves serious.
Just saw them live and definitely didn’t expect the lead singer to be a big dude with a bushy beard and long hair like a heavy metal singer lol

@@BonJoviBeatlesLedZep when I saw him live he didn’t have a hat on and he wore a baggy black t shirt. Try picturing him like that, he looked like every front man for a hard rock cover band lol! I was expecting a tall skinny guy with a more “hipster” style beard and stache
The lead singer didn’t used to be that big, he’s gained some weight over the last couple years. He looked a lot different in their early days.
Seeing them a few years back was one of the best shows I'd ever been to! Can't believe this album is a decade old!
That vocal round at the end leading to the harmony and then the outro gets me every time. Just brilliant.

They're unique in the very best way. I remember hearing this album for the first time and knew immediately the world got another iconic band. If you haven't already checked out their new album, do yourself a favor listen to it.

Spent the day listening to Alt-J!! Their new album is fantastic, An Awesome Wave was so so meaningful to me, I can't explain how much joy their rhythms, vocals, harmonies, lyrics, their everything, brings me when I hear their music 💓
I remember the years between 2013 and 2017 where my friends and I would get busy discovering new music. I have no clue how I stumbled upon Alt-J, but since then they’ve always been on my iTunes. Seeing the title Alt-J Breezeblocks on a video posted Today majorly threw me off because of how long this song has actually been around. I guess I’m trying to say I’m loving this nostalgia!
It just dawned on me that 2012 was 10 years ago.

This was the song that started playing every time I connected my phone to the car bt, I’ve heard it so many times without consent. But still, here I am enjoying the first live performance I’ve seen of this song after so many year’s, it’s kinda beautiful tbh

So glad to see them on Colbert. I had a surgeon I used to assist that used to play a lot of their music in the OR and it's still a favorite to vibe to.

Just saw them in concert. Blown away!! One of the best concerts I have been to
Saw them around 2015 or so in Manhattan and they had this kid on drums with a metal background - double kick drum and all! He was really nice, hung out backstage after the show while other band members "excused" themselves. Performance was stellar though!

I’m not even a big fan of Alt J but wtf it’s been 10 years?! I remember that song being played everyday in my friend group back in high school and it feels like yesterday lmao. Glad they’ve kept going regardless of being a fan or what not!
That album was my AOTY in 2012. I was getting sober and that album helped soothe my rawness.

Never heard of them till now, and they have such a tightly wound but still free-flowing sound, it's brilliant! I gotta say, though, that the singer's stylistic pronunciation makes it nigh on impossible to actually hear the words. I'm sure some people know the words by heart, but at first listen I'm only understanding every third word, at best. And yes, I'm a native English speaker with a college education. Still, I like their sound, and I do like this song!
