I need ALLLLLLL the editing tips!
thanks. concise and clear!
this was super useful! Thank you!
Nice coming from premiere had trouble finding these 😁 I also remapped them to q and w so I can do it all with left hand
You had me at q and w ;). I think Premiere did a good thing making top and tail just those single keypresses - great call on remapping to use them in Final Cut Pro. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the tip - Coming from Capcut which has this as default, it's much much quicker than pressing two keys on the other side of the keyboard!
I like your channel since I am always trying to pick up some tips and tricks. In this case I might have a tip for you or your subscribers. I have changed my trim start/end tool and the blade tool in just [ and. ]. and B in customize shortcuts. Since those are the shortcuts I use most, using just 1 button for the shortcut makes editing much easier.
That's a good idea! Really handy. I've actually used H for a long time in other apps as my blade since my left pinky sits on it doing jkl shuttle. Thanks for the input 👍🏼
Thank u great video
thanks exactly what i was searching for!
Glad I could help!
🔥 Tutorial my dude!
The Final Cut Bro thanks so much!
thanks :)
Happy to help
Thanks a lot! I came from premiere so this is very helpful. I`d like to know though how do I trim all the clip and not only the one selected. Is that possibile? I`m doint selecting whole the clips with cmd+a but I don`t know if that is the best move. Or should I trying to use compound clip in this situation? (im doing tutorial vid like yours that needs to sync my face recording and screen footage).
Great video. I've been using FCPX and edit with all clips in the timeline and just cut up with the blade tool and delete (as you described earlier) so this will really help. I'm curious though. I see some people use the in/out points in the "All Clips" window and then add that clip to the timeline instead of how I do it by adding all the clips to the timeline and editing there with the blade tool. Any reason why they would do that? Is it faster? Some techie reason?
Thanks! For sure another way to work is to mark in/out before putting them on the timeline. Both methods work fine and I’ve used both for years. My preference has been to edit from a timeline of favorites or selects to the story telling main creative timeline. FCPx makes it simpler by marking favorites, viewing only favorites and then cutting those in.
My take is if it’s something that is fairly simple and you just want to knock it out quick then trim start trim end is the way to go.
My timeline ends before the end of my clips! How can I move the end mark forward?
My guess is you might be looking at a compound clip? If so, double click that clip and you should be able to extend it out.
For some reason when I do it on the keyboard ir doesn’t work, but when I click on the menu bar on top and click trim it does work. Any idea what’s happening?
Can you confirm the shortcut keys from the drop down menu that they’re the same?
@@CreativeVideoTips yes, they are same. Default. Option and ]
