I did this with thicker paper and I found it immensely helpful make a few adjustments to accommodate the thickness of my paper because my cross kept overlapping in the middle section where the two pieces fit together. 2:52 I unfolded the little triangle before folding the end. It makes the end just a little smaller. Otherwise, it's too big to fit in the vertical part. 3:49 Left a 1 mm gap between the ends that come together. 5:00 Also left a 1 mm gap between top and bottom. I also used double-side tape inside some parts to keep it from bowing.
Tips for starters... just get started! You'll improve with time & practice, it will take a while to see any income from youtube videos :) - I assume you mean tips for origami videos? Title them clearly and give them proper descriptions. And ignore the haters 😉
NykolXOXO I don't ever wanna use tape glue or scissors in my origami so instead I just rip my paper and I try to figure out how to do it without glue or tape.
So your paper just magically became horizontally cut in half on its own.. And of course it doesn't. That's the whole point of my comment. It's called sarcasm.
A big pet peeve of mine is ignorance. Look up 'pureland' origami, it's origami that strictly prohibits the use of cutting or glue. It was invented by John Smith in the 70s and has NOTHING to do with origami, there are plenty of traditional Japanese models such as the dragon, which include cutting the paper whilst making it. There are MANY origami models that start with rectangular paper (like this one), oddly enough - to get rectangular paper or for example pentagonal paper, you have to CUT the paper to be that shape or size. Not using glue or scissors in origami is perfectly fine however do not generalise and spread misinformation!
