Thank you Annika for a very enjoyable video. There are so many talented designers out there, I like to see your round up of designs you have decided to make. I intend to join you by making some of these designs myself. I look forward to updates on how it's all going 😊
Thank you so much for your kind words! I will definitely keep you updated throughout the year which patterns I decide to knit! And I would love some virtual knitting company, so please let me know if you decide to cast on one of the designs I mentioned in the video. 🙂
I’m currently knitting the Arctic Light Sweater by Veronika Lindberg which has a lot of cables. It’s only my 2nd cable knit sweater and i am about to make it to sleeve separation. Whew! It is also my first time knitting with a strand of mohair. It looks beautiful. I hope it fits me. 😊
I love the Arctic Light, it is such a beautiful design! ❤ What yarn are you holding the mohair with, a merino? It sounds lovely and I'll keep my fingers crossed that the fit is as you want it to be! 😊
I share some of your knitting goals. The Rib Wave pullover is absolutely dreamy and I got a kit for it from Sonder. I also love the Turtledove cardigan. I enjoyed seeing your projects 😊
Thank you for all the inspiration shared! 🤗 I found a couple of new designers to check out and we seem to have a shared interest in Anne Ventzel designs ☺️ I have recently finished her Klint Classic, hence can wholeheartedly recommend the design. Also, I love the spot sweater ans well and I am also planning to knit shore tee in 2025.
That is so wonderful, what a coincidence! 😊 I am very much looking forward to knitting at least one Anne Ventzel design this year. Did you enjoy her pattern writing style? I noticed that I sometimes don't enjoy the knitting process as much if the pattern is written in a way I don't like (usually if it is very technical).
I personally really like her writing style. It’s not overly wordy but everything is well structured and explained (and pointed to RUclips videos for challenging techniques). I guess we will see if her writing style will resonate with you as well!
@ sounds great, thank you for the summary! 🙂 Overall, I’ve had only one experience where I truly disliked the way the pattern was presented so I think it will be fine with me as well!
I knit a self drafted zipper sweater and I sew the zipper on by hand, hiding the sewing stitches between the bottom parts of the knitted stitches to make an invisible seam. It turned out amazing!
Oh my! So many beautiful patterns! How will you be able to choose which one to cast on! I wanted to go park at the Sonder Yarn . . .and then I saw another beautiful pattern! The Turtle Dove Cardigan! My dear SIL would look beautiful in this! Thank you so much for always inspiring me!
Thank you so, so much for your sweet comment! ❤ There are definitely way too many beautiful patterns out there and I find it quite hard to choose which one to cast on!
Annika, this was a great podcast. I love some of the same designers. I plan to knit Sari Norland’s Wood Anenome sweater this year. Also the Eva cardigan by Petite knits and the Timepiece cardigan by Ailbiona McLochlainn. My WIPs include The Dornie by Rebecca Clow, the Brume by Andrea Mowry and I am making the Maja cardigan by Helene Magnussen into a pullover in grey and white. I cast on the Laulu shawl by Sari Norland on Christmas Day. I am using what Sari did so it is really lovely. It’s Knitting for olive merino paired with Soft silk mohair which is a lovely combination. I have the Joni pattern as well and yarn for it. Maybe I will get to it this year. I’ve been enjoying your podcast very much.
Thank you so much for your comment and your kind words! Wow, you have a lot of projects on the needles! They all sound very lovely. And I agree, Knitting for Olive's Merino + Soft Silk Mohair is a lovely combination. I tried it for the first time in 2024 and really enjoyed it. Let me know if you decide to knit Joni! 😊
That's a good question, I had to think about it for a bit. First of all, I don't consider myself an expert on unspun yarns by any means. I started knitting with unspun yarn less than a year ago. So this is only my (limited) personal experience. A major benefit is the versatility. You can use them for pretty much any knitting project since you can knit them with pretty much any needle size. You can hold them single, double, triple or even more strands together. When it comes to Nutiden yarn from Höner och Eir, I also really like the color depth. They are the opposite of a flat, solid colorway. And lastly, I also have grown to like the fact that there are so fragile while knitting. You have to take your time when knitting with unspun yarn and be very mindful. I hope that answers your question!
@@AnnikaScheer something you didn´t mention is the airy lightness of the knitted fabric. It´s warm but breething because of the unspun structrure, which is not yarn actually - because it is unspun.
@ Thank you so very much for answering! I hate to trouble you with one last question, but if the yarn is so fragile, is the finished garment fragile, too? Again, thank you!
What I'm wearing: Like a cloud by Joji Locatelli
yarn: Blacker Yarns Tor, colorway Rundlestone

I just came across you, I first must say what a beautiful name you have Annika love your video
That is so sweet of you to say, thank you very much! 😊
Happy New Year Annika! I have the Belle & Sebastian pullover by Sari on the needles and then will knit her Poet sweater!
Happy New Year to you, too! Those are two very beautiful patterns, I might join you. 😊

Thank you so much for your lovely comment - how awesome that we have a couple of knitting plans in common. 😊
I am going to make the rib wave as well this year, I have the pattern, and hopefully the yarn in stash! Happy New Year!🥳 🎉

I got Sari Nordlund’s new book for Christmas, and has cast on one of the hats. Still not decided on which sweater I want….
How wonderful that you got Sari's book for Christmas! Thanks for sharing! ❤

@ No, it is surprisingly sturdy, given the fact that the yarn is so delicate! The fibers kind of grab onto each other when you knit with them. 🙂
